This video tutorial is the absolute best and most comprehensive instructional out there for Volkswagen Passat 2002. Thank you for your perfectionistic approach to explaining each and every step.
Good video. Good explanation’s. Since I own and service 2 Passat 1.9 tdi, I can give you 2 recommendations: - Always use 5w40 with 505.01 vw standard engine oil, with normal service interval, not long life - when change the fuel filter, the new filter always prefilled it with diesel. If not it will be very hard to start the car after.
I have a new car, but this old 2000s vw group sedans and wagons really interest me, they re everywhere with this engine, and they have all the technology I need
Since I don't own or work on VW's I skipped ahead to the maxicom 908. Since I own this piece of equipment I was interested in it's capabilities. Thanks! Now I know.
👍 thanks for another useful vid! It actually brought back good memories, I owned one of thous vw. I really considering to get another one old school 1.9 tdi. Cheers.
I very much like your videos! Just a suggestion regarding the fuel filter change, IMHO you should fill the empty filter by bleed the system before starting the engine.
Mark Smith I was mate it was just after my family left they stayed with me for a month holiday and kept me busy 😊😋... Great bit of kit indeed loving it so far 👍👍👍👍
Good work mate. What is correct torque specs for oil drain bolt, please. Also, can you tell me, if you know what is correct torque specs for rocker cover bolts on that motor.I want to change rocker cover rubber gasket.Thanks.Greetings from Bosnia.Best regards.
I don't do as much repairs/service as you. But I help out family and some close friends. Family is for free, and friends there is favor for favor. They must also help out with repair if they are able to. Today I helped a friend with some oil and oil filter change, and changing to winter tires. Next week its gonna be one oil change. And 2 cars that needs winter tires. I'm not gonna film that :-)
So ... lets say someone did changed the fuel fitler, without toping it up. And now the car wont start. Obviously that guy is not very clever, and abvioisly it is NOT me ..😅😅 Asking for a friend 😅😅 Sooo ... help? Pretty please
Well because you didn’t see me changing the fuel filter o ring , checking tyres pressure and wear, all lights working, checking windscreen wipers and wash etc , doesn’t mean that I haven’t done it . Thanks for watching

Is it needed to remove the oil filler cap while oil is draining?
I mean before you unscrew the oil pan drain bolt...
Not necessary 👍
Weird seeing the cabin filter on the "other" side of the car. =)
Thomas EXOVCDS do you know what you came to my mind when I was changing the cabin filter for the same reason 😉😃😃👍👍
