Shits just too expensive.
I'm not a Vette guy, but even I will say it's an incredible performance car, and outside of scumbag stealership mark ups, it's obtainable for people. If not, you have Supra which is very OG Cayman like in experience. And now the Z, which will likely be C7 Vette like experience, just not built like trash and actually has a nicer quality interior.

Hey, Doug! Why don't you go through the Doug Score scores one by one anymore? Those were some of my favorite parts! I liked to hear your reasoning. Anyway, still fin to watch. Good to see you going strong.
He still does length videos reserved for individual models. Shorter videos where he just features a new trim or refresh don't get the full doug score
Thank you! I wish Doug would also spend more time about the driving experience like he used to instead of the car's infotainment system that will be outdated in 5 years.
@@tricktrapper no, he doesn't anymore. he said that listing out individual scores is a minute of watch time that could be better used showing quirks and features

hard allocation. MSRP + 25 %. In USA, the slightly used 2nd hand 4GTS are around $205K
Carbon trim is optional same as for regular cars. Dark aluminum is standard for GTS. Not only brakes are from Turbo but suspension with helper springs. Suspension is -20mm, not -10 vs standard. -10 is an option. Wheels are not direcly from Turbo S but slightly narrower.
Doug is spot on with the assessment. I’d rather buy a used GT3 RS for this kind of money and take it to the track.
The only gt3rs you are getting for 170k is a 991.1 which 3.8 has many reliability concerns.
but a GT3RS is a whole different type of car.. the GTS is the best car you can buy in the lineup, for the money. If you want to own a GT3RS, you'll need a LOT more money for maintenance, tires, fuel etc. + an extra car to daily
lol you’re not getting a 3RS for $170k
@@tkachukdan about $183k. I could show you the listing. In principle, I'm suggesting this car likely will not capture the thrill-seeking audience who has this kind of cash to burn. I think a base car, a luxury model and a race model are probably the cars that sell well.

This as a daily and the 981 GT4 for the weekend and more raw feeling. 2 Cars for the price of one GT3. What I would do at least.
My only complaint is red calipers and that they charge $1000 to paint them black. Also wish it had 20” wheels in the rear, the staggered 21” wheels look too big.

Same!! It’s such an awesome and rare car.
Such a beautiful car ❤️ Would you take that over a 991.1 gen turbo?
I'm stuggeling to decide to take it over my 991.1 Carrera 4 GTS.. Mine has a naturally aspirated 3,8 liter engine that revs to 7800 rpm. The 992 GTS simply doesn't... It is faster and has a lot more toys.. But costs me more than a 100 grand more.
Sold my 991.1 turbo, waiting for a build slot on a GTS RWD PDK. Got drive one at Porsche centre. Similar performance, but much better handling; tight, nimble. 991.1 was a lovely old brute but starting to age.
@@silvercat7328 do you know if the wheelbase of the rwd the same as 4wd for the gts?
I chose the GTS over the Turbo for the manual. I have two 911s, both manuals. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Kind of bizarre Doug never once said during the review what engine this has. It wasn’t until he did interior review and talked about the boost button that I realized it was a turbo engine. Wish he would be more descriptive and detail oriented. People who aren’t obsessed with 911 don’t know all the differences and might watch this to find out. Yeah but they’re 911s. They don’t try and make them another whole separate model
Because McLaren's are more expensive than Porsche's. If you're going to spend more money, the product you've bought must be unique. Unfortunately, that's not the same for McLaren because they almost all look the same.

Greatest rivalries: Doug vs the guy who cares about stitching on his porsche
The stitching is beautiful. The price they charge for it is preposterous.
You could drive around in a 2011 Porsche and people would think it looks brand new. I feel like Porsche has the hardest time coming up with a new design, this looks the exact same as all the others
They do it because the purist love the timeless design. They hate major change. It’s actually working quite well for them as they sell a lot of them.
It’s also the driving experience that is amazing. They also blend in well with other cars. Most people have no clue they are over 100k.
Your comment would hold weight if the owner is constantly buying 911's and has finally grown out of the design. From Porsche's point of view, they have no reason to abandon that iconic silhouette.
18:40 he didn’t even notice the other 911
Actual owner here: You can spec a Carrera S and a GTS the same. They both are Carrera “S” models and it’s the options that are shared that make the difference like rear wheel steering, lowered suspension, axle lift, chassis,etc.. The option upgrade list is beyond extension for however bespoke you want to go.
Finally pulled the trigger on one. Thank you DD for these videos :)
I like how Doug is slowly improving even though he doesn’t have much to even improve on to begin with. That being said I’m talking about him showing what the options look like that aren’t on this exact car which is a bonus & ive been noticing he’s been doing it more!
I laugh every time Doug goes into his high tone Porsche "deviated stitching" owner voice.
I can’t get enough of it, love it 😂
The center lock wheels are definitely NOT faster than normal lug nuts or bolts. It’s a fairly involved process getting them on and off and torquing them properly, unless you have the $5,000+ HyTorq precision Porsche center lock gun that’s just now coming to market. And even with that tool it tightens the nut fairly slowly.
They should add the "HyTorq precision Porsche center lock gun" as an option.
@@thomasmatthew7759 it’s a new product being made by an independent company, who specializes in many other precision manufacturing tools. obsessed Garage recently made a video showing how it works.

If I had the money, I think the GTS is the one I'd go for, the only other option in my "hmm, maybe, one day, some day" category would be the Targa 4. I think I'm 10-ish years away from a Carrera as a second car, or a Carrera 4s as an only car, anything beyond that is hopeless optimism.

Doug...you're gonna give yourself a heart attack dude.
Keep in mind that Porsche underrates their cars heavily. Just like where the new Corvette says it will do 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds. But it still can't outrun the GTS 911 so that tells you that the 911 is quicker than 3.1 lol

It is played out and the new Nissan Z is better looking.
So let ME get this clear: Porsche charges you for "removing" equipment and calls it a "package" and then charges you. Porsche is laughing all the way to the bank.
In the past it was the opposite - more hardcore models with less equipment would cost less, not more. Alas, times have changed.
To be fair all brands resort to that lately;
A bit of tweaking in the engine, remove some comfort/luxury items, use cheaper materials (in sake of "weight saving"), slap it a "Sport" badge and call it a day.
