@@BenjisHobbies probably not. I dont watch new channels at all..... just kidding hahahahahahaa have heaps of fun. Hope you grow and kick ass every step along the way.
It truly has been! Unfortunately a recent house move has meant it has been passed on to another owner who I’m hoping it will make equally as happy. On the plus side though, look out for a video soon where I’m going through a similar process with my new garage!
I did something similar. I knocked down my wooden conservatory that was about 30 years old and rotten, I build a large extension which gave my sons a play room and a hobby room for myself. Best thing I ever did to improve my home.
It has indeed! It’s taken about two months in total, but obviously I had to build myself another shed in that time as well... Really happy with how the shed (and the video) has turned out.
It wasn’t that difficult to do. I’m completely self taught (which any tradesmen watching would probably be able to tell!) but it’s always fun to try out new skills!

Greater video. I have two concerns. First is freezing temperatures during winter. Are you planing to heat it whole winter? Second is safety. You got there some serious collection and doors doesn't look to be super safe.
I’ll more than likely use a small oil filled radiator to keep it at 10-15 degrees and then turn it up when I go and work in there. It’s only a small space so it’ll won’t take much to heat! The door is pretty sturdy BUT I have taken quite a few precautions with regards to security and safety, don’t you worry 😉
This is amazing, I'm so glad I found your video! I am trying to make a garden office that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and converting a shed into one was my idea too, It helps a lot seeing it being done! Thank you
I've gone down a rabbit hole looking up how to convert my shed to a studio! You really simplified it, thanks! Does the insulation board act as a vapour barrier too? Love that desk lamp! 😍
I’m hindsight I wish I had included a vapour barrier BUT I had the studio for over two years and there were no issues with it in that time. Sadly I’ve moved on now but I do have a bigger, better studio in my new garage 😊 There’s a video on that on my channel as well if that’s any help to you.
Fantastic space and what a well made video! Normally takes months or years to bring production value up to this standard, nice work man and can't wait to see more videos! Definitely show us how you organise your hobby space for a future video.
Thanks buddy! Hopefully my future videos won’t disappoint 😊 Organization is certainly on the cards at some point, because I really need to organise my shelves!

Excellent video, I've recently moved to a house with a detached garage and have plans to make a hobby corner. This is great inspiration. FYI luke sent me 👍
Hi Benjamin thank you for this video, I want to build a model making shed in my garden for my 1/6 scale hobby. So coming across this wonderful video has been brilliant. I’m not sure how big your shed is but it’s outstanding. I’d like to wire mine up for the pc and 3 d printers as well but top of the garden I think it’s going to be expensive. Love the idea of book cases to store my collection of modelling books. But have no idea how to organise thanks for this Benji
Thanks so much for your kind words! I’m still absolutely loving my shed although trying to film in there is becoming increasingly frustrating due to lack of space. Keep your eyes peeled as I will be upgrading from the shed in (hopefully) the not too distant future!
Thanks! There were moments when I thought to myself ‘there’s no way this is going to work and be practical’ but it’s worked! Super happy with how it’s all turned out.
Looks great pal! I was gazumped on a house that had a big garage I was hoping to use for the same thing, we are buying the house next door instead which doesn’t have a garage but room for a medium sized shed. This inspires me to do the same thing. Can’t wait to see more videos coming soon. Maybe some conversion ones, loved the Rohan one you did on TTG.
Wasn’t the first Sub which I’d hoped but I’m here none the less and fantastic first video mate! Proud moments, keep them coming bud! See you in the next video! X :)
Would love to see a follow up video on this now you've had it for a while. Pros, cons, how you heat it and the costs, how it fared with the particularly cold spell in the winter etc. Like many others in the last year I've looked at "proper" garden offices and was amazed (negatively) by the cost of what is essentially a posh shed. By the time I get round to all other priorities in this house being taken care of and could begin to think about affording the £10k+ price it'll be so many years away that the days when the kids move out will be clearly in sight and I might as well just think about using one of their rooms for the same purpose...
Thanks for commenting! It’s certainly a video I have thought about doing but I’m not entirely sure there’s much to show - it works and it stayed pretty warm throughout the winter! I have a few changes I’m making internally soon so I might post a little update when I do that 😊 I think people have been asking silly money for garden offices etc just because a lot more people have been working from home. I’m guessing that the prices will start to drop when everyone goes back to work!
What a great informative video how do you manage in the summer months it gets really hot in my garden shed and I don't have any insulation for me the worry would be that my paints and maby even some of the thinner plastic on the miniatures wouldn't fair very well
I’ve now had it up for a couple of summers and in all honesty it’s not been too bad. I think the insulation helps keep both the heat in during the winter and keeps the heat out during the summer so it’s a win-win. I do most of my work during the evening and I’m able to open the window or leave the door open if it feels a bit too toasty and to get some air movement. There’s also a ‘lock’ on the window so I can keep it just ajar enough whilst still being secure to give a little ventilation throughout the day. None of my models seem to have fared badly - even my resin minis that can get a bit bendy in the heat are still looking ok! Hope that helps!
