Looks great! I was thinking you are probably in a more moderate climate? Or you only use it 3 (ish) seasons? I’d love to do something like that for my leather work - but it would need to be heated (and cooled lol) and if we get a snowy winter I probably wouldn’t be able to get to it lol.
I have an entire building vlog devoted to my Art studio build on my channel. I will be moving in in 2 weeks. Can’t wait! Mine will be about 500 sq feet. And has heat and plumbing. I have been waiting a year since we began packing to move with most of my art supplies in boxes. My furniture has been living in a barn and I am dying to get moved in. Next week we lay the wood flooring.
Great Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you considered - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one off guide for building better sheds and woodworking minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my mate finally got amazing results with it.
I’m just thinking of how dreamy it would be to paint in there with rain hitting the windows up top 😍 Love this set up, I hope to have my own art shed someday.✨
At my art camp that I went to as a kid, the painting studio was in the woods with a plastic roof so you could see all the trees and there is a greenish glow to the studio
I hope you enjoy this transformation! I had so much fun doing it + being able to decorate it just to my liking 😍 I’m so sorry for the black dot on some parts of the video! I know it’s annoyingly but it was my first time using a camera and I didn’t even notice it on the lens 🙄 just try to look past it hahaha 🤷🏻♀️
I have been wanting to do this forever. Our garden shed has block on the outside now though, since my hubby put in a gorgeous wooden and block pillared fence in front of the garden which the shed is part of. I had given up my dream because I kept thinking it wouldn't have any light in there. Now I see your shed. DUH! It's so small it really is okay with just the natural light from the door. I can just replace the door with one that has a big old window in it. Your art studio looks great! I am really impressed with your brick wall. Thanks for the inspiration!
For sure lol The music, the editing style, and not to mention the faux brick wall (although that was done by the Sorry Girls first, but bestdressed literally worked for them lol)
i mean she journals and handletters so that means she isnt that messy but lol white carpet.. like what if she leaves the door open and dirt gets on the carpet or somethin like that
This turned out so amazingly! What a magical space for creative endeavors. You guys did an amazing job. On a side note, it warmed my heart how your husband was so into the project. That’s true love right there he’s a keeper. 💕
I loved your transformation video and design of it. I am planning to make one for myself and have been watching tons of videos. The faux brick wall was a great add, the simple and eye pleasing shelves, love all the plants and the clear ceiling was a wonderful add!!! Thanks for sharing
I really enjoyed your vid. There is nothing more exciting than getting your own art space and finally organising your materials. Kudos to u and your man
this is a very nice video of an office. An art studio has no white carpet, tons of art materials, and nooks and shelves for them, a wide table, and so forth
Welcome to TH-cam! Love your channel's aesthetic already. I'd love to see some "journal with me" and "journalling tips" as well as any other reno/remodels or creative work you do! Also, if you don't mind sharing, how much did it cost for you to convert the shed like this? Debating making one for myself!
Oh goodness you are a lucky lady. Big hugs to you DH for making this for you. Looking forward to more videos. Just watched the journal one and now this one. Good luck, enjoy and continue to create
Thank you for sharing your experience. I think many artists and crafters would like to see the transformation. I didn't have a back shed so I am having a 10x12 room built behind my garage. I also had my art supplies in closets in the house. I am eager to get them all in one place.
I have always wanted a shed/studio but paying to get electrical set up has always deterred the idea. watching this you brought great inspiration to just use clear paneling in some spots to avoid that cost. Thank you for sharing!!!
Wow so beautiful and inspiring! 💜 Thank you so much for sharing! Love all the light, openness, and plants! I too am blessed with an incredibly sweet and hardworking husband. Now this is one of my dreams if we are ever able to afford a house with a backyard, I will use this as a model of inspiration to build it. Enjoy creating! 😊💖
Really cool thanks for sharing. If it were me I probably would have added a window in the wall you had to rebuild but I'm sure that would have cost money. You're very fortunate to have such a handy partner who can help you. I love all the plants and like the sun roof thing you have going on. Thanks again for sharing
You lucky blessed human. This IS life changing, having some space to be creative- we all have THE RIGHT to experience creativity in the flow. Makes life worth living. 😊. Like watching these while i sort out my craft room
i might be moving to a new house soon and it has 2 sheds and i was sitting in bed wondering where i’d have room indoors to do some crafts or “mess” like my mom likes to call it lol so then i just told her i can turn one of the sheds into my craft room and she can have the other one as her she-shed. also i’m so glad you showed how you insulated because i have no clue how to and i would love to since it gets so cold up north in the winter.
This came out so good! I wish I had a space like this, I'd need to put in vinyl flooring and no carpet since I paint, and more storage sine I have like 3-4 times the supplies lol but the roof window is amazing! I would also put in some brighter lights in there though, you don't want to hurt/ruin your eyes if you're going to be working in the late afternoon/late at night, though. But overall, it looks amazing and I love the aesthetic!
Congrats on your studio....it is great to that you have space to create....also, very awesome that you and husband worked together to accomplish this goal!!!
OK you have to do a video on exactly how you created the faux brick wall! What type of wallboard did you use? What was the tool? Did you ''mortar'' the lines? Please do a video! I'm subscribing so I can be notified when you do it. Thanks for a great video!
Honestly, probably the least of their worries. The building is a slab-on-grade, which will wick moisture into the building, especially in that climate. Additionally, the land slopes from the back right down to the building which will sheet water onto the exterior wall and slab of the building. The only reason it wasn't moldy on the inside prior to reno is that by not having insulation or interior walls, the wood framing could dry. With the addition of the insulation and the interior walls, the moisture will be held in the cavity and produce mold. Further exacerbating the issue, the walls have no underlayment on them, so all of the punctures in the sheathing from the siding will lead to moisture in the cavity. Plus, the corrugated poly roof panel covering the cut in the roof will allow wind-driven rain into the building. There's a reason the building was built like it was built. While it is possible to convert a shed like this to a studio, this is not how it's done and can lead to health issues due to poor air quality. Don't use this video as a guide for a renovation. Google building science and learn about how buildings work, or hire someone who does know how buildings work.
Michael Southard I had wondered about those issues, especially the clear panels. Great idea, but how well did they secure the panels. You have valid points 👏
Noticed the insulation mess up right off! But with no ceiling in there, insulation was a waste of money anyhow! It looks great, don’t get me wrong, but it looks like a cold space in the winter months! I have no idea where they are located at, but unless they are in the Deep South, it will not be an enjoyable place to spend time in for several months a year! Looks cool though! I try to keep in mind that everyone has to start somewhere, and lessons learned here will benefit them richly in the future! These two are certainly capable of great things with a little constructive guidance early on! I’d love to hear their thoughts now, since this is at least a couple years old!
Aaaaah this is amazing!!! When people are able to build stuff it's like magic to me coz only big corporations or super professionals are able to pull off such an extensive project!! I really wish Would Work was a thing here in South African schools. This was so amazing. And also very nice track choices :D thank you for sharing this!!!
Congrats on your project and video, so inspiring! You guys make an adorable team. I'll make sure to follow your next videos and wish you the best of luck. Lots of love from Brazil!
That was very nice. I am going to fix up my garage to make it a better studio. I don't know where you live but I get snow and it is so cold my paint freezes so I have to bring it in for the winter so need to make my garage insulated so I can paint there year around. What a nice hsuband you have and you pout it a lot of work.
Awesome space. Love that you used that roof sheeting to allow natural light in. Question? What did you use to mount those water bowls on the wall? I love that idea.
Damn get it girl with your first video at 200K views?! Looks great I so wish I had my own space for my design business im starting (invitation, party printables, logos, etc)
Love the way this turned out🤩🤩 your Instagram/work has inspired me to start journaling! I would love to see your supplies and tips for beginners and where you get your inspiration! 💛
Good job! Do you have harsh winters where you are? Just curious what your plan is for heating if so. I redid my shed as well and I do have heat and a/c but am trying to figure out a more economical way to keep my supplies from freezing (epoxy, paints etc and not necessarily have to run my heater constantly but unfortunately it might be my only option or my supplies would be ruined. ☹️
Loved the round wall vases. Are they hard to keep watered? What changes have u made? Do you use the space as much/more than you thought u would? 🤍 Will ck out ur art! 🤍
So happy to see a shed to studio conversion that bothered to insulate! It looks fantastic
Except the insulation was installed backwards.
@@krvp76 and no roof insulation..

Beautiful studio! Put a fire extinguisher in your new space, especially if you plan to burn candles! One can never be too safe.
Very good idea
Excellent idea. I will do this. Had TWO friends/fam burn down house/condo because of spontaneous combustion due to pile of oily rags. 🚫🔥= 🧘♀️
What a mom!!
Nice space, but I'd worry about the extension cord that was run under the area rug...
I love that you didnt talk so much, really it keeps it calm and brings the attention to your space

I’m just thinking of how dreamy it would be to paint in there with rain hitting the windows up top 😍 Love this set up, I hope to have my own art shed someday.✨
@artist one it would be scary ugh I hate it when there is lightning
At my art camp that I went to as a kid, the painting studio was in the woods with a plastic roof so you could see all the trees and there is a greenish glow to the studio
don’t burn down your she shed like cheryl
That's the first thing that popped into my head when she lit her candles😂😭😂
😭
my she shed 😭
it was struck by lightning 0_0
It was a he-shed she-shed situation
I hope you enjoy this transformation! I had so much fun doing it + being able to decorate it just to my liking 😍

u def gonna be successful. if u wanna support each other i’d be up for it cuz i loved this video 💙
brianna collins what kinda of wood did you use for your brick + wood shelf? I’m inspired to make one myself for my plants
Didn't even notice! Great work by you guys!!! I love it.
about how much did it cost to transform that shed?
Didn’t even notice it. What did you use for the transparent part of the roof?
You can see, that you're watching a lot bestdressed :D
i also noticed 😁
but that's not bad at all :)
@Emma J Meyer and the music she used for her transformation lol
The music used I've heard on at least 4 different blogger/lifestyle channels, so it's not a sure thing just based on the music.
The brick wall, the music but also the lettering. But obviously that's not bad at all, everyone gets there inspirations out there.
What a good husband! This is every artist’s dream. You lucky girl!!
whew child the patience you have to do all this
I have been wanting to do this forever. If you want more light, you can add a sky light or solitude. With light color floor and walls it really brightens the whole space.
Do mine eyes deceive me, or is she a bestdressed fan? 😁
For sure lol
The music, the editing style, and not to mention the faux brick wall (although that was done by the Sorry Girls first, but bestdressed literally worked for them lol)
@@rubbaband999 dont forget cutting the smol plant leaves and into the water as well, its adorable
that was my first thought as soon as I saw the brick!!!
Omg I love bestdressed!! ❤️❤️
Some twinkle lights added to various places would add a bit of warmth :) Love it.
It has such a chill vibe
I’d like to know what the cost of the project was.
@Taylor they just so happened to have a door, insulation, panels, paint, shelves all waiting to be used?
I just had a real bad anxiety/panic attack but I gotta say that this really made me calm down. Thanks!!! Your project turned out amazing btw
White carpet for an art studio lol?
not like she's painting
Same but from what she said it sounds like her process isn’t too messy lol
Bad idea regardless! Any kind of glue or even if she drops a pen without a lid would ruin her carpet. Vinyl flooring is the way to go!
i mean she journals and handletters so that means she isnt that messy but lol white carpet.. like what if she leaves the door open and dirt gets on the carpet or somethin like that
The more stuff she gets on it the better of a masterpiece it’ll become haha

The melting foam brick wall. You really are artists! That was genius
LOVE that you made your own furniture and that faux brick wall was truly inspired! Great job guys.
I loved watching your whole process. It came out great and I’m jelly of your new she shed. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!
Girl it looks amazing! All your hard work totally paid off on this project!
I love the simplicity of this. Looks cozy but fresh at the same time too.
Very cute! A little space heater, and I could spend all day out there. Nice natural light. I bet rain on that roof would look and sound amazing.
I really enjoyed your vid. There is nothing more exciting than getting your own art space and finally organising your materials. Kudos to u and your man
totally would recommend adding a painting/canvas on the wall opposite your desk :)
this is a very nice video of an office. An art studio has no white carpet, tons of art materials, and nooks and shelves for them, a wide table, and so forth

Great job. Just FYI the paper part of the insulation goes on the inside. You use that little flap to staple to the 2x4 studs. Looks good tho 🙌🏻
