Mason Hates Aladdin - Caravan Of Garbage

- Disney's Aladdin from 1992 is considered an absolute classic. But is it garbage or whatever? Also is this a review of Aladdin 1992 to tie into the SEO of the Aladdin 2019 reviews? Yes.

Ben is sure getting a lot of mileage out of the "James confused face" and "Mason victory pose" graphics.
lmao
They are great!
It never got old, though. Love it.
I can't be the only one who thought those were stock photo models for a very long time... What can i say? James and Maso are just two handsome dudes!
I’ve seen those so many times I just assumed those were their neutral expressions :)
Congratulations, Mason has graduated from "guy who has never seen a Disney movie" to "guy who has seen *TWO* Disney movies".
He's seen Dumbo, it's the reason he hates Disney. They rewatched it on this show man c'mon!
He's seen 3 now
@@blueparkerprime Idk how i forgot that. Fixed
BattleUp Saber
Get that man a medium sized sandwich!
Ben's editing is just..... Flawless
For real, as a Canadian his local references and inserts are extra fun too (i.e. Tim Hortons, T-Dot Goon Scrap DVD etc.)
"They are both pricks"
Got'em
"They gave him an original Pablo Picasso painting"
"Of the Genie???"
I literally bursted out laughing
These two have a hell of a sense of humour
I thoroughly enjoyed watching James be extremely disappointed by Mason finally liking a thing
The Genie is the only character who ever makes anachronistic pop culture references so I always just assumed it was because he's magic and knows about things that haven't happened yet. Especially since Aladdin never seems to react in ways that would imply he gets any of the references, he's just kinda like "huh this guy's pretty eccentric I guess".
i was a teenager when this movie came out and before it was available legally for home viewing I got a bootleg copy for my younger siblings. I traced Aladdin artwork from a magazine to make a really nice professional looking case for the movie complete with fake reviews that I put on the back cover. I remember still how mad our mom got when she read the fake review from Roger and Ebert I put on it saying "We give this movie two thumbs up our butts!"
Lmao that's awesome
Amazing story
Either you are an AI or lying for Internet cred which is sad. Alladin came out in 1992, none of your story checks out.
The original line was "where they cut off your ear if you don't like your face"... that's the lyric they changed
And the following line was "it's barbaric! But hey it's home"
@@funstuff81girl yeah well that one they kept
I had a cassette with the original line on it when I was little and it always stuck in my head as how the song is supposed to go. Also, imagining myself as a very small child singing about cutting off ears.. not sure if it's amusing or disturbing.
The "cut off your ear line" was still on the original soundtrack too but they changed it for a re-releases
It’s astonishing that they thought it was ok even in 1992... but then again look at some of the adverts well into the 2000 and somethings. 😕
Thinking about it, Jafar _could_ actually have been almost completely up front with Aladdin regarding the cave, aside from why he wanted the lamp and the whole murder thing. He might actually have been more convincing that way.
"I'm the grand vizier around here and I'm going to cut you a deal. I'll pardon you if you go inside a magic cave full of treasure and fetch me an old lamp. I'll even let you keep the treasure and look the other way when you try to woo the princess."
"Wait, why do you want this lamp?"
"It's a historical artifact with some political significance. Wouldn't be worth anything to you."
"And you don't want any of that treasure?"
"I'm already a wealthy man, you go ahead and take it."
"Why don't you just go get the lamp yourself?"
"Do you think I would be talking to you if I could? I told you, it's a magic cave and apparently you're the only one who can enter it. And no, I have no idea why. Look, do you want out of this dungeon or not?"
Heck, that was probably more or less what he told the first guy he tried it with.
Damn jaffar really is a moron he deserved what he got
This wouldn't make sense too because if Aladdin touches the treasure the cave will collapse.
@@morgothfromangband6082 They can remove that and everything else works, I think being pardoned from jail is treasure enough.
@@williamkrause5585 if he was upfront about how much power and sway he had, he risked Alladin blackmailing or leveraging him for more reward.
I think what he told the first guy was "Quick adventure, in and out, 20 minutes"
Ah, the nostalgia.
I had almost forgotten there was a time when you could request 'conditions' when selling yourself to Disney.
All hail lord Mickey; long may he reign & entertain.
JackDManheim but only if yur Robin Williams or another A-List actor agreeing to be the lead catalyst for a smash hit movie for just minimum wage. And even then, Disney will find ways to disrespect you further
reallue
Well they didn’t really employ big actors in animation before Aladdin
Hail the mouse! Long may he skullfuck star wars.
lmao I love that mason is saying that the movie doesnt have a parade of horrific stereotypes, as the parade of horrific stereotypes is being shown on screen

No.
The controversial line from Arabian Nights was "Where they cut off your ear
if they don’t like your face." They changed it to "Where it’s flat and immense and the heat is intense."
You guys should watch King of Thieves next. Legitimately one of the best Disney movies made.
The most impressive part of this video is Mason’s ability to instantly remember the name of the villain from “The Mask”. I don’t remember his name and I literally just heard it.
It starts with a...d?
Why did they stop this Disney series tho
Have to watch these quick before they get copyright striked !
It's pretty obvious at this point they are paid Disney shills. They never dislike a Marvel or Star Wars movie. Anyone else definitely would get vids taken down for this kind of humour.
@@evilelf6188 Wow you've got problems. So according to you, it's impossible for people to just be easy going and like things rather than ripping everything apart piece by piece. And if you even paid attention to this video, you would notice that James said he thought it was "good, not great." How is that advertising? I guarantee you Disney would never allow them to say anything other than that they love it if they were truly being paid. Grow up and enter the real world.
@@jamescoalman8928 pretty sure it's a joke and reference to the pod
@@evilelf6188 They didnt like Solo, Thor 2, Iron Man 3, and now Mason hates Aladdin. You're a fucking idiot.

Jafar and Iago: mates because there prick
James and Maso: mates because they’re the best
did you use they're and there so you would be sure to be 50% correct instead of risking being wrong both times, mate?
@@92brunod i realised after but i was naaahhh
I always thought in universe the genie referencing things from the future was because he is a timeless being.
Exactly. He tells Aladdin at the end of the movie that "you won't find a woman like Jasmine for a million years. Believe me...I know. I've looked". Which seems to imply he can (and had) travel through time.
But every future reference he makes just happens to be from a very short period from 1980-92. Makes no sense.
@@lucasoheyze4597 he makes multiple references to characters from the 40s to 70s. Petre lore? Johnny Carson? Carol channing
In 1378 CE, Egyptian peasants made offerings to the Great Sphinx in the hope of controlling the flood cycle, which would result in a successful harvest. Outraged by this blatant show of devotion, Sa'im al-Dahr destroyed the nose and was later executed for vandalism.
That account remains unvalidated
There's no way Robin's daughter would've allowed Disney to use Robin in the remake. Not after the falling out Robin/Disney had.
9:02 - that napoleon line dated marvelously lmao
Apart from it's not true in either depictions.
The pyramid was vandalized by a Caliph but was so expensive to destroy they simply gave up, and we don't know for sure who destroyed the sphinx's nose (seeing how it was covered in sand
Click bait dangit I came here for mason hating Aladdin so I could hate on him!
"You are the boy from the market! I knew it!"
"Jasmine, I'm sorry."
"Jafar said you were dead."
"He did?"
"Yeah, isn't that strange? Ah, whatever, let's just roll with it."
Robin Williams: You ain't never had a friend like me.
Me: We'll never have a friend like him.
Disney 2019: Here's another friend like him.
meloD30 He's nothing like him
@@nightwalker174 Agreed, I'm being sarcastic.
@@nightwalker174 Still like Will Smith tho, just not in this role.
I love how much Mason takes the wind out of James's sails by being positive
I heard the same thing about Napoleon and the Sphinx. And I live in Phoenix Arizona.
“No one remembers the name of the villain from the mask!” 😂😂😂
I didn't even know there was a villain in the mask (it could be because I've never watched it, the closest I came was being forced to watch the sequel in fourth grade and not really paying attention to it anyway)
Sarah795Lopez the first one is so much better than the second one. You should definitely watch it when you get a chance. The second one doesn’t even come close.

“Who’s your favorite character?”
“…bird?”
I don’t know why I ever just listen to the audio versions of this, the videos are so good!
Watching this and then listening to the podcast episode about the Napoleon movie is convincing me that James is a prophet
The genie is the little man because they are the only characters that only have 4 fingers while everyone else has 5
Suck it
Maso
Want it sucked, go find a calf. XD
Bring me the lamp.. Mr Sunday!
Aladdin is, has and always will be my all time favourite disney movie. and seeing snippets of it in this makes me feel so happy
I'm glad Mason actually likes Aladdin, because if he didn't, I would have probably disregarded all of his commentary up until this point.
Ahaha you sucked me in! You fooled me! You lured me in with promises of unpopular opinions, only to subvert my expectations with a distinct lack of unpopular opinions.
Oh noooooooooo
Calvatron, Lord of Nothing Soeak for yourself!!! Most opinions have been positive.. hahahahaha
They used the same "future-referencing" humor in The Sword in the Stone. Both the Genie and Merlin make jokes that reference things that haven't yet happened in their own world. But both of them are magical beings who can probably travel to (or at least see) the future. This is actually confirmed in Sword as Merlin talks about knowing what the future holds and even abandons Wart to travel to the future in act 3.
I believe that the Genie wouldn't have been the same if it hadn't been for Merlin making it work three decades earlier.
Also they're both blue. 😉
Coming back to this four years later just makes me happy.
I know most people have seen all these disney movies yall cover but i would love to hear the story recap in these videos because the explanations of the silly shit that happens in them would be very entertaining
I'm kinda sad they haven't gotten back to these old Disney movie caravan of garbage to hear Maso's absolute hot take on the rest of them, I was kinda hopeful when Little Mermaid came out but sadly they were doing the FF movies review and the random transformers the movie which is pretty awesome.. but still.
This review is one of the funniest fuckin things I've ever heard. From putting Disney's refrigerated head in an oven to Napoleon shooting the Sphinx's nose off with a cannon. Oh you guys made me laugh so hard.
the lesson from the RW/Disney story is .. getting a promise from a corporation is like getting a promise from a spanner.
Nice Reference they’ve put at 11:17 about how in the future they will cover The Mask as a lead up to the tv show Loki.
Aladdin 1992 is my favourite Disney movie. R.I.P Robin Williams
Idk why mason knowing the name of the villain in the mask cracks me up so much. I couldn’t have told you his name to save my life. But Stanley epkis is ingrained in my brain
Fun fact, Robin Williams put something in his will that prevents the unreleased Greenie recordings from being used, he put a literal death lock on it
Their cutouts “talking” is too good 🤣🤣🤣
Mason almost undid all of the goodwill he's built up with me.
SCREW YOU! Popeye is great!
ahem
But, seriously, it's great.
It really is.
Yeah, it gets a bad rap. Also, miss Duvall needed that movie after the Shining. Poor girl got traumatized.
Robin Williams said in his will “you can’t use my old recordings to make Aladdin 4.” They were planning on doing it but canned it because they couldn’t use him.
The removal of the Sphinx's nose was done by a 14th century Sufi Sultan. An different Sultan (one of Saladin's sons) also tried to dismantle the Pyramid of Menkaure (the smallest of the 3 great pyramids) but gave up after years having made no progress and supposedly said that it would cost more to tear it down than it did to build it.
PLEASE do treasure planet its the most underrated film of all time

@Six Beer Math Titan AE and Treasure Planet are completely different films. The only commonality is they're both about a young man in space.

Nice timing - Lindsay Ellis came out with a video about Robin Williams and Aladdin a couple of days ago. This combines great with it.
It's almost as if there is an upcoming film, and TH-camrs are creating content related to it, so that the algorithms and word of mouth can bring them more traffic and therefore money.
That, or just a cool coincidence ;)

The line that was cut from Arabian nights goes "they cut off your ear if they don't like your face".
Did Ben edit this? Hi Ben!!!!!!!
9:53 really wish they would have edited in Jimbo beating up Nelson when he says "guff"

People butthurt over someone else having their own opinion and being seriously upset and angry and shit just because a person they don't know, have never met, and have nothing to do with, not liking something that they do. Like for real a person dislikes something and y'all act like it's a personal insult and that they are trying to ruin your life... people need to grow up, man.. people die all the time every day shit is too short and y'all wanna waste it being mad at people over the dumbest, lamest, most insignificant bullshit...

15:31 Cameo by the deleted Pokemon Video... RiP 🙁
The reason that genie can make references to things and people that haven't happened yet is that he's seen the future or he's already been there.
4:29 For anyone curious, that picture is a screenshot from an independent movie called "The Further Adventures of Walt's Frozen Head," and it's pretty good if you like, you know, Disney and stuff :0
Sword in the Stone was one of my favorites.
15:35 _Nick Mason just wants a big sandwich_

Warner Bros are hell bent on keeping that one down
That schizophrenia gag with the genie was fucking brilliant

The best part of the Genie is that they just put Robin Williams in a recording booth and had him improve for hours.
That's not a good thing.
