    The Keychron Q6 has replaced my Corsair k95. Although it's not working with via yet, it sounds so much better with a bit of modding. It also has a knob which shifts over the F keys which I will always look for in whatever keyboard I seek.

    Great video, the trend of tiny keyboards is really strange to me considering the whole point of them is to save space but most people put tiny keyboards on massive desks. Either way whatever you prefer it doesn't really matter, but there should be the option of both for everything.
    For me, Corsair K100 is like 80% perfect but it only has speed switches so it needs browns. K95 Platinum XT is perfect but doesn't have the new features of the K100

      I agree with what you said about the K100, even though Cherry Silver Speeds have been very good to me throughout the years, however, in regards to the desk space and smaller keyboards, the main reason for that is the *wide* amount of space you would have for your mouse. It's especially useful for gamers who damn-near swing their mouse all around the desk when playing FPSs and things like that.

    Thank you so much for this video 🙏. I understand why many people are into smaller-sized keyboards but it pains me to have such a small selection of premium full-size keyboards when the extra keys come in handy with work and school. I also wish that bigger companies like Razer, Corsair, & Logitech would consider making 1800-layout boards with a full case (Like The KBDFans ODIN or Corsair's K65 RGB Mini). I'm _preeettyyy_ sure the majority of gamers are ready to move on from floating-key designs. Not saying they have to get rid of RGB lighting, but I think an actual enclosed case would make a better aesthetic these days.

      That's what I used to see in some techies forum. In one of the Discord server of a local tech reviewers I join for example, many have asked about the full size recommendation but sadly they rarely give one, either because they don't know about recommended full-sized boards even though there's a lot of them ranging from cheap but good quality OEM ones to the ones from expensive big brand or because they simply prefer smaller form factor with separate numpad because they don't use numpad often, only for work so it's better to have a separate one.
      And yeaa they always justify the reason of why smaller form factor will always be better which might not be everyone's favourite. This kind of treatment often make someone who asked for recommendation to flee from the forum without even saying thank you as far as I've seen, probably because they feel asking for those people are useless at the end (I guess?)

    • @HappyBeezerStudios
      @HappyBeezerStudios ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes I really feel like the odd one, because I have requirements that go against what people say.
      I prefer cabled headphones for the simplicity and "it just works" usability, I still have my DVD drive in use on a frequent basis, I use my numpad almost on a daily basis, and I have big hands, so all these tiny sub 70g mice are just uncomfortable to use.

    Tempted by some of these boards, but as someone who spends an ungodly amount of time in front of a computer for work, I really wish someone would make a mechanical version of the Microsoft Sculpt Ergo.
    There are some options, but they’re either riddled with gimmicks, have an exorbitant price tag near $400+, or don’t have a logical form factor for a productivity setup.
    After using something as comfortable as the Sculpt Ergo with a tented and angled board, you really feel the strain on your wrists and forearms from standard keyboards. Same goes for their Sculpt Ergo mouse (though the wireless tech is absolute trash if not in direct line of sight to the receiver). Alice/Arisu boards get close, but don’t achieve the same level of usability and comfort.

    Can I ask a question? The Asus Strix Flare II - I notice that in your review the LED backlight was all blue. In all the advertising for the keyboard, it is always shown with a rainbow LED backlight effect, and nothing is said about the ways in which the backlighting can be changed. I'm assuming you can alter/program the backlighting to the effect you want? Can you confirm this? For example - I'd light to have an even green backlight across the whole board. I'm not a fan of the rainbow effect backlighting. Thanks.

    Game changer for strafe shooting in valorant and cs go.
    Every video about strafe shooting tells you that you need to get the timing right. but with this keyboard you dont need timing because you are immediately accurate as soon as you let go of the key.

    Thanks especially for this. I'm a gamer who sets up their (left) hand on the Num keypad (for lots of very good reasons, one of which is that if you are WASD your mouse hand is stretching and that's going to give you back and neck problems) and also an audio transcriber who types for a living, all of which amounts to: needs the full keyboard including full Num keypad. I tried the 'gaming keypads' just for your one hand, so far they seem to be uniformly anti-ergonomic and non-anthropometric (my industrial design degree tells me this). So thanks, this is an excellent start on my long quest (that definitely won't include Razer; I was given a new one to try and it's rubbish - packed full of stupid gimmicks, a volume knob I don't need and which doesn't work anyway, and FRAGILE switches that shatter if you look at them the wrong way - compared to the 'legacy' one I still have that dates back to when Razer were pioneers in the mechanical keyboard realm, that still works beautifully after, what, 15 years or something?).

    I believe there is something wrong in their quality control at Corsair. I recently purchesed the K70 TKL red switch from Amazon, the typing experience had been amazing, everying is smooth, but unfortunately the USB-C port of the detachable cable was acting up, it disconnected ramdomly, so I connected Amazon and got a replacement. This one the USB-C port is working well, no disconnection, but the typing experience is completely different, the switches are little bit scratchy, which gives me a feeling that there are some unwanted material stucked in the switches.

    -Extremely well built and premium full Aluminium shell.
    -Came with decent switches, stabiliser with hot swap.
    -Thick PBT keycaps with good looking font.
    -RGB
    -Gasket mount.
    -Have a nob option if you want.
    - Require minimal moding, if any.

    I would love to have one with a detachable numpad. I do use it to input long numbers in excel and bind voice channels to it if a game has more multiple. And for those having the numpad on the left side would be super practical. But at that point I wouldn't mind having a seperate numpad. I also don't like if the function key block is tinkered with, it really messes with touch typing when keys aren't where they are supposed to be.
    And for a maximum typing and gaming solution I would probably use two keyboards. One with linear switches for gaming, and one with tactile switches for typing. Both obviously the same brand and model, with removable cable, so that I could simply unplug one and plug in the other.

    • @morgan5941

    I have too many mechanical keyboards already, and I know I will eventually get more. It's not unusual for me to wear out a non-mechanical keyboard in less than two years, so, this replacement of hardware lead me to buy more sturdy products. My current cheapskate preference is the EVGA linear or clicky versions of the Z20 that are normally well over 100 dollars, but at present are on sale in the 50 to 70 dollar region.

    • @fturla___156
      @fturla___156 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HappyBeezerStudios The EVGA Z20 Mechanical keyboards are definitely light based optical switch tech that perform like tradition mechanical keyboard switches. If you want the actual mechanical versions then buy the EVGA Z15 keyboards, because those have mechanical switches of the Kailh design that can be swapped out for your preferred switch. I do not know if the switch connections are Cherry MX switch compatible. I recently have seen both the Z20 and Z15 priced between 30 and 60 dollars especially on the EVGA website. Both Z20 linear and clicky (LK Light Strike Optical Mechanical) versions use the LK light activated mechanical switches I have no idea if and why the description is the same, but the Z15 uses Kailh brown clicky switches and the linear version uses Kailh Speed Silver switches.
