Watch winders are really great display pieces. I do think that it is more relevant for high complications watches with moon phase date day etc that would be a pain to set every time you want to wear.
@@TheTimelyFocus lucky guy... hell, I bought a GS White Birch, a Rolex 126619LB and a Rolex 126715CHNR this year alone and never so much as got a thank you card.. that's a nice winder. I'm buying the 3-winder version..
The only thing that the winder makes is to wear down the watch movement, is not that good for you’re watch. Btw good content and regards from Colombia 🇨🇴
@@TheTimelyFocus I mean theres not difference but when is on your wrist you are using it, but when you have it on the winder is like using the movement unnecessarily. I don't know if I made myself understood
Really?? Purpose of automatic watch is to cut it from any electric power source and use kinectic. Automatic-> quartz-> smart-> automatic. Dont you think we should stop innovating unnecessarily at some point. Just a thought...btw nice channel.
Yes that is an interesting point Avnish! I definitely appreciate that automatic watches work without the need for electronic power. So I totally see how what you say makes sense. However, what I most appreciate about automatic watches in this sense at least is that they are incredible tiny machines working with only gears, springs, and carefully crafted and engineered components that should last an extremely long time when taken proper care of. It matters less to me that a watch gets its kinetic energy from me or a watch winder. It sounds super arbitrary when I write it down, but that is just how I think. Plus, I think the cool factor of the winder outweighs that is electronically winding watches. Thank you for the comment!

$1000 watch winder for $1000 watches?
Haha, well mine was included when I bought my GS. I was not actually looking to buy one but it is definitely cool to have!

Thanks for the comment NM! Do you think the wear down rate of a movement is any different on a wonder than being worn naturally on one’s wrist?
