Hello! I am a young watch enthusiast who enjoys learning about and sharing the intricacies of various watches. I am currently a molecular biology/neuroscience PhD student at the University of Denver. When I am not in class or in the lab doing research, chances are I am riding my bike, camping, or learning about cool things like watches.

There is no better watch for $300 - Tissot Luxury Automatic
มุมมอง 17K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The Tissot Luxury Automatic watch with Powermatic 80 movement is, in my mind at least, the absolute best value in current matchmaking. At less than $300, nothing else can offer such a solid Swiss made movement, sapphire crystal, and such a fantastic original design. Yes, you may argue that it is lacking the hand finishing and refinement of an Omega or Rolex. However, I believe this watch offers...
Hamilton Khaki Field Auto vs Vaer A5 Field White - Best Sub $1k Automatic Field Watch?
มุมมอง 24K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Here are two of my favorite field watches and two of the best field watches south of around $1600 (that is where Weiss Field Watches start and those seem like a significant step up from these two though I have not had any personal experience with Weiss Watches yet). Both of these watches are amazing and I hope this comparison is helpful and entertaining.

VAER A5 Field White USA Automatic - Initial Review and Brief History
มุมมอง 10K2 ปีที่แล้ว
A fantastic field watch with real American roots! Vaer may be rather new to the scene but I propose that they should be strongly considered as solid tool watch options in the sub $1500 price bracket. If the A5 and A7 were around when I got my Hamilton Khaki Field Auto, I may well have ended up with this watch instead!
Orbita Watch Winder Thoughts - Short Ramble
มุมมอง 9662 ปีที่แล้ว
Just got my first watch winder! I would not have bought a watch winder myself, but it came along with my Grand Seiko and I am quite glad I have it. Pretty sweet accessory to a watch collection. Big time saver if you want to keep a watch wound and always ready to go. Plus, I think it looks super cool.
Seiko 5 SNK807 - Best Mechanical Watch Under $100? - Long Term Review
มุมมอง 20K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The Seiko 5 SNK is the best value mechanical watch available today. It is enjoyed and appreciated by both people who are totally new to watches as well as to seasoned collectors. As such, the SNK has built up a huge following and is a top recommendation for those looking for their first mechanical watch. I have owned mine for over six years now and still consistently wear it in my rotation of w...
Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 - Full Review and History
มุมมอง 96K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Well known to watch enthusiasts as the "value proposition" watch, the Tissot Gentleman does indeed offer a fantastic array of features at a great price including great looks, an 80hr power reserve, and silicon balance spring. I do really enjoy this watch and always recommend it when people ask me for ideas on what their first Swiss automatic watch should be. However, it does have one arguably m...
Tissot Carson Premium Lady - Best Women's Watch Under $750
มุมมอง 26K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I would highly recommend this watch to any women looking for a high quality timepiece that will look fantastic in a variety of settings. Between the looks, build quality, Swiss automatic movement, and classic design language, the Tissot Carson Premium Lady is one heck of a watch. In my opinion, it is easily the best entry level Swiss made automatic watch on the market. My mom, sister and I rece...
Grand Seiko SBGH277 High Beat Watch Review
มุมมอง 29K3 ปีที่แล้ว
When making my decision of getting this watch, there was very little content out there covering it so I hope this review is interesting and helpful! I have been enjoying this watch immensely for a few months now. I worked with Nick at Exquisite Timepieces and definitely recommend them to anyone interested in Grand Seiko. www.exquisitetimepieces.com (239) 227-2932 Camera: Sony a7iii amzn.to/3ub4...
Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38mm Full Review and History
มุมมอง 83K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I have owned my Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38mm for 6 years now and thought I would share my experiences with this watch! What a phenomenal timepiece indeed. It is without question one of the best if not the best Swiss automatic watch under $600. Very thankful for my parents who kindly gifted me this watch many years ago. It will always be very special to me. Back when I was given this watch, Au...
I just stumbled on this video and i have the same but with a metal band and your video style is to the point and very well put together.
A true field watch has no business having a leather strap, you're basically making it a water-sensitive piece. Slap a fabric one on there and you got yourself a true field beater ready for anything!
I have the same model and it’s beautiful. Mine is on a nato strap
Nice video! You kind of look like Mark Zuckerberg 😂
Finally got One last week
My 4R is running about + 10 sec a day. My grand seiko running +5 after the service center screwed it up and has never run the same since
I always forget the time when I look at my watch and feel stupid that i have to look at it again 😂😂😂😂
so what about Hamilton Khaki field automatic 38mm ???
The editing and your enthusiasm is wonderful!
I was torn between getting the Gentleman or the Open Heart Gentleman. I think I've settled on getting the Gentleman (blue dial), the open heart is interesting but a bit too flashy for me.
They're both basic time and date steel sports watches in the GADA category but that's it. The dials are very different up close, hands, the type of indices, the lume etc. If you hadn't mentioned the OP I wouldn't have entered my mind when I was looking at the Gentleman.
Nice to see no cyclops on this model.
Great review, the green one is my next pick up.
Hamilton's water resistance problem is scary. Why even a cheap chinese Parnis can stand under 10 bars of water pressure, but Hamilton soak water even from surface swimming..
Melhor um Orient por 200 dólares
Gostaria de saber porque o relógio Tissot é tão caro,so marca horas e o calendário do mês, deveria valer no máximo 200 dólares
That's a nice watch if it didn't have the Powermatic 80 in it. Buying a Tissot with a beat rate of 21,6 00 beats per hour (imo) defeats the purpose of buying a Swiss watch. The unmolested ETA2824-2 has a beat rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. that makes the second counter sweep so much smoother. I do get why they dropped the beat rate, it was to get a higher power reserve. My other problem with Powermatic 80 movements is the escapement wheel and the pallet fork are made from plastic. using plastic in a movement that cost a fair amount of money seems a bit wrong. I sure can't argue that. It's a very beautiful looking watch though.
Got mine last year.puts a smile on my face whe i see it everytime. It's just such a beatiful watch.
Thanks. I just buy one
Abgefahrnes Teil.tolle Uhr
Is'n Geschenk für mein Patenkind.Geiles Teil!😂
Great review and congrats on your new career at grad school. Don't worry about the OP comparison; 99% of the general population know nothing about Rolex and all the hoopla surrounding it.
Dude, try not to change day/date when hands are between 9 and 3, you might mess up the watch. Got a manta ray edition, same thing, one of the best looking dials ever.
Gent xl is definitely the bestest of best in my opinion..
Love your enthusiasm and joy for the Milgauss! Congratulations.
Hi, What size is the wideness of your wrist (upper side of your wrist)? My wrist is 6.69 inch and upper side of my wrist is about 60mm You think it’s gonna be look bog on my wrist?
it isnot hard to beat it is impossible to beat this watch.
You’re lucky, yours has the high beat 2824-2 movement. Only the low beat powermatic unit is available now :-(
I expected e.g. the missing regulator to be a con that you would mention. Sure, it looks similar to the Rolex, but that's just the way "modern-classic" watches look like. The Longines Conquest looks like that, the King Seiko too...
It’s beats 6 times a second. So it is not an eta movement.
how did you get this watch? their a5 models looks completely different on their website.
Think you don’t know anything about watch. Free pal
Did not you repair it ? It got repaired by its self?!
It is possible that when you swim you put more pressure on the watch compared to when your watch falls into the water (100 m)!
Ive had mine (silver dial) for a month. I absolutely love it. Don’t share your complaint, though I wouldn’t ever spend 6000 dollars on a watch. The gentleman gives you a luxury feel without emptyimg your pocket.
Thickness is not 12mm!!! It’s around 10.5mm
I got this same model way back in 2005, with the 7S26A movement for under $50. Still wear it today after 19 years, still functioning well. Hopefully, I can get a few more years out of it.
My only problem with the watch is I should of bought it twenty years ago.
This watch feels like something I would like to wear for the rest of my life.
The Rolex Datejust was my dreamwatch, but even in the secondhand market was too much money for me, This Tissot would fill my dream 😊
Why would Rolex be the standard? They don't set the bar in my opinion. At some point, every watch is an homage of another watch. They're watches!
Great video. Amazing shots. I agree with your comments regarding the dial - the videos/pictures wont do it justice. Seeing it in the flesh is an experience
I have the exact same watch - and I love it! I agree the dial is so mesmerizing and the fine details really shine through a variety of ways. I messed up (lost) the pin & collar system when adjusting the bracelet so I was forced to throw the silicone strap on and I love it even more! So comfortable I think I’ll keep it on!!
Please.. which watch is better? what do you recommend between Tissot Carson automatic ladies and Seiko Presage Zen? Thank you!
And what do you think about the battle between Hamilthon Khaki KING vs Vaer A5 Field White?
Finishing and dial aside. I honestly prefer the case design of the Gentleman better than the Oyster. The bezzle design of the Oyster makes the watchface feel a bit cramped. On the Gentleman, the watchface looks a bit larger than it is. I don't think anyone would confuse the gentleman for a rolex for that reason alone.
Bought my Tissot Gentleman yesterday. Love this piece so much.
Which color?

Your friends never heard of a mechanical watch? So those deep thinkers you hung with thought watches in the 19th century all ran on batteries? Sheesh. Good lord.🙄
Haha, yes it sounds crazy to me now but most people do not know or think about those things
Being in the service for many years I mainly used gshock; however, now I'm starting to get into watches. I recently bought my first automatic watch and am really enjoying learning about other brands. This was a great video! Very informative. I'd have to go with the VAER for being less expensive and having better features.
I think the open heart is the better version gentleman
Didn’t know Mark Zuckerberg has a TH-cam channel 😂. , great review though
