Thanks a lot, Luis! I followed your steps and found out the reason why my horn didn't work was also due to the clock spring. Especially what you did for testing the combination relay was very helpful. Now it's working again after replacement, thanks a lot!

its an mot pass no question about it. The tester would get points on his licence for that AND the presenter would win any appeal. You cant just invent a reason for rejection it has to come from the mot testers manual. All the tester does is test to vosa standards

Hi Luis. There are some good prices for diagnoses tools. Can you recomand one? Do you use the Autel MK906Pro? If i remember good you said something about an autel pro tool in some old video. Thanks, and all the best.
Well, I would just argue that although was easy reach, you would might need to palpably look for it... that could instinctively make you to take the eyes of the road to look for it as well... I am not sure what the rules are on that... All I know was that this one was failed because of it... 👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs That placement of the horn switch is no more stupid than having the horn on the indicator stork like Ford do on some of their vehicles.
That seperate button for the horn IS NOT a fail! It's fully acceptable as some screen wash motor would be. The presenter should appeal that wrong decision, he would win as there is no RFR (reason for refusal) for a switch in the wrong position it's ridiculous! Ask the tester for the RFR there isn't one
@@drivewasher you show me where it says if the marked horn doesn't work to press every button on the dashboard to find a temporary horn, my argument is if they had marked it it would be easier to spot.
@@Alanw74 you can’t just make rfr’s up we have to use a dedicated reason for refusal that’s actually in the manual. It a pass all day long. I might advice it as well. Still a pass
Agree, I am normally a VW guy but what these things are capable of is simply mind blowing. Around here, they are being used as company cars for forestry companies and then bought by people to haul wood, some being basically used as forwarders. Indestructible stuff, they have an oil level light on the dash for a reason. Basically the only maintenance they get is the oil topped up when the light comes on.
Interesting, technically, if the car failed the MOT you are not supposed to drive it unless to a place to get it fixed, even if there is some MOT left, once it has failed it shouldn't be driven until it passes again.
@1australianbeacon 😅 You have clearly not watched the video... Don't make a fool of yourself with pointless comments... If you had watched, you would know how wrong you are... You have no idea... 👍👍👍
@LMAutoRepairs i gave up you took to long explaining other thing that was irrelevant. You didn't even know what relays you were looking at.. learn from your mistakes.. the steering wheel works when you turn the wheel explain that is 1 min.... not on a tangit... dust on contacts id say..
@1australianbeacon You are still wrong... That's why it is important to explain things, especially for people like you, who like to just assume things... I explain whatever I want for the length of time I want... If you want to make wrong assumptions because you don't want to spend some extra time learning, then don't... I know what a relay does, but yes, I don't know what every relay is for, nor you do, nor anyone... I am humble enough to know what I don't know, and learn as I go along... 👍👍👍
@LMAutoRepairs no you are wrong.. your the one who gives the type of Fuel used when talking about a faulty Horn. 🤣 you could hear the light come on as you said it. Simple Jack.😚🤣
Why do people do that It's actually harder to put in the aftermarket switch instead of just replacing whatever is damaged it just don't make any sense It's not like it's complicated that's an old car It uses simple systems just a switch/clockspring relay and fuse simple
And it is also unfair to the customer. Feeding them the line "it would be very tricky to fix so I've bypassed it" is basically admitting "I am a clueless fella and can't/am too lazy to figure out a simple wiring diagram". And still, they charged labour and parts for the "repair", I can imagine...
I really dont understand this. Such a simple solution, they just needed to check a few simple things.. but no.. like 30 seconds in, my thought was "clock spring" and then Luis is like "likely a clockspring, but lets check". I think to my self... I am a DIYer who is getting skilled a this stuff. How people who do this for a living miss such simple things? it just baffles me...
