Automotive locksmith here. You should call up some smiths in your area and network We’re not finding a LOT of people that have non-Locksmith starting issues we can refer, and a Smith can help you get through some thing like this in minutes with the proper equipment, a im608 really only does some stuff and a zed bill is basically worthless garbage 4c chips are Notorious for reading in the the programmer and not in the car. If ever you see a glass 4c then you KNOW range problems are guaranteed. And I can tell that the broken transponder is a cheap Chinese clone, note the bright copper windings in the one you harvested from the ford key, that’s a proper 4c
Yes... lesson learned here... for sure!😋 I don't do many keys to be fair, not is a field I am too interested in investing took much... It is nice to be able to do them every now and then though...😋 Thank you for watching and for your comment! 👍👍👍
Key is, i believe, JMA brand. Big aftermarket brand like Silca and Keyline. The key reader coil on the car isn't that strong. The tools you used having a stronger coil because of the programming function, so it reads better. but nice video once again.
It's a great fix Luis but you should have followed your gut feeling. However, nobody would have learned anything. Damaged transponders are NOT to be trusted. Had it on an old Mondeo . Exactly the same. I understand your way of thought and it is perfect content 👍👍but next time you see a damaged transponder you will tell your client that your first act of business is to write a new one. Regardless if it reads in the XP or the Z bull. Jut for your own peace of mind.
Hi mate nice video wonder if fox mine as I have same problem for 6 weeks had diagnostic done from toyota dealership they suggested it may be ecu but I have had pit after programming and it still not starting its 2009 yaris sr just parked it up and couple days later dose not starting even put new battery would be nice if can fix mine
It happened quite a few times that the chip broke because it is made of replacement glass. It is always better to use a carbon chip. It is possible with both a super chip and an original one.
Hi, Great video i have a 2002 yaris and have lost all keys if i send you my ecu and a toyota key precut for my car would you be able to read the ecu and programme the key to it ?
Hello, i've done my research lately and i opted to go with the im508 and the XP400pro package (will get gbox2 and imkpa later) -- the 508 and xp400 has exactly the same functions as the 608 and a third of the subscription... and it does not have capabilities close to the maxisys you have... Why did you not get the 508 as you have the MaxySys? I will get the MS909 too to complement it.
Hi There is minor but important differences between them... Yes, having the IM908P make the aquirance of the 608 a bit of an overkill... To be fair I am not sure, at the time I could afford it, and it made sense to get the more completed version... Boys toys I guess...😋 👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs I know exactly what you are saying, i feel you bro :)) I went to a locksmith conference organized by my autel dealer and the sales rep of autel europe was there for Q&A and he said im508 paired with xp400pro is 1:1 with the 608... even basic diagnostics now, with a much much lower subscription... Does the im608 not do everything the IM908P does?
No... just because the 608 comes with the J2534... so allows you to program and do coding for example... the 508 doesn't... But of course if you have a tool that covers that, (like I have the MS908P), then those functions are just being duplicated on both tools... 👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs Exactly my point... you should've gone with the 508 with the cheap 350$ subscription instead of paying yearly subs for coding and programming when you have the maxysis... not 100% sure if that is redundant now when you have the 608... I have decided i will be getting the MS909 since i'd prefere a separate oscilloscope for debugging...
Hello! I bought used ECU from 1.3 mk1 for my 1.0mk1 (they have the same catalogue code). I tried to "reprogram" the immobilizer to it(or vice versa), in "method" by jumping pins 4 and 13 on the OBD-II port for 45 minutes with ignition ON, but nothing has changed, the car turns the starter, but engine does not start. (with old ECU again - it starts with no problem) Can someone tell me what my mistake is?
I haven't used many others, so can't really compare, that said, has not really let me down, so can't really complain... So, yes, it is a quite nice tool... 👍👍👍
Luis, what OBD tool for professional level diagnostics would you recommend? So many chinese copies of copies of copies that I don't know which one to choose. :)
There is really no that simple... as which one is the best... There is tools that work better on some system, and other tools on other systems... I know my opinion is biased, but autel is a good option...😋 👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs, thanks for the input, I was looking also at XTool D8, any experience with these? Mainly for european cars, like VW/Audi, BMW, Opel, Mercedes .
Dear friend, you are using an inappropriate chip, you are supposed to burn a 4c carbon chip and not Ford glass and I am writing to you from 32 years of experience in the field

This was the correct way of doing it, as you seen, the car started and run OK... the chip I used was on a ford key, it could be from an Audi, or whatever... if you have all that experience, you know exactly that... 👍👍👍 Thank you for watching!

yes great about transponder but what was the idle issue that was causing it not to start , does fuel pump stop running? and HOW DID YOU FIX?

I am an automotive locksmith , I see this now and then when working on cars, you would’ve lost transponder signal to coil , as it was a weak signal.
I know that know...
Was just puzzling me that the tools were seeing the transponder just fine...

On the next model Yaris with this error (it's common), cranking the engine 10 times or so, th ECU will permanently disable it self.

No... never bothered me to much to honest...

You could put new transponder at first time
Like any repair... Once you know the problem, you could always start there...😋

Why did they go through all the effort to remove the engine light instead of just fixing the IAC valve
🤷♂️
You should charge them extra when you discover you have been lied to
😋
Would be nearly every time... lol

That engine sounds horrible it must be seriously down on compression
I bet what happened was the battery went so dead the ECU forgot the code and he lost the original key or dropped and broke it
Possibly...
