Definitely try it with ANC Off, it’s not only the bass that improves, contrary to what most reviews say. The higher tones also become more open and detailed. The ANC is definitely smoothing the sound as a side effect, and the bass gets louder with ANC possibly due to resonance, as it is not only louder but also slightly muddier with ANC On.
How long have you run them for? I have had several B&W headphones, the PX5, PX7, and the PX 7 s2 and all of them improved considerably after time. Run-in is a factor. The older generation B&W’s all produced problems and were replaced several times. Each time I got the new replacement pair I experienced the same pattern with a run-in period of time improving the sound considerably. My next pair of headphones is going to be the PX8
@@opaz.They need up to 400 hours. Now mine have, they are exceptional. Nevertheless, enjoyed your experienced and critical (prior to run in) review, and your excellent channel 👌
Great video, Great discussion! Thank you man. Love the channel. This video made me subscribe. Is there any chance you can compare the px8 to the px7 s2e??
For me still inferior in sound to the Bathys and the 5909. Couldn't get it right to my taste with the app, either. Waiting for the H95 impressions :) Or, as a matter of fact, its successor :). It will be interesting to see the next generation of all these headphones.
Hey Opaz would the 5909 be able to safely plug into a DAC for improved passive wired sound quality? Do you think they would match or maybe even surpass the sound quality you would get from a good wired headset like something from Meze, Dan Clark or Sennheiser?
The 5909 is already a great passive headphone without a DAC and I've no doubt whatsoever it will surpass many. Meze & Dan, not sure (haven't listened to those) but definitely many, many others
How do u like these compared to the BO H95? I'm a music guy more than talking on phone so I'm looking for sound. I listen to all genres esp Metallica, NIN Nirvana sone rap and house. How do they sound compared to the BO H95s.
@@opaz. Amazon has them on sale, $530 , so I grabbed them. Mostly for comparison to Bose Ultra. I hope I won’t like them, because I already have too many headphones. Hahaha I don’t expect the comfort to be better on PX8 , but if they sound a lot better than Bose Ultra, I will keep them.
I bought and own the PX8. I also tried them all, the bathys, h95, and 5909. Think the px8 has the worst sound, but the best value in term of price. Also in my opinion they are the best looking and quality wise. Not too big or in your face like bathys, more classy. Also px8 has the best NC among them. Not Sony level though.
@G Wat when I said, it's worst sound mean when I made the comparison against the H95, 5909 and Bathys. That doesn't mean it sounded bad. It just the other sounded more natural, cleaner and detail. I'm not even talking about volume loud or soft. BUT the H95 has problem with being to soft in volume. I guess if people used to listening loud H95 is no good. I have no issues because I only listen max at 60.
@@orangedan5424 I listened to the H95 yesterday and it sounded really good but the volume was low a lot of other people have been complaining about that too. I was so close to buying it it was a display and he was giving me a good percentage off I just couldn't get past the volume part some songs did sound good but most of them sounded like it was the middle of the volume lol even though it was up. I Made a phone call to somebody and they said I sounded better on a focal bathys But they said the H95 didn't sound that bad either but it was more clearer with the bathys. I'm curious to try the PX8 but that price for the H95I don't want to miss out on that they have one left but I cannot return it because it's a final sale due to it being a display
@G Wat In all honesty you can't go wrong with any of the listed headphones. For me though, looks also important since these headphones are meant for portability and you will be using a lot on the road. I don't want to look stupid or weird so it make my choices easier, either PX8 or H95. However price big difference here in Australia, about $500, which I don't think they worth that much of sound. However if you ask me had they been for the same price I would probably take H95. Their touch control is just a lot cooler. I can live with the lower vol. There are some tweaks you can do to increase the vol. I am pretty sure of it, but since I don't have H95 can't confirm if they work.
@@orangedan5424 OK I can get the h95 for a good price the salesman was a nice guy. I'm gonna order the px8 just to try it because I get 30 days if not I can send back. My friend told me when I said the h95 not being loud he said what the hell u wanna go deaf lol but I like loud when I workout. If u can tell me how to increase it I will try I like the touch controls too u can just swipe to go to next song or back and I like the volume controls as well. @@opaz. I never said they sounded better. Sound quality is subjective. I said the finish and attention to details was amazing. I love the McLaren edition with the orange accent.
I tried the bO H95 today and they didn't sound loud when I demo them at the BO store. I did get a new phone and will be switching to them tomorrow. I wonder if it'll sound better with the new phone. I was listening to Metallica with them and it wasn't loud. I really wanted them but needed them a lil louder unless it will be louder and sound better once the app is downloaded
I have the B&O H95 and owned the PX8 briefly. I returned the PX8. They're overrated. The frequency response on these headphones make no sense. The low end is bloated and the highs are all over the place. They aren't cohesive.
I have the Px8 Black. Love them. Build quality is superb
Absolutely agree, the wired option and EQ in the app made PX8 sound really good. And i bought that for $450 on sale. Love it

I just got a pair of these for £399. Promised myself I wouldn’t open them until Christmas though 😭

Have to say what a pleasure to hear a rewiew whre you know what you are talking about...Quality review...

Agree absolutely fantastic headphones . I use a -2 on base

I have Bose ultra , B&O H95 , B&W PX8 and XM5 . for me home and work headphones . Work in Worthing so didn’t know B&W history do now

Is the clicking in the sound of this video a feature or a fault?

Yes, I do have a pair of better-looking headphones: I got the PX8 in the new Royal Burgundy colorway, with gold accents.
Hi ! With an iPhone would you consider the AirPods Max too ?
I had a very short demo (sound only) of them and was impressed. I would definitely recommend them for a demo
