      100% in agreement
      And because of that misplaced bad rep it has, its relatively cheap (and i emphasize relatively)
      Probably one of the cheapest ways into a Ferrari

      I'm glad these are finally being appreciated, i love mine and i've had a joy owning it. Although mine is a manual so it's a bit more fun. Over all it's a perfect car. Pretty cheap, reliable (especially for a ferrari), subtle, powerful, and you know manual 5.75 na v12.

    I have owned a 612 for 15 years now and living with it is like any other relationship. It takes patience and love. But you get far more in return than you ever deserve. It is a fantastic car. Huge and imposing. Very rare and always produces a great reaction from passers by. The exhaust sound is wonderful, the overrun fantastic and the sound of the engine at speed is beautiful. The car is great to drive around town, but it comes into its own at about 90 mph plus. An incredible drive for a 19 year old car. I will never change mine. My son will be the plucky recipient of it when I can no longer get insurance to drive it.

    this is one of the most beautiful Ferrari's ever, timeless. It was not initially loved because supercars were all becoming wedge shaped, now I can't tell a corvette from a mclaren. The 612 is timeless

    I’m one of the few that absolutely LOVE the design of the 612. The design line that continues through the headlights is perfect. The tail end is so smooth and complements the long silky front end. Interior wise it is gorgeous and ties up a timeless design in my opinion and a car I’d love to have in my garage or better yet as my daily. The FF is another winner but the 612 is the one for me. Viva Ferrari, viva Italia!

    A very nice review of the Ferrari 612. I think you captured all the highlights rather well, and I say that as an owner of a 612. They are a great front engine V12 grand tourer rather than a mental mid engine Ferrari sports car. I know this makes them less popular with most Ferrari fans, but with the 612 I can take four adults on a day trip or out to dinner in luxury and comfort. It is a fantastic cruiser and it looks much more stately and impressive in real life than in videos. It is long, sleek, and has a lot of interesting lines. Also, despite how subtle the car appears, it is very fast, with great brakes and great handling, and, of course, that V12 roar when you push it.

  • @endlessmotion2255
    @endlessmotion2255 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Back when this thing came out I wasn't bowled over by the looks, thought the front end was a bit dodgy and and lacking something. But over the years it's really grown on me and it's right up there as one of the best looking modern Ferrari V12's IMO. I work a few warehouse units down from a supercar engineering/tuning company and last year they had one these in the exact same spec as this one and my god, in person it's absolutely stunning. I don't think there's a better colour for this car than black with the yellow brake calipers. That concave bodywork along the doors and the curvacious rear end.....gorgeous machine.

    Nice review, I pulled the trigger on a 599 GTB back in April of this year but if I needed a 4 seater the 612 would be very high on the list. I love the subtle styling and feel it has aged extremely well! If you ever get the chance to review a 599 take it you won't be disappointed!

  • @alexandereverhart654
    @alexandereverhart654 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    That's not a normal 612 Scaglietti. It is the OTO model which stood for One To One and only 50 were made. The dead giveaway is that it has the manettino (the only 612s to have one) and the panoramic roof, which was on option only on the OTO and roughly half had that roof. The other difference with the OTO is that it had the dual plate clutch from the 599 (whereas the regular 612 had a single plate clutch) and it also had the Superfast F1 transmission which shifted in half the time as a regular 612. They are THE 612 to buy if you want to drive it on a regular basis.

    Sergio Scaglietti was the designer/manufacturer of car bodies of Enzo Ferrari in '50/'60
    He came from the same city (Modena) with the same level of education as Enzo
    the 612 is a tribute to him (who died in 2012) and to his taste and ability
    a beautiful car, designed by PininFarina studio, largely underrated

    Really nice car. Many detals seems same as on my Maserati Quattroporte 2006. The problem with the sticky knobs I solve through cleaning with Isoproylalcohol. It takes an effort, but it works - many luxoriuos cars have this problem. The automated single clutch works very well in my Maserati as well, in spite of many negative reports (probably it was a problem in the early years).

    As a Lamborghini fan the 612 Scaglietti is the only Ferrari i would have in my garage the design is epic . Super classy design with beautiful lines. There was also a warm white color ( yellowish) with the red trim interior and also red leather seats , that was the best 612 colors and design. ALSO being a GT car is also comfortable . The only good looking Ferrari since the 612 is the Ferrari Roma but the Roma is too Aston Martinish . This was a pure Ferarri . It could have been awesome if it was a manual

    Interesting that it’s for sale through a dealer and the buttons need to be refurbished. For a vehicle of that caliber I would expect those sort of things to be fixed in preparation for sale rather than left for the next owner. It says something about the type of business they are. Might be worth passing that on to them, particularly when in their blurb on the car they wrote “ we have been over this car with a fine tooth comb” Let them know that meaningless dribble actually reduces the credibility of their brand when the product doesn’t match. :)
