I didn't have the heart to watch this whole thing. This was a waste of a debate. There was no point in the minister being there. He said jack squat to sway the opinion "police are out of control". I have lost more confidence in them after this episode. I am a good citizen, haven't broken any laws besides the few sweets stolen from the sweet jar as a child; and for the life of me I can't understand why er'time I come across the police, I get nervous and my heart starts pounding as if I've done something wrong. The un-comfortability of seeing or rather being near the men in blue is overwhelming! The eye kept on them needs to be strengthened. Cameras in their vehicles and police vests accompanied by audio devices to know of what is being said as they patrol. An outside organisation that investigates the happenings within police stations and its officers. It's clear that a police officer won't give his fellow colleague a harsh sentence or no sentence at all for a committed crime. That our prisons are full of 'criminals' that were charged for petty things because our "protectors" are to lazy to go and look for the real criminals. I wish that one day my fellow youth can step up and take control to change this beautiful nation for the better.

To be a cop in South Africa? A good intentioned person would have to be nuts, desperate or both.
