    It looks very very good. I would place it and then i will just put the best top sunrider on the frot part. Just to have that "Jeep freedom" in the front, but on the back it looks VERY GOOD

      Yes sir. Getting a few things done. This made a big difference in interior quietness and keeping the heat out.
      Also if you know anyone that has a JT (Gladiator) and wants the Mopar hardtop headliner let me know. Mine is for sale.

    Looks very nice. This should have been standard from the factory. For such expensive car, this should have been included. It's redicilous that we have to finish the car.

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, and the factory headliner option that’s over $500 only covers about 65 to 70% of the top and it’s not very sick or insulative. I believe a full headliner like this should’ve been with Mopar put as a factory option. More than likely it’s because of the utilitarian nature of the vehicle, and a full headliner would be harder to clean if you were off Roading with the doors off and the top on, but I don’t know many people that do that. Usually if the doors are off and you’re off reading the top is off also

    Curious where you sourced the clips for that panel on the top (the ones the window place broke on yours). Mine was missing several as well. I've not been able to find those little white clips anywhere.

    What sound deadening made the biggest difference for you? The roof or the doors/ rest of the body?

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The roof for sure.
      The floor is next.
      Doors are last as they already have a decent amount of sound dining on the inside of the door skin.

    Hi, I'm writing from Italy, excellent video on installing the Coverking Topliner, I would like to buy it too and install it on my Wrangler Rubicon 4exe plug-in hybrid, I would also like to put the sound-absorbing layer, somewhere I read that this would cause problems reception with the satellite antenna above the soundbar, have you encountered reception problems?
    Thanks

    • @KnightsGarage

      I did not have any issues and listened to satellite radio all the time.

      @@KnightsGarage Thanks for replying, I was concerned about this having read this review:
      Review by Todd K. on 13 Nov 2021 review stating Great just one thing This makes the interior feel finished on a hard top wrangler. It also is great for noise and temperature control. The one thing is the covers for the cables in the back don’t fit well and we had to add some Velcro tape to keep them from falling off all the time. Last thing is we added some sound deadening under the cover and it works great but expet satellite radio signals to be hosed.
      So if you add additional sound deading just plan on relocating the sat antenna from the start.

    You said that gorilla tape sucks. Did you use any of it? How is it holding up? Any sagging?

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tried to use it but it wouldn’t stay stuck to the top or the headliner. I bought some sticky contact paper from Amazon that was very similar to what topliner used and that worked good. Had a bunch of hot days before I sold it and everything felt nice and stuck. Definitely no sagging anywhere.

    80mm is just over 3 inches so that sound deadening material was not measured in that scale.

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      It said 80 mill so I assumed it meant millimeters. Maybe it was a different measurement.

    I came back to this video. Thinking why not spray the edges with something black? so you don't see tiny bit of white here and there? I am thinking to do this project soon and wondering what other people have done? Are there any other videos on youtube? Maybe spray with something that turns into a tiny layer of rubber or plastic? Or just black paint before you install this carpet.

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a great idea! I made this video because I couldn’t find any others besides the one the company that made the headliner put out which isn’t a very good video.

      @@EddiTaru is not better. It didn’t have nearest much coverage and it wasn’t a seamless cover. It was only a little sections here and there. How on earth do you peel the backing off of the adhesive strips they supplied?? I can't for the life of me get the shiny side to peel off without peeling the adhesive off with it. I have ruined two pieces now.

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adhere them to the hardtop panels first and then peel it off. I had to put it back down a time or two in a couple of places because it wanted to lift off even though I prepped it very well just have to be patient some little spots came up with the backing paper I wasn’t too worried.

    • @slomofo1
      @slomofo1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KnightsGarage I was quite hung up on the "paper side up" mention in your walkthrough. But that's not really how it works, at least with the adhesive I got. There's no way to remove the shiny clear plastic portion, while leaving adhesive on the paper backing. I had to pull the paper backing off, stick the strip to the panel, and then peel the clear plastic off when I'm ready to put the headliner down. Or at least that's the only way it's working for me. I'm doing it one panel at a time, so I'm doing the Freedom Panel number one first, and about to put the headliner down.

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s strange it should be rather easy to pull the plastic backing off. I guess whichever way it works for you is the way to do it. It seems like they have variations in the adhesive pieces they give you sometimes also. Mine were all good and all present.

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah. I think I mentioned this in the video but in case I didn’t the double sided gorilla tape that I tried to use sucked. I would’ve cut some 1 inch wide strips off of the large pieces of the glue paper. They include in the kit to use on the edges in various places.

      It worked really well. Kept the temps down and a lot more controllable. And made it at least three times as much quiet as factory.
