Ester you are an amazing young woman! Don’t tell the others but you are my favorite. Have you ever thought about becoming a teacher for children with special needs? You are kind, gentle, and patient which is what children respond well to.
I loved this video! Out of all the kids Esther is the one I relate to most. Both shyer and quiet. And when I was a kid all I wanted to be when I grew up was a mum! I'm in no rush now, especially as I have found out it may be harder for me to have a healthy child. But I have also wanted to adopt for as long as I can remember so I love following your family
well my answer to that as a Beaver Scout leader in Scotland is get yourself volunteering for your local group, I went back to it at 53 ans I'm having a blast.
Ester will make a fantastic mum. She is so thoughtful and kind. She is a real credit to you and Mike (as all the kids are). I’m quite introverted myself and I really like how you encourage her to socialise more but at the same time let her embrace her quieter side. So much of this world is geared up for extroverts sometimes us introverts are left feeling we’re wrong. 🙂
Smudgie33 my 12 year old daughter is introverted. She really dislikes socialising of any kind. Also having a conversation with her is like trying to get blood out of a stone when the conversation is related to any aspect of her. Do you have any ideas, advice, hints or tips related to things that maybe helped you live in this predominantly extroverted world? Hugs.
Siobhan Beith first thing is to be careful and make sure she knows that it's okay to be an introvert, and not to try to make her someone she is not. Trying to make her talk if she doesn't want to will likely just make her want to talk even less, I know that's how I felt about it as a kid. Doing what you can to let her know that she has a safe space with you to talk when she wants to will likely yield better results. Saying this not as a parent or educator, but as someone who used to be painfully shy.
strawberryowes thank you for this. How are things with you now? Has living an introverted life ever impeded your happiness? As with most parents, my only wish for my daughter is for her to be safe and happy.
Siobhan Beith oh that is lovely to hear. May I suggest you read the book 'Quiet' by Susan Cain? It helped me so much to feel that I wasn't alone, and to feel more confident and comfortable in my introversion, and it might help you understand us introverts a bit better :) And yes, of course being an introvert has had its difficulties in our current world made for extroverts.(ex. I had to learn to speak up if I wanted something, as many adults would give stuff to the noisy demanding kids, but assume I didn't want anything because I wasn't making a giant fuss, type of thing. Which is a useful thing to take with you when you go into the job market.) But like Esther here, life experiences helped a lot, putting myself out there and getting out of my comfort zone from time to time taught me a lot. I've traveled solo to other countries, gone to events where I didn't know a single person, I am, as they say "adulting" just fine :) I just do it more quietly and with less frequent socialising than some
Esther, you are a beautiful young lady and I love seeing your smile. Enjoyed today but most of all Q & A with Esther. I love your family and always enjoy going places with you. I'm 76 years young and love seeing new places. Stay well and blessing to all of you.
I love Esther! She is beautiful, radiant, smart, and REAL, and she is becoming more confident, each day. I hope she starts her own channel, because I will definitely subscribe! 😍
This video makes me tear up. So many emotions. Knowing all the pain she endured for most of her life before being adopted and being transplanted into a new world with new people who speak a different language and to get to live this amazing life. I truly hope that one day Esther and each of the other children find peace in their life that lead to adoption. ♡ I'd love to hear more about those feelings if any of the children ever feel ready to share them. ♡
I often think imagine if she was still in China being bullied abd such low self esteem. Like she lost her best friend because of her back! You'd think Daniel would be most damaged by his younger life and Esther would have fared better being in a family. That saddened me, knowing her foster mum didn't really help her. I connect with Esther my personality when I was a child was most like her
Sweet Peas, I believe it is Pearl that has issues with her back, not Esther. Nicole Papole, I had always assumed the kids had all been adopted already. Whether they are or not it looks like they have found peace with the Knorpps and this wonderful lifestyle they are living. I'm so incredibly forgetful. I will have to rewatch the introduction videos again.
Yes, they're all adopted but my comment was more to the life that they led prior to being adopted. And as amazing as the Knorpps are and the life the get to live now, it doesn't mean they don't mourn the life they lost as a child. This whole family is wonderful and an inspiration. The kids are all wonderful and I wish them the best.
I apologise, I misunderstood. You are definitely right about the probability of them being haunted by their past memories. It's tragic what some children have to go through.
Absolutely love the relationship you have with Esther - with all your kids, actually! I'm a 20 year old university student now, and calling my mom to talk about my day and ask about my two younger siblings is something I look forward too still!
Esther, Many make up artists also style hair. Like for weddings or fashion shows etc. They do peoples make up and hair for whatever event they are a part of. I also like the badge idea for the hikes for eve. She can see and show off her accomplishments and have bragging rights with proof!
Loved this convo with Esther! She's such a sweet kid, and I think she's so lucky to have you both to help her work through those layers. I'm not sure if this is something you feel comfortable answering… But as a person who is considering older child adoption, what are the struggles that still exist? As in, it is related to cultural differences? Sadness about leaving their previous lives/friends/family? Curiosity about birth parents? Or do you think it's more "generic" to the struggles that teenagers face? (Self esteem, etc). Again, if you don't feel comfortable answering I definitely understand :) I truly wouldn't have guessed there were still ups and downs because she seems so happy and secure with you all!
hello7788 everyone bump this up! So many kids in the world that need adopting and so many people just go to adopt younger children. You're the hope left in the world 💖
You could print off or draw things like leaves , trees , houses ,rocks and other things that you are likely to see on the hike and try to get Eve to find them or point them out.
You guys should try Geocaching to get Eve to walk further. You can download an app onto your phone and it'll provide co-ordinates of the local cache's - or treasure as its called to our kids! My two kids walk lots further if it's in the pursuit of treasure x
I just love Esther. She’s so sweet. I’m curious to know all her feelings about her life before and her life now. I have an adopted daughter from china too, she’s 16, she’s been home with us since she was 12 months. She has not experienced a life in china that she can remember but lately she has asked many questions about her birth mom. Actually, not questions as much as statements, saying how her birth mom didn’t love her. I tell her she loved her so much that she wanted a better life for her. As an adoptee myself, sometimes the abandonment thing is hard to take. Feeling unwanted, especially as a child, is very hard. Even tho she knows we wanted her, love her more than life and feel so lucky to have her, sometimes the feelings still come up.
Esther would be a wonderful councilor or psychologist, especially for children in foster care or who have been adopted or with adjustment issues. Such quiet empathy and understanding and a wonderful perspective
you don't use the backpack? but maybe a good motivation is to give eve her own (non-working?) vlog camera. to inspire her to keep up and film nature and family
It is so obvious how intelligent Esther is. She has really good eye contact when speaking to others and listening to others. She is always looking like she is trying hard to understand more and learn more about people and her surroundings. I bet she would be a great linguist. It is obvious how open Esther is becoming and not quite so shy. That pretty smile will go far, too. Thanks for sharing yourself with us Esther!
From a Catholic to Mormon you guys have been a role model to so many people in every religion showing so many people the entire world and not being selfish and giving your world up so you can show them everything you guys are awesome you and your husband both
Oh Esther you are so beautiful inside and out. She has a pure gentle heart. You must be so proud of her. So lovely to hear an updated of their lives. ❤️
Esther is such a sweet young lady. She's always smiling, and always seems so polite and happy. Also, I think it's wonderful that you guys are so open with how adoption with older children can REALLY be. Y'all obviously welcome the different emotions that your children experience instead of avoiding some of the tricky thoughts and emotions. I'm sure that can be hard on everyone, but I have to think that it's so good for everyone, too.
Esther has such a dignity about her. She is A beautiful young woman with such potential. I'm so glad you took this time to share more about yourself. Thankyou
Megan, what a great way to get to know your kids and to allow them to be a part of all of us who share life with the Knorpps. Esther, you have the gentle nature of someone who will be a wonderful Mom. I love to watch you care for your little brother Jude. I watched a video recently in which your Mom suggested you create a Lifebook to help you process your feelings. I hope you have continued working on the Lifebook. My daughter who is adopted also created a Lifebook and it helped her process things like being abused before adoption. But even more, she worked on her Lifebook when she was about 14 years old, and it helped her feel more secure about her identity--what it meant for her to be adopted, and what she wanted to be when she grew up. And Esther, my daughter made it through all her feelings and she is now in her 40s. She may be older than your Mom! One day she was going through her things and she came out of the bedroom and handed me her Lifebook. She said "Here Mom, I don't need this anymore, and you deserve it." I will treasure her Lifebook forever. I know I've written a long comment,, but I hope you know that many of us out here in youtube land, think you are a wonderful young lady. God is good.
As I have watched your family on your journey Ester has always been the child to whom stands out to me! So sweet and kind. She has a special heart! We love you Ester!
Oh, I love Esther. I love that she is kind, gentle and compassionate. How far she has come under the loving guidance of her family. This interview made me tear up when she talked about working through her pain and self discovery. God has good things in store for Esther. Xoxo
You will love Finland, the summers are kind of similar to the uk but the winter is amazing. There are places that will teach you all how to dog sled and go ice fishing, there are beautiful hotels with indoor swimming pools over looking ski slopes, there is of course snow Mobil’s and tobogganing but best of all you can go with an instructor on a week long dog sled trip staying in log cabins, igloos, ice tunnels or posh hotels traveling from place to place by sledge. We fly into kittiwakes and stay at Levi falls which is beautiful and close to Santa’s village. We have been to his house, workshop, post office and even got to meet the man himself it’s just the most amazing experience you could imagine. I used to be a nanny and teaching assistant and have found stickers invaluable. Initially some children also need a reward for each sticker but in time it’s often possible to increase the number of stickers needed to get the big prize lol, smiley faces and shiny star stickers work well. You guys are amazing parents.
OMG- I love Esther so much! I think Esther has the prettiest smile on the whole world! I'm an introvert too Esther - the older I get the more I like it. Those are your strengths Esther - and they will take you far. Someday you'll be an AWESOME mom! Thanks for sharing on this video. God's blessings on you always!
Priceless !! What a beautiful family Loving all your Ireland travels. I grew up in a family of 8 kids and my youngest sister has Down Syndrome. She's an Angel. Thank you Meghan and Mike !!
Being a mom of 2 and GMA of 4 grands I know I'm not suppose to have fav's, but Ester is my fav. She is just a sweetie. I think she would be an amazing teacher💜
Thank you for sharing Esther with us. She is an amazing young woman. I would love it if you would share a few of her photos on the channel. I grew up the youngest of 6 (and an introvert) so I know how important it is to have that moment that just focuses on you.
Esther's braids are beautiful 💖thank you for sharing about your feelings and how you are working through the adoption and the feelings it has brought up. ☺️
Esther, Thank you for sharing yourself with us. You are a precious young lady and I am looking forward to a vlog. Thanks mom and dad for sharing your whole family.
Esther is so beautiful. It may be cliche to say beautiful inside and out but she really fits this description. With her artistic eye and search for origin and experience she will be very successful.
What an amazing young lady. I have always admired her, often in the background of the videos tending to others. Thank you for sharing your story, Esther!
Oh I love the talk with Esther!! Esther you are such a beautiful girl with such a gentle spirit and kind heart, I just love watching you with the kids (it’s now 2020 so I’ve seen you in action) and how patient you are !!! It’s ok to be an introvert, but it’s also wonderful for you to feel like you can fit in wherever you go and not have anxiety from it ! It would be sad if the world missed seeing you !!!! You will be a wonderful mom and whatever else you chose, maybe teacher or nurse. But I can really see you helping others through difficult times and being a mentor to those who may have pain in their past that needs to be worked through. Your experiences have been hard but that is exactly why your compassion is strong and so valuable. I can see you becoming an author and a traveling motivational speaker, you have a lot of wisdom and I think God wants to use you !!! I can’t wait to see your impact on the world !!!!
It was so wonderful to hear more from Esther. It made me quite emotional! I just wanted to reach in and give her a big hug. She is very emotionally intelligent, which is unusual in kids of her age...I hope that doesn’t sound patronising. She is very special. X
You guys are awesome, Jude is speaking so clearly now. The older kids look happy, Eve is doing well too. I have hard time understanding her but , clearly you guys know what she is saying. Love you all.
Esther, you are one popular girl in the comments section today. Rightly so, you are an amazing young lady. Your chat with Mom in front of the vlog camera was excellent. It was lovely to get to know you a little better. You did so amazingly well being brave enough to open up and tell us all these fairly personal feelings. Many people can relate to your introverted personality type, so by doing this vlog you have helped many many people feel less alone in this extroverted world. Thank you hunni for that. I will definitely be a subscriber of your own channel when it's up, looking forward to it. Hugs.
What a wonderful video. Esther has really come into her own and you can see the walls of shyness being knocked down. Esther you are becoming an amazing young woman and your responses were well thought out and articulate.
I’ve been watching since the beginning and you can tell Esther is more confident and happier. And it’s nice to see that she knows there a lot out there for her to experience.
I love all of your kids, but if I was to play favorites, I would for sure pick Esther. She is just so sweet and seems like she would be really helpful, and kind, and make a great mother one day. So I can see why she said she wants to be a mom.
Ester, if I had to pick a favorite, mind you if I was forced to, it would be you. Your smile is like your Mom's, it brightens up the room, your smile generates warmth and happiness. I know whatever you decide to do with your life, you will excel with your gentleness and kindness and genuine empathy for people. Bless you.
Thank you Esther for sharing your thoughts and feelings. My daughter is the same age as you ( 17) and she was adopted from India when she was 16 months old. I know this video was filmed a long time ago and its beautiful to see your latest videos and how you have grown into a beautiful young woman.
I relate so much to Esther ❤️ I'm the oldest of five and always loved helping my mom out with the kids . I can't wait to be a mom too ! I just love her
I know it is another 'thing' to own but our kids Strider bike has been a huge motivator for my 4 year old. My kids trade it off between them (4, 7, 8 & 9) when we hike and it's great for going down hills. Check out some of our hiking videos to see it in action. Esther has such a calm and kind demeanour- you can tell she is and will be a great friend and support to others throughout her life.
Eve is a really smart little girl, so when giving the rewards I would choose when it's Breaktime and not reward her when she stops. Try to stop her just before she would stop for a break to give her the reward. So she knows that her reward is for walking and that if she stops she's not rewarded for it. I just know how smart she is and think she would figure that out pretty quick 😊😊❤❤
Esther you are such a gentle soul. Can't imagine what you've gone through. Keep putting into words all those feelings about adoption, including the inevitable anger a kid has who cannot choose the course of her life herself. And the feelings of being stuck between a rock and a hard place. You are in good loving hands now, but you still have the right to grieve not having the choice yourself. Goes for a lot of kids, but now it's about you. As for the little ones and walking: Bring a cart/trolley they both will fit in. They'll want to walk parts of the way anyway, but you'll not create memories of painful hikes and you will be able to keep a reasonable pace. A cart can also hold gear if one or a few of you just don't want to carry it all the time. Immensely enjoying your channel and willingness to share part of your lives with us!
❤️ Great family, Great adventures , and lots of ❤️ I think a little update with each kiddo is a brilliant idea. Let all the individual personalities shine ⭐️
Ester you are an amazing young woman! Don’t tell the others but you are my favorite. Have you ever thought about becoming a teacher for children with special needs? You are kind, gentle, and patient which is what children respond well to.
As a teacher myself, I have always thought she has that spirit!
I love Esther! She's so kind & wise beyond her years!!!!
BrookesFlow I totally agree with you. She is turning into a wonderful amazing young lady. 😊
Everytime Esthers smile shows up in the vlogs, my smile shows up too :) She is just a wonderful and mature young women!
That made me smile too thank you x

how about a badge sewn on Eves' jumper for a hike, you can buy badges online or embroider them yourself

I hope Esther knows how much the youtube community loves her. Such a precious soul that came to Earth very focused on her mission to grow
You guys are...amazing parents and amazing kids!
Esther is so lovely. And I loved how Megan looked at Esther as she talked. So much a mother's love.

Esther is truly an angel.
She is wise beyond her years 💜 such an old soul.
Esther has the sweetest disposition. Thanks for a little more insight to her. Take care.
What an absolutely beautiful young lady Esther is.....she's a special person, thanks for encouraging her to share openly 😊
Also the 'Camino de Santiago de Compostela' is a really popular pilgram hike through Spain, you may like that as a family :)
Priceless !! What a beautiful family Loving all your Ireland travels. I grew up in a family of 8 kids and my youngest sister has Down Syndrome. She's an Angel. Thank you Meghan and Mike !!
Thank you so much for your public interview with Esther. She is a lovely person and well grounded.
we DO love Esther- such a sweetie!
Ester, you have a beautiful soul and it shows with your smile. You will go far.
it's nice to hear Esther's thoughts, i would love to have this kind of session with all of the kids so we could know them better
Being a mom of 2 and GMA of 4 grands I know I'm not suppose to have fav's, but Ester is my fav. She is just a sweetie. I think she would be an amazing teacher💜
Esther has such a beautiful smile! And I always notice how helpful she is, especially with the younger siblings. She's a great girl!
You are the best youtubers Ever xx
Thank you for sharing Esther with us. She is an amazing young woman. I would love it if you would share a few of her photos on the channel. I grew up the youngest of 6 (and an introvert) so I know how important it is to have that moment that just focuses on you.
Kinda weird but your hike footage inspired me to start writing a new short story so, thanks for that 😂🌸
Esther has such a beautiful spirit! Love getting to know her more. She's grown so much from the one on ones you did last time 😍
it's so amazing seeing the kids growing up day by day… especially the smaller kids are like they grew up just over night 😄😄😄😄😄
I absolutely love Esther! Such a sweet soul and seems so helpful!
Esther is so sweet! Thank you for letting us get to know her better.
Esther is a jewel. Thank you for this video highlighting her growth within the family. Wishing her all the best in her life journey.
Ester has such a beautiful spirit.
*Esther
Esther is a very special soul! What a sweetheart!
YES! A Day in the Life of the Knorpp kids via Esther vlogging! That would be a great video! 💖🇨🇦
Bless you.
Esther is amazing and beautiful. Can't wait to hear from the rest of the kids!
My son is reading The Land of Stories too. He loves them! Thanks for sharing your beautiful family with us.
Esther is soo sweet! I know the feeling as an introvert myself to go to camp and being so overwelmed. Its something you learn over time.
Such a touching conversation between mother and daughter. Esther your sweet nature shines bright, good luck with your travels x
I especially love Esther . She has such a beautiful calm spirit and is so poised
Thank you Esther for sharing your thoughts and feelings. My daughter is the same age as you ( 17) and she was adopted from India when she was 16 months old.
I know this video was filmed a long time ago and its beautiful to see your latest videos and how you have grown into a beautiful young woman.
I always wanted to be a mom and a teacher. Now I have 3 kids that I homeschool, best of both! She is such a sweet and kind girl .
Esther is so beautiful! I love how calming she is to listen to.
I relate so much to Esther ❤️ I'm the oldest of five and always loved helping my mom out with the kids . I can't wait to be a mom too ! I just love her
Esther is an amazing individual....she is so lady like - she is one of my favorites! You must be so proud of her!
Maybe Esther should explore psychology or social work. She would also be an awesome teacher or paediatrician.
Ester always comes across as such a sweet, beautiful, lovely soul ❤️ please do more of these one to one conversations, I really enjoyed this :)
Pearl is such a sweet and pretty girl. Always showing gratitude and never ever complaining.
Esther you have such a lovely personality! Of course everyone wants to be your friend!
Esther is the sweetest girl ever. She will make a good therapist
Esther has such a kind and gentle nature. She is wonderful with Jude and Eve and will be a exceptional Mother some day.
❤️ Great family, Great adventures , and lots of ❤️ I think a little update with each kiddo is a brilliant idea. Let all the individual personalities shine ⭐️
Ester is a very sweet soul. I think she will do great things in life.
