- Esther is interested in attending cosmetology school, so we decided to tour a local option! We went to the Aveda School of Cosmetology. Also, the kids drew pictures for Grandpa Knorpp's birthday and Jude lost a couple teeth!

Glad to see Esther is looking into cosmetology schools! She will be so great at that job. She already has so much skill.
As you probably know many family vloggers are being criticized for exploiting their children. I love your channel because you do not do that at all. I've never seen your children looking super embarrassed or uncomfortable on camera. People that exploit their kids would have made the ordinary experience of losing a baby tooth into an ordeal and used a thumbnail picture with blood and gore. You have fun and educational inter generational interactions. You share your faith in a natural and honest way. Thank you for respecting each other, your children and your viewers.

@@donnasweet3749 I think people love to check in on the kids, and they are sometimes featured, but I feel that it is very organic to what is going on in their lives. I don't feel that they are exploited, embarrassed or over-exposed like some family channels are criticized for doing.

I commend you two as parents for encouraging your children’s passions. Esther will fly through cosmetology school after watching her doing work on her family as well as the dolls you have bought her. Poor Jude. He wasn’t ready yet! Mom turned into a dentist on that baby. LOL!!! So cute.

I did cosmetology school during high school; as a cooperative class. Both junior and senior years!!! Lifelong skill!

When I was younger I didn’t pay attention to my gut/Holy Spirit/intuition. Then I learned to do that but didn’t follow through & would always regret that decision.
Finally I learned to pay attention, listen, & follow through on what my gut/the Universe/God/Spirit/Source/etc was telling me. When I did that I never went wrong nor had any regrets.

Esther has grown into a beautiful young lady, inside and out. I can't believe she's 18 in a few days. I started watching your channel 3 weeks after Daniel, Eve and Jude arrived in your family.

I have a friend who is in the Paul Mitchell school in Kentucky and she absolutely loves it! I know that she goes in the evenings Monday through Friday though, and I think the aveda schedule sounds a lot nicer! I hope that Esther has a great time at whatever school she picks, and I think that her going to cosmetology school and you all being so supportive of it instead of pushing her to go to a traditional college is awesome!

Haha grandpa sounds exactly like me!! Lol I recently learned I have a form of adhd which is why I'm like that lol i kind of love it, my passion for little projects keeps me from getting bored and feeling stagnant.
Morning. Have a friend who graduated cosmetology in NC. School did not provide a variety of hair types (ethnic) to learn on so when she tried finding a job or when she was working not having the diversified experience ultimately caused her to lose her job. Be aware and ask specific questions and get guarantees
Ester is so talented. .Beauty school only gives you the basics as does other schools. In my experience shop owners love to teach you in their procedures. Absorb all,you can. Good luck
I am happy to see that Esther is serious about Cosmetology since she is already so talented. My prior career was as a hair stylist and salon manager. I did not go to the Aveda Institute but would have if it was accessible to me. The salon that I worked at was an Aveda Concept salon which meant that we only carried Aveda products. I laughed to myself when you mentioned 'cults' as you are spot on. However, if you believe in the education and product of a business, that is the fit for you.
I must say that when I left hairdressing after 16 years at it due to relocation, I made more income then than I do at my desk job as a supervisor. If Esther gets into a great salon that has a name and is known for talent and great work, she will be very successful! My salon had a 1 year paid apprenticeship program that every employee had to go through prior to working on the floor and building their own clientele. I cannot recommend this pathway enough! One may feel like they know it ALL when leaving beauty school and want to work on their own ASAP but please do not underestimate the value of extending your education a bit longer by apprenticing and learning more from those that are working in a salon every single day. I am excited to live through this adventure with Esther. :)

Aveda is such a good choice of school....a qualification from there is accepted worldwide....a chance to do some travelling and working your way around the globe once qualified if you chose to. Good Luck, Esther...go where you feel led and ENJOY !!!!

I did nails with Aveda in Fl and they are super the work is always on going learning. Anything new with cosmetology you go to classes to learn. Ester will love Aveda.
Our oldest daughter went to an Aveda school and it’s one of the best around . We were so glad she went there and her training was excellent
Why not check out the cosmetology courses through the local community college? They are the least expensive programs. The community colleges have many trade programs.

My wife worked an Aveda salon for many years and they have great educators that come in on a regular basis. I hope Esther finds what she is looking for. Good luck!!

I have always gathered info and then followed my intuition/guidance . I teach all my children/grandchildren to do this as well. It puts you in the place you are meant to be and also for the lessons you are meant to learn. So happy for Esther! She has so much talent in this area. 🥰
The best ramen place ever is right by where y’all were- Futo Buta! And just great food in general. I used to live right in that area and get my haircut at Aveda- so maybe I’m biased but it’s awesome! Whatever she decides, she will thrive! Excited for her.

I know a youtuber who I follow went to Aveda School of Cosmetology in New York. Once she graduated she bought her own salon and about 4 years later developed her own hair care products for Sally Beauty Supply. I personally use her products and they are excellent for my hair.

Our daughter is taking her cosmetology exam tomorrow. She did the program in conjunction with High School program and just LOVED it. She did a lot of commuting but because she loved it so much, it was worth it. Good luck. It's a skill she can use for her whole life. We have family in the field in Utah so she did the extra hours that Utah State Boards require while in school.

I loved cosmetology school. I would suggest getting like an old milady or pivot point basics of cosmetology text book to get familiar with other books it helps with state boards since they pull questions from multiple books. In my state it was 3 so I was familiar with 2 by my test

I love Aveda! The home Aveda is here in Minneapolis and I’ve visited many times. But the best option will be apparent.
