We Take On Sand Hollow's War Machine, Double Sammi and Milts Mile trails!!

  • After running in one of our new favorite events Trail Hero, we decided to take on some of the tougher trails trails in Sand Hollow State Park. Lead by our buddy Woody "IH8Mud" we tackled War Machine that is now rated an "11" on a 1-15 scale (15 being undriven without assistance). But we couldn't stop there when Hollie "Mischief Maker" asked us to jump in with her onto Double Sammy with bonus lines and then over to Milts Mile. We also got to wheel with World Famous Skier Glen Plake that you may know from Truck Night in America. We get yet another opportunity to use the World's fastest, safest winchline on the market "The Freedom Winchline" which showed it's worth again. We hope you join us in this epic offroad adventure and see some of the fun to be had by all in Southern Utah as you may be preparing for the winter 4x4 jam or trail hero in the fall. Maybe Matt's Off Road Recovery will want to bring Mischiefmaker and US on as optional recovery services in their area....hahaha!

    Glen was a hero of mine in high school as I fought year after year to make the downhill and giant slalom squads. Mostly failing, and not being selected for Olympic tryouts either a select few of us created the ski to die team, going big, crashing hard, and getting points for the biggest yard sales.
    Glen going slowly up the gnar now PROVES there is still some balance left in the universe!

  • @forreststrong797
    @forreststrong797 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is totally off topic but does anyone think it's necessary to run more than a 4 point seat belt harness in a trail rig? I'm trying to decide what harness to go with I'm either going with team tech jet pilot harnesses which are pretty elaborate or just 4 point harnesses. I have always hated the crotch strap and the hole in the seat everything about it bothers me on the 5 points so I went with seats that don't have the anti-submarine strap hole. I'm guessing there's a few people reading this that have some good ideas or guidance. I really want to run 4 points I think my main concern is staying in the seat if I flop or roll.

    • @Bleepincolt
      @Bleepincolt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All depends on your head room in your cage. The 5th strap keeps the belt stretch to a minimum when you're upside down.

    • @forreststrong797
      @forreststrong797 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Bleepincoltthanks for the reply! it's an interior cage in an XJ but im kinda short I'll have to see how much room I have. I've only rolled without harnesses I've never rolled while wearing a harness. I like keeping my stuff nice and clean and that stupid hole in the seat for the 5th strap always gets ratty with or without a plastic bung in it mostly because my dogs paws get on it I think, I usually put something over his seat but still. It's not a daily driver but I do drive around town and we do trips in it so it has lots of seat time and I just hate that hole. If I could find some nice seats with heavy duty material and stitching and no plastic bung I'd probably give it a shot. I've been using corbeau and another name brand in my cj that I can't seem to think of. I know it's trivial but I spend so many hundreds of hours building it I want it perfect.

    Double Sammi is obviously one Samari with a Sandwich and in Colt's and Walter's world that would be a 2 foot long sandwich.
    Milt's mile: maybe it's like a Baker's dozen. Yay donuts!
    Portals rock! The current moon buggy config with mid-engine or rear engine, and no engine or hood to look over with amazing visibility, and of course portals is the thing dreams are made of. That said, Colt's Sammi sure is capable.... for a manual that is ;)

      Each one brings its own problems. War Machine is short and sweet but if you break you can get off the trail fairly easily. Rubicon is much much less vehicle demanding but if you have an issue you would be a day away from getting off the trail.
