I bought the full freestyle kit back on kickstarter. Overtime i have stripped it down to the hexagon set up. All fits in the tin and you have the option of four or six. Made myself a cordura bag to hold it all. Wood, alcohol or gas. Couldn’t be happier with it…except probably should have bit the bullet and bought titanium
So cool how much stuff you’ve added since I got my little firebox. Your ingenuity is awesome. If you could make a one piece stove? Those of us who lent their stuff out get it returned lacking a firestick and/or other pieces. Also kids are great at “forgetting” to put pieces back.
For the “ octa , and the hexi pit” you should also have 2 rectangular grates that can be placed high and low, this way you can cook with hot coals and make satay! With the grill as well!

I did not and I wish I had. They're great products and the customer service is second to none. Just spend the extra $ and get titanium.

I spoke with someone recently on IG and through their websites chat function… I have similar desires to buy US made products and the person I spoke with said they have a single page on their site with all of the US made products listed.
I like these kits, but the hexi pit would just be a pain if it’s dark or if you’re extremely tired or your hands are freezing and you need to make some food right away but your hands are frozen and can’t really connect the rods in the hole
the one thing id like to see with the freestyle is for a few of the fire stick grooves to be just a little deeper so a second grate can be placed on top as a grill but be level with the walls of the stove. if i end up getting one ill get some small round files just for this mod. also i need to say that your coffee is fantastic, i will be back for more. can you offer the original thicker arm for the grinder? maybe im just being anal but it seems like the metal fatigue from grinding is making the newer thinner arm easier to bend.
Maybe under this new economy I'll be able to buy one of these. I love your innovation. Just lack the funds. Hard to believe in America as a veteran id be treated so badly. But those people's days are coming.
great demo video Steve. I've got the octagon free style and have enjoyed using it as a tri, 4 panel, 6 panel AND the 8 campfire cofiguration. After watching this I"m thinking maybe I could set the octagon up as a 2 or 3 burner trangia alcohol or gas stove. might be too tight for putting 3 pots on though. What do you think? I got to get mine out and start manipulating it. though I usually just take the tri with me lately, I did set the octagon up for grilling a steak, frying some potatoes and boiling some water for my veggies/and coffee after I got it. The only way I can think that you can use alcohol burners and gas burners with the eight-sided stove is if you do it in a line as the bushcraft 8. I don't know how you'll mount burners in the octagon without some very creative customization.
