- The Break Par Series is BACK! And this week we are at the beautiful Whitsand Bay Golf Club. I am joined by PGA Trainee Lee Whittaker in an attempt to shoot under par, in these harsh weather conditions. Do you think either of us can do it?

Love how Lee smiles and carries on regardless, despite having a bad day at the office in front of thousands of people. I’d have had a right strop.

I do love our British cousins. Nothing other than an absolute flood would keep you guys off the course. I’m the only one in my group willing to play in the weather so, if there is even a hint of rain or moisture, we ain’t playin. Good on ya, boys.

That was tough but you made it. I thought Lee did a great job of describing each hole as you worked your way around the course.
Cracking effort to keep going in tough conditions. A horrible day on the course always beats a good day at work 👍
+2 in those conditions is pretty impressive in those conditions Dan. When you think of all the nearly putts, I could have been considerably less. Lee had a "Weston" but kept smiling as usual 👍

Very courageous golf. We refuse to play in conditions like that here in Australia.😁 It is fine and sunny 90%of the time so we would rather wait a day. Hats off to you both, well done.

Great vlog. So unlucky with a few putts dan and that chip on the last, I thought it was going to drop. Nice to see that even though Lee didn't have a good round, he just keeps plodding on and enjoying it regardless. Keep up the great work

Firstly a big hats off to you guys for even playing in those conditions at all. You've certainly had a crap Spring in the UK as we have had a very ordinary Summer and Autumn down here. A very good effort from Dan to keep it to two over and you have to admire Lee's attitude and maintaining a cheerful demeanour under what must have been, very frustrating circumstances. Obviously it's unfair to judge any golf course in those conditions however it did look a bit 'agricultural' and a bit fiddly in places too. Some stunning vistas across the coastline though. 18th looked like the signature hole and probably rightly so. You need to find some sunshine gentlemen.!

Well played both. I for one would have walked off the course, kudos for staying out. Lee, in case you are feeling a little down, golf is a rollercoaster, one day brilliant another day not like you want to play. It's the sport m8.

What tough conditions: wind, rain, and plenty of slopes. Dan, you were robbed a few times putting and, especially on the chip on 18. Lee, everyone has bad days golfing and today was one of yours. Cheers.
Lee delivers the putter really nice and square but he decelerates a bit so distance control is a bit all over the place at times.
Try to keep the putter pace up a bit throughout the strike 👍

Pretty good plus 2 in those conditions Dan. Lee oops but don't give up. Weather looked worse than Princes at the start of the year.
I can sympathise with Lee. I had a round like that yesterday. It started when I didn't see my rangefinder had re-set to metres. Ugh. I'll take revenge tomorrow.
Rough conditions I've played 2 different rounds this spring with snow and sleet sun hopefully will come out soon 👍
Looks a tricky course in decent conditions let alone wind and rain. Well stuck you two to provide some entertainment (& humour...........green’s getting smaller (LW).........easier to maintain (DH’s reply)

Dan - are you the sort of person who after having played the course and things haven’t gone well/tricky conditions, wants to revisit sooner than later to try to shoot a lower score/play better?
I just reflect on the round and look through the stats. I will pick out a shot or two that I want to work on but also really focus on the positives. Tough day so +2 would be around Par for PGA event 👍

I do wonder about course designers especially on seaside courses. Why make the greens so slopey? TBH its either idiotic or just evil. Either way, you definitely want to pick your playing days very carefully otherwise it really isn't much fun.
They have probably moved over the year’s following the slope to the sea 🌊
