Welcome back to the channel where this week we are taking on the Kernow course at the St. Mellion Estates.
Myself (Dan Hendriksen) along with my brother Paul and Will Farley are teaming up to play a Texas Scramble around the second course at St. Mellion and we could be going low.
Here is what St. Mellion have to say:
Opened in 1976 The Old Course, as it was then called, quickly became a must play course and by 1979 was included amongst the elite by its inclusion on the European Tour with the hosting of the Benson & Hedges International Open. This was followed by two further tournaments as it played host to the Tournament Players Championship, which included a win for Bernhard Langer in 1983. Entirely renovated as part of St Mellion’s extensive 2008 redevelopment, the Kernow Course has developed into a very popular golf course with Members & Visitors alike and a perfect foil for the world class Nicklaus Course. With it's wide fairways and big greens the course has gained a popular following and in a recent survey was included in the Top 5 "2nd Courses" in the UK’s best 36-hole golf courses.

Dan’s drop is coming from back when he was on Mark’s channel. Before the new drop rule went into effect, Dan, Mark, Coach and Rory would do the Grammy knee drop as a little jab at the new rule.I think subconsciously, Dan is reliving those days!

Always look forward to 10 am in California when videos drop. Great to see Wilbur back and playing well. I think watching you guys play is a great way for golfers; especially beginners; to see how to enjoy the game with friends and appreciate the history of the game/course. My oldest son used to get so frustrated when he played poorly and I would try to explain how golf always wins no matter how good you are. So I think the relaxed and friendly competition you normally have is a great influence/example of how to approach the game. You guys should all be proud of the content being delivered. Much appreciated 👍

Great to see Wilbur back and, yes, his game has improved. He looks more confident and his green reading is superb. At the pace your playing I think you’ll get to 14 under.

Giving these facts about the history of the golf courses and surrounding areas is brilliant the boys are just a bit jealous dan so keep them coming and yes I think your right guys Wilbur has definitely come back with a sparkle in his eye and a game to match and the reading of the greens is pretty good to boys and your all a little late about the snacks breakfast at 05.00 snack about 08.30/09.00 lunch at 12.00 then snack about 14.30 tea or dinner about 18.00 and then snack about 21.00 or earlier lol got to keep your strength up a Wilbur lol

@@johnsaundersorsam it is by Mark Broadie, basically a maths guy. He took data from golfers, then got access to your data from players. He analysed it all & came to some truths rather than “feel” myths. In the book he explains with examples etc. Shots gained is his way of explaining your game against average of golf shots. He explained why Driver distance is more important than putter to scoring. Why 150 yards + is more important than 100 yards and in.
You can imagine how people reacted, but it is perfectly logical. Once you get data, the data will tell you what to practice to get better. You can work out if chipping is the problem, short putts, long putts, mid irons etc etc.

The discussion on the first hole is nearer the hole the better for shot gains. Because golf data says you get closer to the hole that way statistically

Jordan for the shots coming short. You could try the old arm signal from cricket for a short run. EG touching your right shoulder with your right hand.

Great to see Wilbur back, his game is looking top notch. I know you like to cover some real golf shots after your tour games, especially when a great shot is played out of a tricky situation. Could you do one based on Paul’s 8 iron shot on the par 3? I do this often (block right) and have no idea why this happens, so it would be great to see a real golf video lesson for those with this same issue.

I really hope that your channel continues to grow and continue to gain the views and subscribers that it undeniably deserves. Since joining the channel I have now missed a video in what is getting close to a year now. Iv seen nothing but the production and content value continue to rocket and improve. I’m a firm believer that given the production value, entertainment value and the rotation of excellent personalities and course vlogs. I genuinely hope your channel continues to grow at the deserved rate. I look forward to 6pm every evening, and when I first started following the channel it was off of the back of seeing DH in content with Mark Crossfield. It appears to be windy every time you go to St Mellion. Difficult to predict a score with this good start, very unusual for a bus tour scramble. Hopefully Paul will start striking it a bit better (a few dodgy strikes to start off with), despite that with a par 70 a 59 is very much on

6 under after 6 holes, par 70. with 12 holes left to play, I'm not really seeing any bogies from you guys, and I can easily see 6 or 7 more birdies, so I'll stick my neck out and say a quite remarkable 57.

The ball must be dropped from knee height. NB leg must not be bent/crouched etc. Rule I believe is 14.3b
Think he’s trying to keep the drop from hitting his own feet but needs to drop it from knee height, not from his knee. Always laugh at the wee knee bend though 😂

This might open a can of worms, but if the course has been "stroke indexed" according to CONGU recommendations, then stroke index 1 isn't necessarily the hardest hole on the course, it should be roughly in the middle of the 9 odd indexed holes, just as SI 2 should be roughly in the middle of the other 9, there's more to it than just indexing them in order of difficulty.
