Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This TH-cam channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

I'll take the mini driver off you, if you won't use it...
In a 22 minute video there were 6, yes 6, different ad break interruptions. One is fine, two is manageable, six is unwatchable. I have followed for a long time and I love the content Rick, but I will not continue to do so if I have to sit through ad interruptions every 3 minutes. That’s ridiculous mate.
Let me get those 225s
You should review Takomo irons.
My level of envy is so high when I see Rick hitting my dream Mizuno irons that I don't want to spend the money, but he has them sent to him for free without even opening them. Beautiful clubs.
Then he does open them they splatter all over the floor!! 😂
Rick pretending like he doesn’t know what’s in the boxes when he darn well knows there’s golf clubs in there. 🤣. Rock on Rick 🤘😎
You only live once brother go get them!!!
I’ve invested in a set outstandin
Keep them 5 years, think about it as an investment in your mental health for the next 5!
Would love to see the Greenwood putter reviewed, genuinely intrigued by your impressions and opinion of a wooden putter. Thanks for all you do!
I got those Wilson launch pad irons back in February. Absolutely love them. So easy to hit! Would love to see a full review on them!
Finch did a review a long time ago and he said they were the easiest irons to hit.
It kills me that Rick finds boxes of clubs that he's forgotten about, and I can't even save the money to buy a decent set of irons! I'm so disgustedly jealous!
I can’t help but wonder what the Manufacturers think when a video like this comes out. Like Mizuno sent him a near full set of clubs and they just sat in a box.
I think Callaway sending the Paradym irons only for them to be forgotten about might be well deserved. Those irons seem so underwhelming to me and many of the other golfers I've talked to
Manufacturers' marketing teams send out sets of clubs to all the well known reviewers knowing they are competing with every other manufacturer. They send them hoping to have their equipment reviewed but not expecting it.
@@jgrywacheskiexactly. They technically can’t buy favorable reviews or reviews at all. They can sponsor stuff but those are not technically reviews
They don’t pay or ask him to review them, they send them hoping he will, it’s cheap marketing for them, he’s got no obligation to actually do it.
Don’t know what this video was about , seriously 😒 just ran out of material to video for a week
Love the video. Would def love to see some more in-depth review on the 64. Think it might really help players who struggle around the greens, especially ones who dont spin it well. I think the high loft will offer better stopping power
Those Mizuno irons are something else... Congratulations on the new channel and more success to come, Rick!
Those Mizunos are the purest looking irons on the market today. They don't use the strengthened lofts to try and market that they go further; they just feel and perform beautifully. Would love to see them get fully reviewed.
You do know that lofts are based around launch angle right? So the more 'help' it has in the club the higher it usually launches. In order to combat that they lower the loft
I can't wait to see the Wilson and Callaway reviews. Your Adams review was amazing and makes me want to look into at least the irons as I am very happy with my Cobra woods
I want to see full reviews on the Wilson launch irons! As well as the wooden putter!
You should do a break 65 between you and guy, using those high launch irons, that crazy putter, the 64 degree wedge, and some other random clubs
yeah i love those videos with random weird clubs
@TPW13 me as well, they are usually my favorite
Mizuno Pro 225 owner here…so glad to see these on the channel albeit briefly. I had some old T-Zoids from the late 1990s and always loved how they felt. Tried out a bunch of different irons last year and wasn’t surprised to end up back with Mizuno. Great distance and feel.
I love these “I’ve-had-them-but-never-tried-them” videos!
Rick : *casually rummages through $10,000+ worth of brand new golf clubs*
I would love to see the Wilsons and the Mizunos reviewed.
As always, some great stuff coming from Rick.
We need a head to head review of the 225s vs the new T200 and the P790s!
Love to see all the progress brother! Also the expansion in your content has been amazing to watch! I got into golf around 6 years ago and have leaned heavily on your content in my journey! Keep it up and thanks for all the helpful and entertaining content!
That is awesome!
Quite envious of the studio cos only dream of having an indoor simulator but must be so good to receive these clubs and be able to do stuff like this
I did a driver fitting and it came down to the BRNR Mini and the Titleist TRS 2. Titleist was longer, but total dispersion on the mini driver was 19 yards total. It was amazing.
Good stuff Rick. Further detailed review of some of that equipment would be cool. That wooden putter could be interesting to see perform. Plus seeing that 64* wedge on the course in action would be very interesting to me.
Additional note: I tried the mini burner and love it but I couldn't justify spending $700 (Brit living in Canada) but I found it was really helpful getting back into driver as I've tried high lofted bigger drivers and they go the same distance as my 3 wood... it was a better option that trying to whack a bigger head! You're never opened boxes are my regular set and would love to own!! Absolutely kill for the Burner.
The reason I switched to the Taylormade burner from my actual driver is for consistency. Able to find so many more fairways
Rick you are a legend! I seen your videos on Facebook and it made me want to play, I have been playing for a couple of months now and am loving it even tho it can be quiet frustrating 😂 thank you
Been a Mizuno addict for over 25 years, currently running a set of MP-67’s with an MX500 driver and F50 woods. I’m definitely due an upgrade to something a bit more up to date and would love to get you thoughts on both the Iron sets and driver. 👌
I went from playing Ping G425 over to the Mizuno Pro 225. They have been the best change in my game i have had. I have been sticking shots more than ever by far and have already shaved some points off the handicap. You need to get a fitting for them because they are special. But also keep in mind their new irons are coming out in the next month or so. So that will lower cost of these as well as possibly have you lean towards the new pro series instead.
I have the BRNR and to me, it's aim small & miss small. I lost maybe 5 yds from my Cobra SZ and with the weight forward and loft down still have hit greens at ~340. Much easier to control and a better shape. Same approach as bladed irons to me honestly. They don't have any advantage really anymore but the mental side helps some so much. (Plus no driver face restrictions on it)
I got fitted for the Mizuno Pro 225 irons and they are very nice to hit! Being a 21 handicap they are massively helping me bring that down, highly recommended them!
I’ll be honest I love these videos above all others. Has to be the anticipation. I remember watching Rick in his home sim doing the same and it was great to go along for the ride. Thanks Rick !👍🏼
Let's get Stacked Golf going through Rick's mail room. The real crossover for which everyone is clamoring.
Would love a full test of the greenwood putter vs the Bradley wooden putter you received.
After having to sell all my golf clubs and stuff to afford medical tests, this just breaks my heart to know clubs could be out there used by people but instead just sit in a corner unused
I currently play with Wilson d7s and love them but I can't get any joy out of anything lower than 7 iron since a major operation.
I can't wait to see the review on the Wilson launchpad irons. Especially the 3,4,5,6 irons as I am looking to treat myself to a set as a reward for bouncing back from stage III lung cancer. I want to also thank not just you but all the other you tube golfers for keeping me sane over the last 2 years it has really geed me up to recovery. 3 months after the op I couldn't swing a club and was doing 18 holes with a Chipper and putter. Glad to say I can now walk 18 holes if it's not too hilly and I am back playing. I am halfway through a 3 year Targeted therepy course now after having my lower left lung removed and with the exception of the odd niggling injury I have been back playing for a year now.
Just wanted to ask if you could use the lower irons in the review as I want to know how easy these are too hit. Finally I just want to thank you guys for keeping me entertained when I was at my worst. I have now been clear of cancer for 18 months just wanted to say thank you.
Would love to see an honest review of the Wilson LP irons. I put the 4 hybrid of the same series into my bag this year, after an impulse purchase (not even tried it beforehand), and it was almost perfect for me from the first shot. The only thing i missed was a bit more distance, which i guess is a result of the very high launch. So I bought an ex demo 3 hybrid LP which is now a permanent club in my bag, taking the job as a 4 iron replacement. I love it.
Love to see a review of thw 225 irons, always thought mizunos were a reach for me but you comparing them to the p790 has me intrigued and they are beautiful
For me definitely the trio of Mizuno irons, I currently play the 225's and love them, for me play much better than my previous 2019 P790's. Your full review would be very welcome
RICK!! I love your videos. I just got into golf 11 weeks ago and I'm addicted. Watching your videos makes me want to play every day. I'm going to watch your full review and I hope you post where we could get the clubs.
I've been using the Wilson Launch Pads for 2 years and they have really helped my game confidence!! Amazing clubs but lots of noise in the bag. Lots of clinking
I started watching your TH-cam for club reviews and hooked. Love to see you back in reviews. Thanks.
Rick your iron shots are looking really freaking pure these days!!!!! Seriously you must have put so much work into your swing, power, and accuracy and it shows. Looking good mate!!!!!
Mini Driver - absolutely love it, have the 13.5 set at 15.5, it's a good 3 wood off the deck but even better off the tee
Please do full HIT reviews on the Greenwood putter & the callaway irons.
So jealous of the golf "presents" would be nice to come home to misc boxes of golfing gear.
Love the he vids. All the best.
Yeah, Mizuno review! I’d love to see that, the mp-20 hmb irons are amazing, have had them in the bag for almost a year, absolutely love them
Found you on youtube while watching Bob does Sports. Love the reviews, you and them boys got me back into golf. Couldn't afford new irons so went thrifting. Got a full set of some old Tommy Armour 845 irons, callaway hybrid 4, and an older Taylormade RBZ driver. Its been fun, missed golfing.
Mini drivers are great for short sets! Combine your regular D-stick and 3w into the Mini and eliminate clubs.
Bag set up: Mini/Hyb/4/6/8/P/56*/Putter
Would love to see reviews for all, but mostly the putter and the wedge. Great work as usual Rick!
Really interested in seeing those wilson hybrid irons in a full review. Especially from a player like you.
Rick you are the man. I started my channel Bogey or Better Golf after watching your vids. I really only post videos for me and my friends to watch but I love your channel. Thanks for all the tips. If you ever want to get rid of or sell any of the stuff you review let me know. I could do some reviews from the point of a high handicapper.
My golf game needs all the help it can get! And with you saying that those launch pad irons were easy to hit. I’d love to see a full review on those.
I have been waiting for you to do a review on the Wilson LP2 for some time now! I hope it comes soon 😊. Keep up the awesome work! And thanks for keeping the interest up during the small kids years.
Another great video! Look forward to seeing the more in-depth reviews on the H.I.T channel, Those Mizuno irons look beautiful! Can't wait 👍
Love this video. I'm Canadian and I play Mizuno clubs (left handed) so I would love to see separate videos for the Driver and Irons and of course the wooden putter from Canada. Thanks
Hey Rick enjoying your channel. I picked up the game at 55 years old and have become a FREAKIN FANATIC LOL Your videos have helped my game and I actually won the 1st tournament I ever entered.
I played a TM SLDR Mini Driver (13.5*) and I also have a TM Ti300 Mini Driver (same 13.5* loft). Both of them performed VERY well for me off the tee (15 to 25 yards shorter than my 45" long 460cc driver at the time, and much straighter off the tee. Neither of them were spectacular from off the "floor", but I didn't do too badly with the SLDR Mini Driver! Of course, I am extremely good with my 4-wood off the tee and from the fairway and even the light rough (wouldn't even consider hitting a Mini Driver from the rough, even shortish rough). The only reason that I don't have a mini driver in my bag currently is that I hit either of my two drivers (Callaway Paradym X and Ping G430 Max) pretty well -- and at least 20-25 yards longer, and my 15.75*, 42.5" long, 170cc 4-wood is just about equally as long off the tee as any mini driver, and I hit the center of the fairway very consistently with it, plus I can hit the 4-wood from the rough!
Any chance of a box of random clubs you have laying around please Rick 😂
Would love a Wilson launch pad review
Love your family of channels, Rick! The Wilson Launch Pad irons piqued my interest for a full review.
Club manufacturers do send these to Rick hoping he will do a review. Rick is under no obligation to do anything with them. If he reviewed everything he gets he would never leave the HIT studio. I enjoyed seeing this video. Would definitely like to see a full review with the Mizuno irons Rick. Keep up the good work!
Rick! I’ve got some requests and suggestions;
Would like to see you review Takomo irons - specifically the 101Ts and colors it to the P790s.
Would also really like to see you do a proper review of the Wilson Launch Pads, with a twist. Make a video where you play 9 holes WITH the launch pads and give us a review that way too.
Would also like to see you review the Ping Tomcat Putter.
Great job as always and I look forward to your reviews!
I would love to see a full review of the Sky Lob. What a fascinating idea!
Thanks for another great video. I would love to see full reviews for the Greeenwood and the Skylob. I would also like to see you review the putters and irons from AR Golf.
I can remember you hitting the ceiling in your garage with the club. If memory serves me you opened some boxes then to. I happen to like your HIT channel and can't wait to see more testing. Thanks Rick
I never had a Christmas morning like this....but was fun watching.
Imagine getting sent so much free Golf shizzle that you can't even be arsed to open it lol....!?!? Ricardo living the dream haha, fair play lad :))
Full review, all clubs. Especially the wood putter. That looks cool!
Wow them Wilson’s irons are right up my street love them. Please do a full review. Great content again.
Yes. Please review all these clubs. I feel like I learn a lot from your reviews and I can’t get enough of them. Just my two cents.
I remember this video 3 years ago during lockdown probably my favorite one still
All the irons are interesting but when Rick dumped a bunch of Mizuno irons on the floor I knew what I liked most! All three mizzy's, out on the grass, maybe all the irons like those Callaway's, those fat soled Wilsons. I'm interested in how these all really perform in realistic conditions, especially those Mizunos.
Turf interaction, very important!
This video reminds me of reviews you used to do, where they include first looks & initial opinions.
Enjoyed 👍
Would definitely love to see a full review of the Mizuno irons (221 and 225) on the H.I.T. channel please!
I think the BRNR mini driver can really help a good number of golfers that, like me, love our hybrids but can’t hit driver with any consistency whatsoever - just feels so big and cumbersome and a 3 wood is just way too ‘twitchy’. BRNR mini strikes a great balance of size and stability. Love mine and if anything happened to it would buy another in an instant - actually want to try the lower lofted one now!
Yes please the Wilson irons. I got fitted comparing their last year's model with the Cleveland Halo XL's and chose the Clevelands, but these new Wilson look similar and maybe even more in that forgiving hollow back hybrid iron mix.
03:26 "Literally went to space!" Hahaha
The Mizuno 225’s where pete finch’s choice for mid handicapper’s last year. I took his advice and absolutely love them, lots of help in the mid iron but less in the scoring irons, this gives them incredible feel. I was coming from a Miura game improvement iron…the 225’s won out on feel and 10 yards on the scoring irons ! I just got fit today for a mini driver…hated it !! Ended up my gear was as good as any new stuff so paid a driver eval fee and me and my sore back are happy , I am cutting off my driver a half inch 44.5 … way better control with hardly any loss of distance.
Two things:
1) I love how Rick had some of my dream clubs in a box that he barely knew he had.... 🙃
2) I would love Rick to do a video comparing the overall results of a smaller driver to a larger driver.... I personally think smaller heads are way easier to control... you just lose about 10-15 yards.... just a thought about mini driver--I play mine like a 2 wood for tighter golf courses because the smaller head is way easier to hit.
I use the mini driver. I look at it as more of a trainer to get consistent face contact. The shorter shaft also helps me stay in control. I find myself hitting far more fairways at the cost of 20-30 yards sure, but still more consistent. I know everyone will say "JuSt PrAcTiCe MoRe WiTh ThE DrIvEr" which I have, and I've gotten lessons. I just feel that I am more conservative with my body movement with the mini. I also have back and neck issues and feel that I'm not going to break my spine getting out of control chasing 300+ with driver lol.
I would love to see a review on the mini driver as i am looking at getting one myself. Also love ur content rick ur content was what got me to love golf again and pick up the bag again. Thank you
Full reviews of everything!! That putter looks so interesting though.
While I do miss the RS in green when the channel had no content yet, the rebranding as HIT has been a smash. Looking forward to more!
I have the original LP irons and love them. My playing partners don't like them but it makes playing so much easier for this 9 handicap golfer.... Would love to see you do a full review on the LP2 irons
I've been playing the callaway paradym x for the whole season. Love them. forgiving, yet workable. Really like them..
This was really entertaining. I am curious about the Greenwood wood putter. Even if it performed well, how long do you think it would last before multiple long range putts started to misshape the face? I’d love to see a full review on this, including an opinion on durability. Thanks.
Fun video! I would love to see a full review on the Mizuno driver and fairway woods and where you think they sit compared to the bigger brands. Thanks Rick!
Great stuff. Would love too see the full Mizuno irons set reviews. The 225s look gorgeous for a forgiving iron.
A full review of the mizuno fairways/driver/hybrids would be good. Also the launchpad irons. It would be interesting to see them on the course too for a few holes. And the wooden putter and the mizuno irons
🇨🇦 love the unboxing video, absolutely review that greenwood putter,
Would love to see a comparison of those Wilson launchpad irons vs the 2023 cobra trails.
Would also love to see comparison of the paradym, stealth2 and Aerojet irons!
I believe I was one of the first 1,000 subs on the HIT channel. I would like to see a in-depth review of the new 2024 Callaway Apex Pro irons. I’ve never seen a set of irons that fit me so perfectly at address as these. May be in my bag soon.
What a dream job that Rick has! Never take it for granted!
That Rawhide Golf headcover on the Greenwood putter looks awesome! I really think you should review that putter. Wood putters have an incredible feel!
Full review of the Miz, they look like they go with that driver set. An all the way down review would be cool because I hear so many rumblings of folks who love that brand.
Please do a full review for the Mizuno irons!! Love the content Rick!
Let there be no doubt. We need to see you review the wooden putter, the Mizuno irons, and of course out on the course with the 64 degree. Go!
Rick, acting like he doesn’t know what’s in the boxes, when he darn well knows there’s golf clubs in there. 🤣. Rock on 🤘😎
Yes, please test the Wilson Launch Pad clubs. Thanks for the videos!
Rick I have the Skylob wedge 64 degrees loft and the 70 degrees lie angle in my golf bag and I love it. Would be nice to see you testing it on the golf course!
id love to see everything with the mizuno driver and irons! i feel like they used to really impress you, but they haven't been reviewed by you in a while
Definitely the Wilson irons. My missus uses Cleveland Launchers, would be really interesting to see how they are in comparison.
Mini driver is for those that prefer a smaller head. Plain and simple. I LOVED my Callaway Steelhead. Tiny head on that driver. Just felt like I could move it. And it suited my eye. But, it broke and I never reshafted it.
Also whilst you were asking, I used to play golf as a junior regularly but stopped for about 10 years before picking it back up. Came back to golf and found driver to be difficult to use so bought the BRNR mini-driver. Found it easier to hit the fairway regularly whilst only sacrificing probably in the region of 10-30 yards to a normal driver. Only use of the deck on a perfect lie on a Par 5 really, has to be a perfect lie or 3-wood is better. Mini-driver is a strange name, 2-wood would be a much better descriptor.
Do a review on the launchpad irons! I’m a naff high handicapper and got those irons earlier this year from golf bidder and they’re great! Helped me out a lot
I really like the Paradyme X irons when i tested them. Would be fun with a full review 👍
Sergio is a class act. Respect. Chin up Rick, tough day at the office.
