As to charging: keep it below 3.5 amps. You have NCR18650BD with 4 in parallel (10S4P). The datasheet says about 900mA each. If you jam 20A into the port, you are hitting each cell with 5 amps each (on average). That is very dangerous, and will destroy the cells quickly.
@@terrysobkowich2084I just got two of these packs. I was able to charge thru charging port for initial charge but after first full capacity test cycle it will only allow charge through discharge port. Have you had similar experience or know how to reenable charging through charging port?
@@Code_hack_ I have never had a problem charging through the charging port,...mostly.... the only time I put power into the discharge port is when the battery was completly discharged and the BMS didn't even have enough power to wake up and start charging the battery, so....I had to put some power into the discharge port to get enough charge into the battery to wake up the BMS to allow charging into the charge cable. The bigger challenge I have had though is that some similar packs I have gotten from elsewhere had a anti theft firmware lock whereby the pack will only supply 0.7a unless it receives a digital code from a scooter that is no longer there....the battery assumes it has been stolen and then shuts down lol, So then you need to do a modd on the battery pack whereby you bypass the bms for discharging or run it inline with a digital signal box that emulates the scooter signal.....I have done both.
@@terrysobkowich2084thanks for the info. Once the voltage reached about 37v I was able to charge through the charging port again. These packs seem really good and mine are shown about 90% capacity. Did any of your packs come battery clearinghouse? Mine are from jag35

Probably need to bypass the BMS on discharge. Sounds like you’re dealing with a prior rental and the system is looking for a signal from the gps board that isn’t there anymore. So get a different battery or just research bypassing the BMS but still used on charging.

@@thatguychris. I opened mine up and connected the negative lead directly to the B- pad on the battery and the pack works fine now.
