Wish Arrival would produce components for mini busses and perhaps eventually a DIY kit to let builders get the frame and panels to create an electric mini bus. The materials they use to cover their vehicles won’t rust or dent. I believe a lot of people would want it.
The first time you charge a battery that was that low can be pretty dangerous. The chances of a cell being unbalanced is a lot higher when they sit for that long. I recommend staying close to the battery for that first charge and being near a window or a door in case you need to throw it outside. Also, be sure to charge it fully so that the bms can enter the balancing phase.

Especially with deep discharge cells that have a way higher chance of forming dendrites on the quickly growing SEI layer. Also pressure can build up but that's not visible in cylindrical cells until the top goes pop.

In your bus are you using the bms from the pack? If you use the BMS do you use the small leads to charge or go through the discharge bigger leads to charge? is there a separate charging circuit?

I’ve seen nothing but bad things about them. I’ve seen people open them up and figure out that it’s not actually lipo4 and they supply you with a lipo4 charger (very unsafe) and seen other people have them explode
Jehu, I’m working on a VW beetle conversion. Can you confirm I’m thinking of this right? With a Hyper 9 HV motor rated at max 180v I would need 5 of these packs in a series and 13 in parallel to get about 30kwh? I believe my beetle will get about 4 miles per KWh so that leaves me with a range of about 120 miles. Does that sound right? How would you arrange these??

What specifically do you want, this is a jazzy gear reduction 120 RPM output shaft with a 17 tooth front sprocket driving a 42 tooth rear sprocket the rim and the tire weigh very little but making the tube chassis 120 thousand wall Tube the speed controller is a 24-volt 500w for a brushed motor the Jazzy motor is a brushed motor I need to be able to ride this at the racetrack while we are racing between the track in the pits

Then I can cut the battery down the middle and make it shorter and wider. Which will be the cheapest. And almost the same ah as 3 hoverboard batteries. Most of these scooter pack they are in 2 rolls of 20cells. But it will be too long to use in razor. But my plan is to change them to 4 rolls of 10. Then they will fit perfectly inside the tray. Also most hoverboard battery come with the cheapest cell and low capacity like 2500 or 2600ah per cell.
Did you decided on you replacement motor and controller yet? Maybe hold out on the battery until you decide. Because those 48v 1800w my1020 brushless motor and controller are cheap and a very popular up grade choice. Same amount of work as the 500-1000w brush motor. All larger motors require to drill new motor mount holes and remove kick stand. If direct replacement the 350w will be the biggest you can go.
I did a 36v over volt on with a 36v controller on the stock 24v motor. It go much faster about 18mph. It is for my 80# kid so the motor is not burning up. But if I am going to ride it for a long distance. I assume the motor will burn out. So keep that in mind.
I'm just learning about battery packs for e-bikes I would like to make up my own packs, I like to make up 52 volt packs ideally to batteries for my e-bike I'm not clear what BMS to get I see something generic BMS's recently priced I don't know if this would be when you're better deals to split apart and makeup to 52 packs being seem to be good quality cells or if you have other options with more capacity and cheaper all in all I'm very cheap thanks for your time let me know if this will be the most logical and cheapest route or if there's another way to get quality sales a little more work the tear apart something

I've just finished cleaning 4000 18650 cells pink Samsung 26f and it`s variants at 2600mah, so there is different options to set them up in, I'm planning on 10 lots of 400 cells (not charged each of them yet so the individual rating of the cells is unknown at present) I've found cooling tubing for them so each module can be cooled, I'll use the replacement BMS as used in Tesla modules a tried and tested method.. with some luck I'll have a conversion by summer.... planning for 150 mile range in a conversion....

It looks there is a balance port inside but it is not hooked up!!
Specialized vado (electric bike)used the same board and layout as your r-5.. Very good cells.. Very good board etc..

I’m going to try and use the same discharge port to charge, if I run into problem I’ll use the charging port
Now if you have to charge the heavy cables first, then the smaller cables, how do you do that on your bus?
You only have to do that the first time, after being dormant and not used for long period of time

Discharge cable is bidirectional.

Jehu, how you will manage thermal management of the battery pack when using it in the VW Bus? What if overheating occurs?
They do not overheat at 1c load

I am working on razor scooter too. Most important part is a battery that fit in the tray. These are way too long.
