- There are tons of unused objects and items hidden in the code of New Super Mario Bros U. Some of them are just small neat little things that didn’t make the cut into the full version of New Super Mario Bros. U, while others are actually pretty cool obstacles that at some point in development probably had a full level build around them but then got kicked out for some reason. In this video we are going to take a look at a lot of those cut New Super Mario Bros U. features, and we will speculate a bit about what their purpose was, and why they were cut.

Ceave i'm pretty sure those doors are broken in miyamoto. they seem to float a bit above the ground. the peaches castle door and all the other doors work perfectly fine though!
Those ice blocks remind me of the rotating bomp-like blocks in Odyssey and Super Mario Galaxy...also tox boxes

the reason they didn't add the giant bullseye bill is because they couldn't find a word that began with 'b' that meant homing and giant at the same time.
I’m not sure about NSMBU but I KNOW that the glowing pipe is used in NSMBUD in the Coin Battle Mode.

The rotating ice cubes were sort of in 3D world

I had a really hard challenge for you Try to beat Supermario odyssey with out collecting a single coin with out taking any damage and with out Jumping the entire run. If, you have problems there is one TH-camr who did this challenge He is called Vik but the problem is that he is a German TH-camr. So I think you can't understand him. My guess why that koopa shell cave crashrs the game is because the model is'nt in the game files anymore. But maybe, if you copy over the model from Mario Wii to Mario U, maybe i actually works!!

I did this and got pretty far but is hard I'd recommend multiplayer bubbles
they didn't use the shiny gold pipe because it could give people sesures. i don't know how to spell that

it was originally, but they scrapped it bc the stage used only one shell for the entire thing.

The glowing pipe thingie actually spawns when you collect a certain amount of coins, but it's hard to set up properly, lol. Oh, I saw AboodXD (maker of the Miyamoto program) replied here in these comments as well :D (Psycrow)

Edit: The firebars exist in World 7-Airship.
Edit 2: The golden pipe exist in the second map of coinbattlemode.

The glowing pipe you showcased towards the end, only appears in the exclusive coin battle stages as sort of a move-on from the area you are currently in after you try and collect enough coins.

Well since frozen water is usually formed in many different shapes that rarely includes an actual cube, would ice polygon suit your pleasure better?
The glowing pipe (10:26) is used in coin battle level 2 when the timer is almost over. I was messing around with coin battle and saw the pipe if you go through it, it takes you to the end.

Being able to mix different tilesets and backgrounds together that don’t match in themes would be great in SMM2. It would make levels look more interesting.

Ceave, the item at 10:24 is used in the coin battle mode. At levels 2 and 7, if you collect enough coins in an area, that pipe will appear, and take you to the next area.
Those icy things at the start exist in nsmbwii
Those pickupable blocks as well
And the ? blocks floating on water, the two platforms tied with strings, the crab throwing rocks, etc...
Don't forget the red Banzai Bills!

I may be wrong but the wooden box generator reminds me of the trophy minigame (think it was called Trophy Rush?) in Super Smash Bros 4 3DS

2:25 Yes, NSMBU uses the same engine as NSMBWii - which is also the same engine used in SM64DS, NSMB, Galaxy, Galaxy 2, 3D Land, 3D World, Mario Maker and Odyssey! They all use the same old engine from 2004. There's even a bug in Odyssey that can be re-created in 64DS with a bit of hex editing.
This just makes me wonder if someone's crazy enough to recreate Mario Wii in Mario Wii U

Actually most of the unused stuff are in nsmbw. The ice particles appear in basically all levels in W3, the stretching blasters in 7-tower and the water bubble level, the ice background in 3-3, moving ice pillar in 3-4, etc.

you missed a few of the mechanics being leftovers from the wii version, the bullet blasters that go up and down, the moving ice platform, pick-up-able ice blocks, the water floating question blocks, and probably more that i missed as well.
