Iam having a similar issue with a jumpy idle. When I start her up shes ok but every now and then, not always when I am riding the rpm' s will drop so low she will stall.... Also, once shes warmed up she only idles at 1 and bounces around between 1 and 500. Does this sound more like one thing then the other?
Brian Burk It could be the throttle position sensor or it could be the atmospheric pressure sensor. I’d bet it’s one of those two things! Hope I’ve helped! :)
@@motormaniac1 I will check both today! Thankyou! I am also going to be changing the plugs and coils. I dont think that she has Denso coils but we shall see.... Thanks agian for the help will let you know the results!
Motor Maniac no it doesn’t start I had issues with the ECU being fried when I bought it replaced and now my battery blew up and headlight blew, changed the voltage regulator but I want to reset the codes first before buying a new ECU, I feel like it’s in a safe mode protecting it self it still turns on my fuel pump and stuff
For D62, that is usually the “erase all existing codes” option in the diagnostic menu. That may be the total number of codes on the bike now. In other words, It’s telling you how many codes you are about to erase. D61 is code history. What does that one say?
@@SLZR60 So D61 is the history of codes on the bike. It should scroll though all of the codes. Write each code down. If it’s just 11, then all you have is a code # 11. Code 11 is listed as 11 - No normal signals are received from the cylinder identification sensor when the engine is started or while the vehicle is being driven.
@@SLZR60 D61 will show all codes that the bike has seen since the last time the diagnostic codes were erased. If it’s just 11, then You had that code 11 on the bike at some point, or you have it right now. The R6 does not have a scanner port. The diagnostic mode was the early answer years ago to bikes not having scanner ports.
I’m not sure. I would look at the frame, and write down the VIN number. Call Yamaha to see if the bike VIN is from a 2003. If the ECU is from a different year, you may have a different process to get to the diagnostic mode. Likewise, if there is something wrong with the ECU or the gauge cluster, it may prevent you from going into the diagnostic mode!
Thanks for the advice, it's hard to find good how-to videos on the R6 despite it's popularity!

Awesome. Going to check mine now.
Why did you disconnect the fuel tank connector?
What manual did you get this info from?

How if the red key symbol ia turn on?
Indonesia motorbike nawan ss I’m terribly sorry, but I don’t understand. What red key symbol?
I can’t get it onto diagnostics mode for some reason error 2 and 1
JayBee Does the bike start? Could be a frayed wire in the harness, or it could be another electrical problem.

JayBee You might also have a short somewhere. My guess is the bad voltage regulator damaged something like a fuse or a wire somewhere :/
what would d62: 04 mean? If it means I have 4 codes how can I find them?
