Another great video with Hugh. Loved the vid of his red 1977 Carerra hill-climber. Very likeable, self-deprecating bloke. This video could just as easily be titled, how to own a cool, vintage automobile and not be a douche-bag.
Perfect car. Really great fit for this guy. He’s so right it’s palatable for the public. 912 are smart cars. Wish I kept my 68 I bought in college $1200 bucks. I’m looking to buy one now geeze they are bit more I’m finding. Classic ! Good luck with it. Cheers- Dave. USA
Love this 912!! I wanted to back date my ‘67 to 3 dial but now I think it’s not a good idea. The twin spark conversion done on mine by John Benton really added some nice power.
You say potato, l say potato! You say Nine One Two, l say Nine Twelve! On a serious note, l managed to convince my brother to buy a red example in '77 with the asking price of $6990. As he was a 17 year old working for the Herald as a printer/engraver, the $500 deposit was returned by Tony Jones Motors in Mitchum because the Herald Credit Union wouldn't stretch the loan to that level. He bought a '73 Alfa GTV 2000 instead.....
The 912 was dubbed the “ Proxy” Porsche by those in the know. Read the article that attest to the attributes of the 912 over the 911. Airline Pilots preferred the 912 over 911s especially when stuck in Miami traffic. Back 1967, 911s had a tendency to overheat if stuck in traffic. The 912 was my dream car in 1967 when I was in high school. The cost for a new 1967 P-912 with a five speed was $ 5800. I purchased in 1991 my dream car, one owner 67 P-912 from the head flight instructor of fed Ex . In 2022, my beloved P-912 was submerged in the tidal surges of Hurricane Ian on Sanibel. I have owned 2 356s, purchased from a Pan Am pilot Currently I bought another Porsche just guess…..:)
i have a 65-66 nov 912 3gauge.. she is not perfect. it makes my bad days a little better. thanks for sharing.
I bet it does, thanks for watching 👋
If the car makes you smile, it's perfect!

What a thing of beauty !
One of the best 912’s I’ve seen ver seen
I say a well used car with patina as this 912 is a Concours car!! Well done.
Sure is, well used, well loved and well driven 👍
Great vid. What a lovely car. Great to see it driven rather than sat in a garage.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks 👍👍
Nice one! You couldn’t get a nicer dude than Hugh!
💯 so true 👍

Oh that's a nice upgrade to twin spark, first I've heard of that with a 912. Please send us some photos on instagram at outlawgarage2013 thanks 👍

Wow those were the days
12 volt. 90mm generator.
Didn't think of that 👍👍
If the 911 is a “Nine Eleven” the 912 is a a “Nine Twelve”;-)
3 5 6 or 3 56?
@@OutlawGarage either works…there’s no way to say 356 in under 3 words. Nine Eleven, Nine Twelve > Nine One One, Nine One Two

912's suck, I have had two.
Not a fan? Why don't, just the missing power of the 911?
