As a nufc fan l honestly felt sorry for sheffield united after 4th goal went in...to win against a team trying to compete is amazing but sheffields players gave up and did not give their fans anything. Tbh tho manager trying a diamond midfield against nufc is just nuts...l would of played 4 5 1 with 2 dm ...that would of made thrm hard to breakdown...but a good win for nufc...just l did feel for sheffield fans...just because their players gave up at home

I was in the Railway Tavern before the Toon's match at Bramhall Lane in 1994 and it was full of Magpies - the only time I've ever seen a pub drunk dry. The draft ran out at about 1:30, bottled beers by 2:00 and when the place emptied around 2:30 the spirits were gone and they only had Mirage and Taboo left. The landlord said he was closing for the weekend as there wouldn't be a delivery until Monday.

Newcastle are a fantastic team, mixing it with man city and Chelsea. I'd actually got us down to lose 0-3, but even I was surprised at how we folded. You can't tell me any Newcastle fan wasn't surprised either.

Having worked on the tools a number of years and having worked many occasion in the North East, I have many a Geordie mate. I've worked away weeks at a time and i've never felt more at home anywhere else in the country. I completely agree with some of the connections and comparisons drawn in the video. Newcastle folk are very similar to Sheffield folk in the respect that we are true to our roots, whilst proud of them at the same time. We all work hard, proper labour at that... we all long to keep the traditions of our forefathers alive, because we don't want to change or lose who we are.... We love our football and enjoy healthy rivalry with our neighbours....but above all, were all made of the right stuff. The majority share the same old fashioned values and forgive my french, we don't take sh*t. Don't get me wrong, I picked up the phone to a bit of stick after an 8-0 hammering....But all in the right spirit. But these are the same mates who supported us royally last season and wanted us to stuff boro. My geordie mates are some of my best mates. They have had highs and lows just like we have, but they stay true to who they are. Even now with money around the place, they don't want to lose who they are.... I respect that. They won't allow their club to be bought and to lose it's proud history and heritage like both Manchesyer Clubs did. No owner, manager or player will be bigger than the badge. Absolutely shocking scoreline, but top bunch.
Great stuff mate I bet those fans were devastated after the match as it sounds like Sheffield Utd are in trouble but Newcastle have been in the same boat before. Like I say great stuff that you get stuck in with opposing fans.
