Well done Eddie on finding some proper mackems, the fans you interviewed here were realistic and somewhat humble and are the reason, as a Newcastle fan, that I respect Sunderland and (most) of their supporters.
What this shows is actually people are very pleasant and it's just a bit of harmless fun amongst normal people, then there are those that are so brainwashed they think it's a lot more, taking it too far to the point of hatred, and for what? Living 14 miles away? Supporting a different team?
Eddie, I feel like you’re a naturally likeable guy and can get away with this better than most. You’re great at bantering with people and keeping it lighthearted. I really enjoy the videos where you’re chatting to people.
Apart from some of the kids, think most were really nice with you. Suspected it would be quite antagonistic and possibly nasty but they were dead canny in general. Good video and interesting.

Apparently in the 60s & 70s, quite a few Newcastle fans went along to support Sunderland when possible....my Dad was telling me they would rather a local team beat a London team. Strange how much the attitudes change over the years!

I live in leicester and im moving to sunderland this week. I know nothing about football. Ive never been to a match in my life. I went to the stadium of light and bought a shirt though. I wore it in newcastle not understanding the rivalry it diddnt go down to well lol. Oh well you live you learn. Personally i love everyone in the north east.
This was a 5 year plan to qualify for the CL. To do it ahead of schedule, the reality now is we have to do it every season otherwise it’s a failure. Massive summer to come, contracts expiring leads to sparse squad. The owners have to take this opportunity, be clever with FFP, to make sure a CL spot is now a given, otherwise, what’s the point in coming into football
