I received mine 3 weeks ago. I’m not a creator but a writer. I dictate the rough drafts and then use a transcribe app to create a text file. This microphone is perfect. There are several wireless microphone systems and I choose Rode because of past experience with their products. The build quality is as close to perfect as I could possibly want. 3:41
I lived in Tulsa from 1979-1983 and had to work in Big D many times (Southland Corp (7-11) was one of my customers there). Well familiar with "variable" Big D weather! :0)))
Cool stuff. I'm too entrenched with using a Zoom H1 for my stuff at home to make it worth the cost ;). For sure for my interviews it would work about 85-90% of the time, but that last 10-15% it won't as I will have 3 people on camera. So I use an H6 for that. The audio quality is very good. I heard a couple spots where the signal dropped for the briefest of seconds, but other than that I think it's a great option for solo creators.
It would be nice to see a review of tiny usb hubs that only have usb-c ports. I currently have to choose between using an ssd and a mic. I’m really happy to see that new Lexar hub although I think an ssd with a built in hub would be the most space-efficient. The new Moment grip is nice but I can’t tell how many ports it has. On the Lexar hub the port where the ssd goes has an odd shape. Can regular usb cables fit in there or is it only usable by their SSD?
Besides the main port that connects to the adapter, there are three others - all usb-c. Two are for data and one for charging. I did a video using various hubs and adapters here… th-cam.com/video/7JNtt3-F4bw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=I-PNUhtFmBh51Ci6
@@iphoneographers That 'advanced' hub would work in a pinch with adapters, but its not what I really want. I want a bunch of usb-c ports and it only has one, plus a bunch of other stuff I don't want. And its not just that manufacturer. When I looked last summer I couldn't find any usb-c hubs that had more than one usb-c data port. Some didn't have any. Its pretty baffling. That's why I'm so glad to see Lexar's new hub. Hopefully there were more introduced at CES that I haven't found out about yet.
Ooh, I just found a review by Amy Skorheim on Engadget (The best USB-C hub for 2025) where she reviews the EZQuest Slim Gen 2 which has 4 usb-c data ports! Its pretty large though and costs $80 on amazon.
It would depend on what kind of sports and how rough it is… Because these simply clip on and could potentially fall off. But since they’re clipped to the outerwear and not under your clothes they shouldn’t get much rustling sound.
I bought a much cheaper wireless (Bezosmax) that has USB-C, lightning and 3.5mm on the recevier end, so it fits my newwer Samsung fone, ancient iPad, and nearly anything else, no cables,, and still compact.
I can’t get why you compare this mic to PRO and say „identical” since they are not. There is a massive sound degradation/distortion comparing to PRO. I can’t imagine that no one here it.
There is no distortion. I’m not sure what you’re hearing. The micro are brighter and the pro have more bass, but once you post process you can match them nicely (what your hearing is straight out of the mic, which you would almost never use without adding EQ or compression). And besides, you normally wouldn’t be using two different mics together. The point was just to show that the micro sound very good at a lower price point.
I love the lark m2 😮❤😊

Agreed. Rode is one of the industry leaders for a reason. Their mics are built well and they last and their quality is excellent.
@@iphoneographers I do have a USB microphone from Rode that was 99 pounds, but it still works perfectly after 10-12 years.

Yep! You can get whiplash for sure. :)
Does the auto gain feature work in the iPhone stock camera app? Great video!
Yes, it’s a function of the hardware/software in the mic.

I hope to see you review the tilta khronos system one day
I would like to, and at one point I was supposed to but I never got one. They’re hard to get at the moment I’ve heard.

I always Love Rode Product, Better than China Brand
Has anyone used these for sports? My current mic makes a scratchy sound during physical activity. I’m hoping these capture clear audio for sport 🤞

I hate that it’s hard to use with the phone case on
I got the hollyland M2. Are smaller, cheaper and do exactly the same.
Yeah, those are a good option.
