@@ThinkMediaTV I currently own the Hollyland Lark M2 but, I bought a DJI Action 5 Pro and figured I’m better off buying the mic mini as well. Love the Hollyland still. Can’t wait to try out the mic mini! 🙌🏽
I've had the Hollyland for about 5 months or so, I use it sometimes for my YT content. For what they cost and how they perform for me I have no complaints. AND they also work in my PC. Not what I got them for (I have an Electrovoice RE20 going through a DBX 286s so I'm good) but I decided to try it and it works. You have to select the receiver in your audio tab in Windows.
Coming from using Sennheiser UHF wireless systems for the past 15 years, I was very reluctant to step into the 2.4 Ghz field. I sprung for the DJI Mic Mini shortly after it was released. Perfect timing. I have to say I am blown away by the quality, sound, and battery life, and at $240 CDN, it is a bargain.
This is by far the best comparison video I have seen on TH-cam until now for the Budget Wireless Mic ! Great job on actually delivering in the right manner ❤
Most people still have lighting iPhones, and this is where the holly land m2 fails. When using 2 mics they are summed together, there is no split track (stereo) via the lightning connector. Original Dji mic had the same issue but they resolved it with mic 2.
Thanks for this review. It went into as much as possible in this kind of head to head and still come in at less than 20 minutes. I got the Hollyland and despite its second place ranking, this review gave me more confidence about going this route for my particular use cases. I definitely appreciate the fairness and the explanations that help us when weighing these factors for ourselves. I also think if someone wanted to just go with your number one pick they wouldn't go wrong unless the (modest) price difference was a deal breaker for them. And yes, I did get mine (the Hollyland combo) for a sale price of $120.
The DJI Mic Mini is totally worth the wait! Just like you said, the sound quality is on point, it's super easy to use, and the battery life is impressive. Can't beat that!
I think another category that the Hollyland Lark M2 thrives in is the discretion. Coming from an era where wireless mics are unsightly when clipped on (I'm looking at you, DJI Mic 2 & Rode Wireless Go), I think the M2 is the least distracting. Plus - if you are filming something that requires brand discretion, then the stickers that come with with the Lark M2 is perfect! Honestly, I use the black stickers so that it's barely noticeable. Would love to see if there's a discreet version of the DJI Mic Mini without the DJI branding.
I watched the whole video! Great comparison, that answered all questions in my head! Thanks, you made the decision easier for me. Just one thing, Mic Mini has two transmitters, which mean you can record with someone else, yes?
Thank you for the video! I am on the edge of getting one of those, and since I never had a mic, I would like to ask you: "Hoolyland looks cheaper to get, and this is suitable for me, but my only concern is that the mic does not have a backup." Since I am going to shoot short movie with the friends and only "professional" who is going to be on the set is me, could you please let me know how can I avoid to lose the signal between transmitter and receiver each time? Is it about avoiding walls, people and certain stuff between transmitter and receiver?
Nice video for a beginner you tuber.. what did you use to get that consistent downward view you used for the stickies with the scores on them.. thanks since I’ll be doing product reviews without showing anything else ..
I bought the Hollyland 2 days ago and just bumped into this video today. I canceled my order and placed a new one for the DJI Mic mini. I have to be honest, this video gives a detailed breakdown on each categories. I was previously influenced to buy the Hollyland due to watching 2 "influencer" videos. These few reasons affirmed my switch to DJI: 1) I have an osmo pocket already. 2) The case makes more sense, as it holds all accessories 3) The battery life is better. 4) Wind protector is very portable and doesn't look bulky Thanks for the video, found it very helpful.
if people already own for example the the osmo pocket, its a total price game changer. i do like that DJI gives the option of, buy the full kit or buy the Mic alone
This video comes at the right time because I was considering to get a microphone. I have a problem with my iphone 13 that picks up so much noise from far away and I need a microphone that suppresses that noise.
I am planning to get it for instrument recording. Like doing guitar/ukulele covers. Do you think Lark M2 capable to captuire good quality sound for that? From your perspective, ofc. Thank you in advance!
I would be interested to see how these stacked up against the neewer mini wireless mics that have recently come out as they are cheaper that all of these and seem to offer all the same features
I have dji mic 2 and hollyland m2 ... Features wise dji mic 2 leads and ofcourse the price is high but as a user hollyland mark2 audio crisp and quality is just amazing and gives tough competition to dji mic 2😀
In my opinion the connectivity should have gone to the DJI, yes the Lightning accessory is an additional cost, but Lightning is being phased out so not many people wouldn't need it and there is an accessory that can be purchased by older iPhone users, but Bluetooth is missing on the Hollyland which might not be as good as the tethered connections but it is still useful in a pinch when you only have the transmitter available! 😃
This is the best comparison among the three I’ve watched. Personally, I prefer the Rode Wireless Pro for any professional video production projects and if sound quality is top priority, but the DJI Mic Mini has surprised me and became my go to for social media content or on-the go filming since I got mine. Rode unfortunately really dropped the ball on the Micro mic. I know they could have done better. I wonder why they didn’t. Keep these up! So great.
Have a question, which one do you think would be better for capturing? Sounds like from a motorcycle muffler and then maybe another for something else maybe voice?
QUESTION: When using any of these mics with an IPhone, is there a way to hear the audio as it's being recorded? (Rather than completing the recording, THEN going back to listen to make sure the audio sounds ok.) Do any of these receivers also connect with airpods or allow you to plug in headphones to listen live?
Hmm, I guess my one question is still unanswered and that is; do any of these mics worth with the TH-cam app for live streaming? I have the original DJI Mic and even tho I can record audio with the built-in camera on the iPad, I could not get TH-cam's app to recognize the mic for live streaming.
Whoa this guys voice, I can’t get through a full minute, keeps making me wanna clear my throat, or like I have too much saliva, what is that - I really wanted to watch this one too. Drink some water bro, shoot in the morning… something. I’m tryina stay watching Think Media 😅
I have Rode mics, the full size DJI (that came with my Osmo) and recently bought the Hollyland. Interviews on the fly and quick audio requirements and I will tell you that i consistently reach for the Hollyland over and over again. Amazing sound and phenomenal flexibility
So if you want a good quality sound and easy to use and simplistic wireless mic, go with the Røde. If you also want good quality sound but more features and complications go with any of the other two. I just saved you 20 minutes
I bought the Hollyland and they are just great quality and price make it the best buy in my point of view for somebody like me who isn’t a professional but wants a good sound quality. Really enjoyed your review thanks a lot

WHAT??? The Hollyland sounds THE BEST and you know this man!!! The Hollyland sounds better than the DJI Wireless 2 let alone this one! This is why I never trust TH-camrs who became Commercial Ads Channels! LOL
I do not agree with you at all on the sound quality test, the M2 wins based on all my testing, it has the absolutely best low and mid levels out of the other two. All DJI mics have a slight tinny sound to their recordings and not much low end(bass) at all! But hey, it could be that my ears are just broken, hope not!!
Hilarious… I love to see all the David and Goliath fans jumping out to save the little guy more often than not just because of a hate level towards the bigger brands. Shouldn’t it be about the actual product… Everyone has a different budget.
For me personally, the RODE honestly sounds like dogpoo in comparison with the other two. I really don't get the hype... The other two seem to sound identic so it no matter wich one. I go with the Hollyland.
Great video comparison, but I'd give the DJI Mic Mini a ZERO on the receiver when it comes to connecting to SMARTPHONES! It's 3x's bigger than the Hollyland & RODE. It was designed primarily for use with DSLR cameras! Also, give the Hollyland mics top prize for including black or white STICKERS to cover up their logo!
I bought the Rode and Hollyland - and got way better sound out of the Rode and retuned the Hollyland. It coming in last for sound quality validates that further. Haven’t tried the DJI.

I got my Dji mic mini, and I love it ❤
Great little mic.
is it worth it for smaller creators
Your video was super helpful! The DJI Mic Mini's windscreen solution is just perfect. It's the best among the three, hands down. Going for it!
Glad to hear it! The DJI Mic Mini is a great choice.
Beautiful comparison. Happy New Year
Happy New Year! 🎉
One of the few comparison videos worth watching! Thanks!
Appreciate you watching!
What a great review!! Love how detailed it is 💯💯
An excellent review - thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm completely new to both of these wireless mic's. Thanks for the vid!

Thanks ✌🏽
Thank you for this great review. This is honestly the best comparison video i have seen! Keep the reviews coming!
Great video. I definitely will be getting one of these asap.
You won't regret it! 😎
Just ordered my DJI mic mini! It’s taking forever to get here.
It’s worth the wait!

I got the DJI Mic Mini the day it was released and it has been great!
I’m planning on getting the ZV E10 Mark 2 and pair it with the Dji Mic Mini
Thnx for this information 🙂🙂🙂

One thing I wanna mention that Hollyland M2 Have arrow in the backside whichbshow the direction of mic when u insert it in the dead cat😊😊😊😊
I didn't even notice that! Thanks for pointing it out!

Mini all the way, esp if you have a pocket 3 or Action 4/5, it is a no brainer.
Agreed completely
On Hollyland, can you conect 2 microphone to one receiver? For example i want to do a video with iphone where 2 people talk

Parece que hay algún problema con Rode que va más allá de la calidad de sus micrófonos. Tal vez no pone publicidad en tu canal?
I hear there are issues with the DJI mic and iOS 18.
Samsung S23fe(exynos processor) is compatible for dji mic mini or not??

WHAT??? The Hollyland sounds THE BEST and you know this man!!! The Hollyland sounds better than the DJI Wireless 2 let alone this one! This is why I never trust TH-camrs who became Commercial Ads Channels! LOL
to me, dji sounded the best, lark sounded 2nd and rode sounded the worst (quite robotic) in the sound comparison
It's funny that Rode is now bulky!
Right?
Small TH-camrs 😢

the Lark 2 is the most inconspicuous mic going, people will not even realise you have a mic on
True
2 marcas chinas vs 1 australiana
What is Rode even doing???.... Lol.... My M2 has been amazing... Got it during the black Friday sale... Nuff said
Should have included the Sennheiser Profile. I recently bought this system and I have to say, it's as good as my DJI setup.
i bought the lark m2 last month. just simply fantastic!!
Great to hear!
Great video comparison, but I'd give the DJI Mic Mini a ZERO on the receiver when it comes to connecting to SMARTPHONES! It's 3x's bigger than the Hollyland & RODE. It was designed primarily for use with DSLR cameras!

Mic quality alone I actually love rode but now I'm using the lark m2😊
If you use dji product or don't have budget issue go for dji mini but the best value is hollyland without doubt
after this scores I think DJI is great for cameras, but that bulky receiver is annoying to carry on a phone for phone creators.
I am really happy with my Hollyland Lark M2.
It’s amazing!
Same here. It was recommended from a content creator i watch when it was on Black Friday sale for $111
Same here man and I use it all the time!!
@@DavidWinstead So do I. I love the magnetic system over a basic clip system
Same here. Had I waited until the DJI mini came out, I would've strongly considered it instead. Both sound great.
Dji receiver is too big and unstable for mobilephone. How can u hold phone with receiver?🤣🤣🤣 DJI is perfect for DJI camera, bcs No receiver required.

I fully agree. Having watched this fully before commenting, I felt a huuuuuuuge DJI bias. Crazy amounts.
The sound on the Lark M2 is brighter (which a lot of people value) but it isn’t necessarily better. The DJI has the cleanest sound which is the most accurate to how people sound in person. Everything fitting in the DJI case is a massive perk for anyone filming outside consistently too, especially the wind muffs.
super agree with this comment. so sad, been following this channel for a long time, but this episode is so bias. appreciate the effort though...
The holliland mic case can fit the other 2 receivers by putting them horizontally. So you could bring them but only 1 receiver at a time
One thing i will note about the receiver is that an all in one receiver can be heavy if connected to a phone relative to the other dedicated phone receivers.
😮💨 Mic ceivers can be some real growing pains.
