It's good, I have it, the quality is very good, the only thing that bothers me on it is the wind muff, here Rode have really taken care of that problem with their wind muff design.
I find the sound to be excellent, it's funny, the small ones sound pretty great, much like the Lark M2, that also is incredible. Maybe it's because they're so small they surprise us so. Thanks!

Auntie Philip I love you! I'm listening to this video with Dynaudio studio monitors, and your outdoor Rode audio sounds richer with more dynamic range, especially in the lower frequencies, than your studio mic. I've got the Rode Wireless Go 2 kit which does the job OK, but I would love 32 bit float. Also a 12 inch pianist.
@@PhillipSkraba too hard, next up it’s gonna be DJI mic Mini. Rumours is out and anticipating it ad well. Gonna hold up my purchase for additional DJI mic 2 , add on for my pocket 3 combo. Well, this is basically fully auto Dan, no need to use the app unless you want to split the channels, apart from that this adjusts the gain itself which is absolutely perfect for someone who can't be bothered with levels or has no idea how to set them.
Lark M2 is £137 and is the combo version, you can't beat it!! $149 and you can't connect your DSLR no for ne. But great video mate! In my opinion the right price is around $80 I think DJi is making wireless mic which will cost around $60. This is what I call cheap and affordable.
I don't really mind the price as long as I get the best audio quality, and let's be honest, that's what Rode brings to the table. DJI is good when it comes to tech, but you can't beat Rode's audio. The Lark M2 is a good one, I have a few problems with it when it comes to the wind muffs, but generally very good audio.
This guy everywhere I look on Instagram, now he's here, there is nowhere to run and hide. The Lark M2 is no doubt one of the best sounding tiny mics out there, but this, this is just as good and it has wind muffs that don't test my limited patience.
Well, it doesn't have 32-bit float, but it does have auto-gain which does a fantastic job at automatically setting the gain in real-time so you don't have to worry about it.
Nice review. Thanks. Do you know if it will work with the Insta360 x3/x4? It seems like it would, although the transmitter may not since the usb c is inset a bit also it would be visible since the mount is horizontal. Hmm.

@@PhillipSkraba Agreed brat, but which is better or are you conflicted due to sponsorships? Personally, I own both the DJI Mic 2 and Rode Wireless Go 2 and have to say both of them are awesome but I would have to give it to the Rode Wireless 2 based on sound clarity (not loudness or distance a the DJI would win there). However, the Rode Micro seems to be targeting a different segment such as smart phone users so I think it's going to be clear that it won't stack up whereas the Rode Wireless Go 2 is more for camera applications like the DJI Mic 2.
@@DungarooTV I do not have any conflicts when it comes to sponsors, and I always tell the truth. Yes, this is aimed at a totally different user, it hasn't got manual controls, it doesn't have 32-bit float, it's made for the auto-user. Not saying this is a bad setup but there are cheaper options around. Also given that also DJI will release a 'mini' soon its probably best to wait. This is because path the pocket3 and action5pro don't need a receiver at all and only the dji has 'good' quality over BT (own protocol) and you can connect 2 mic2 transmitters without a receiver and that makes way more sense on these little cameras. If you add 2 mic2 it will cost you 198 vs 149 i agree but you will also get some extra stuff like internal recording, 32bits, external lav option. I suspect 2 dji mini's transmitters (announced soon) will be cheaper than $149. Still its cool to see how fast and nice 2 channel wireless setups are dropping in price.
Absolutely, if you're using DJI products, their bluetooth connection works really well, but if you're using other products the bluetooth audio from the DJI mics sounds horrible. I'm interested to see what DJI drops, but I'm confident Rode will still have the best audio quality.
Great observations. Have you tried using the Wireless Micro with a MacBook and Rode Connect software? How about a GoPro or a Sony ZV/a6700 which both have USB-C?
Thanks, yes, it does work with the Macbook, I forgot to mention that in my video, but it does not currently work with any of the Rode desktop software. It will not connect to the GoPro as the GoPro door is too deep and it won't reach, and it won't connect to any of my Sony cameras.

@scb2scb2 Rode has only audio products and it excels at audio quality, so it really depends on what you’re looking for, practicality or the best sound quality.
Great audio. But why didn't you use it in the office? The audio there was crap by comparison!!!
My studio/office has such insane echo, that would have helped, you're right, thing is I like filming in my studio with my big boy camera, which it won't connect to, the only way to make that work would be syncing the audio with a clap via the Rode Reporter app.
Compare this to the hohem mic 001
Let's not be silly.
Cheapest 2 channel wireless mic - no way. Ulanzi J12 is available for around £50 in the UK. USB-C or Lightning, has 2 mics and one reciever. Case charges them. Only thing is no dead cat but they sound pretty good. I haven't even started on other systems/makers
Using the Ulanzi mic, which I have, is like using my camera microphone, the quality is painfully bad.
@@PhillipSkraba depends doesn't it. It is wireless so will be better if you are farther away from the phone/camera/whatever. You get what you pay for, as always
No backup channel. Useless
Useless you say. Hell, I've never even used a backup channel, in my whole entire life, but I've only been in the film world for 20 odd years, so maybe I just know what I'm doing.
