  • BGA Rework - a difficult technique to master. Requires practice, knowledge of the process, materials, tools, and a steady hand. At MERIT we teach this from a manufacturing standpoint, but what about 3rd party repair? They need to reball occasionally. Using our Manncorp RW1210 BGA rework tools, our X-ray microscope, and some of our Hakko and Quick hand-soldering tools, we show one of many ways to do BGA reballing, one of many ways. Is it hard? Yes. Can it be done? You bet!

What size is your solder spatula? I was looking to get one myself and I don't know what size fits most applications. I am a hobbyist and I am mostly interested in nand and emmc chip reballing. Thanks!

EMMC reballing is totally worth it for data recovery, I could see that. I think i'm using the Hakko T15-1402 hakkousa.com/products/soldering/t15-1402-blade-tip.html Something close too it, they're intuitive to use, but do take care of them to make sure they're clean after use, very important for long term use.
