That said, Trans people have been in North America with the Native Americans since they walked across the land bridge from Siberia thousands of years ago. You can still see them today (the Two Spirit people). That said, sure, I have no doubt that trans people have been in Pakistan longer since it was settled far earlier in human development. There are lots of trans people in both countries and it's unfortunate that many people in the west do not realize this. How many trans people per capita would you estimate in Pakistan? 1 in 200? 1 in 400? I realize there probably isn't any actual census or survey data on this.

Im a Pakistani born and raised guy. This documentary is both sad and equally positive, in that coming across transgender people in day to day life is a norm for most urban Pakistanis, as generally the community is openly welcomed at weddings and equally found on streets shopping and getting on with life. Attitudes will surely change with normalisation of the community taking up more responsible and professional roles. There is now likes of Dr Meerub and others who are well educated, articulate professionals braving their way into spheres once considered untouchable for the rest of the transgender or even LGBTQ community.
Eventually, we all need to love and respect other human beings for just that fact, regardless of their gender or personal life choices.

NO OFFENCE, but over 450+ species display homosexual tendencies (which is natural and not man-made btw) but oh here we have adib from pakistan or whatever calling it unnatural because he holds personal biases against gay people. you men are so blinded by hatred that your religion preaches that you have forgotten what it means to be human.

@@johnnyearp52 I really dont care what they do...I just believe that my daughter of 12 has it push down there throat in school that the girls in her class are say its cool to be a lesbian. At 12????...when some of the children are having trouble with basic math, english and or geography. That should be left for the parents if they want to teach there children that. If a very young child can't vote, drive or even have a bank account or even serve in the military ...the government should not push this down they're throat til they are mature enough to make that decision on there own. That they say its ok for them to mutilate there bodies and find out later they made a mistake. It always seems to surprise me, that if trans are mislabeled...how easy the Testosterone comes out in anger.

God created Man and Woman, and only God can break that brokenness, the Lord Jesus Christ is the true God and no Man will ever be free from gender dysphoria if the person does not put Christ in His Heart and accept Him as the true savior. The Lord Jesus Christ said,
    Matthew 11:28-30
" Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in Heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Right? It pains me that ppl think Pakistan is a hostile place for anyone who isn't a "straight male" yeah a lot of it stems from boomers and their conservatism it's something that will take years to die just as it did in the west at same time tho Pakistan is way more progressive than some western countries its straight up legal to be trans and have no gender identity on passports and stuff.

While it is difficult to determine the extent to which this occurs, it is possible that some individuals in Pakistan might identify as transgender to pursue same-sex relationships without facing the legal consequences of engaging in homosexual acts. Given the more accepting environment and legal protections for transgender individuals compared to those for homosexuals, it could be seen as a safer option.

It probably doesn't occur often, as you would have to literally live your life as a woman, at least in public, to accomplish that. And for the vast majority of people, that would go against their gender identity. So while I am sure some small percentage might be able to do that, I highly doubt any significant number of cis men are pretending to be trans to marry their lover.

I would suggest to use subtitles rather using the English translated audio on the video as it keeps overlapping and it kills the original essence of the words delivered by the subject.
