Samsonov is my idol in TT. Not only because i have a somewhat similar bodytype, but also because of his tactics, his coolness and his style of playing. He's so effortless, aware of the ball and yet he has that killerinstic going in and finishing the point, when its needed! Masterclass!

you would probably tell that Xu xin was not thinking of winning in this match. After losing in the semi-final match Xu appears to be day-dreaming.
Samsonov has one of the most elegant backhands in table tennis. He was so driven in this game that he used this sparingly but at the right moment!
Samsonv is just brilliant in this sport and win matches with very minimal efforts...

Samsonov's backhand block down the line was the killer in the 90's and if you tried to play to the wide forehand he used to block to wide angles.

Xu Xin at 22 shouldn't be inexperienced,Samsonov at 21 reached the final of the WTTC despite having much inferior coaches.

Samsonov is one of the best defensive players on the circuit, without being a chopper. He doesn't move back and lob as much as Maze, though. His blocking game is second to none. The top Euro players can beat any of the Chinese on a good day.

im not a professional sportsman and i have no idea how they considering whose points, but personally i dislike that kind of moves, when you compete and want to win, do your best to win, dont give up anything. Theres nothing wrong in losing 0 to 11, shake hands after the match, no one needs that "mercy". I am not judging or something, perhaps it's some kind of tt ethics i suppose.

Performance game!
Xu Xin had so much problems finding the edge of the table, there are like a dozen rallies where he just keeps hitting forehand to forehand shots, with no variation at all, afraid to switch to Samsonovs backhand, and Vladimir calmly blocks them all. He wasmt really tested here.
Xin also didint really learn from lessons till the very last set, constantly losing points the same way (e.g.: attacking Samsonovs forehand pendulum serve on the return immediately, and receiving a blistering backhand block)
