What wattage would you recommend for growing plants and how far from top should it be positioned?

Wattage will depend on how big of a tank you want to use it on. I am using 10 watt lights for this tank. Height is personal preference and variables: lids? Canopy? How you want to mount?

It will depend on what your wants are of the lights. If you are wanting to do plants I would recommend a couple of the larger watt lights.

If you are not doing plants you could use the 10 watt lights. Just depending on how much light you want in the tank
