I remember playing this when it came out, still have the game. That dog was there as a little appetizer to gain a bit of health back.
The composer for Jurassic World, Michael Giacchino also did the soundtrack for this game and the Lost World on PS1!

Yeah ya gotta hand it to them for a different type of game like this, I really liked the other Ps1 JP game, where you switched between the T-Rex, Raptor, Human hunters and stuff. Had phenominal music. I think it was called The Lost World, loosely based on the second movie.

IIRC you can eat some of the sheep/people/dinosaurs etc in the arena to refill health. I may remember wrong though.
I like the idea of the Encyclopedia mode for the Dino Bios. That was one of my favorite features in SimAnt. Also I really dig the graphics.
I'd have to say my favorite JP game is the first one on SNES. It is insanley fun. Good graphics, Amazing music, FPS gameplay for interior stages, Zelda-style but with missles and knockout gas for the Overworld. It's definitley in my Top-10 favorite games for the system, and if it actually had a save feature I would find a way to fit it in my Top-3. I would not hesitate to pay full $60 retail for a modern remake of it.
I think eating the people or animals that are running around used to give you a health boost? I'm pretty sure

I really enjoyed this game back in the day, but i didn't see the Jurassic park movies untill recently.
This game actually looks pretty cool, may have to try it out sometime.
I'm really looking forward to Lego Jurassic World, that should be AWESOME!
Though I've not played many of the Jurassic park games I have fond memories of playing the Lost World on the Sega Saturn!
hey John I thought you might find it interesting that before Primal Rage there was an awesome Dinosaur fighting game called Dino Rex that Taito made. Check it out its pretty awesome
Aside from the arcade lightgun games I would have to say the Sega CD version is my favorite. Great review!

Big fan of killer instinct maybe I'll give this a go if I find a copy sometime
you can eat those figurines who roam arround (humans, dogs, sheep, etc) to restore health, I had this game but didn't enjoy much out of it, I really hated when the oponent knocks me and starts eating in what seems an endless combo I don't know how to get out... aside from that to be honest I really liked the museum idea
I know this is late but, what I did was literally just Spam the buttons in order. That way.
Remember to strafe and grapple, finally don't forget the Sprint tackle. T-rex has the best hitbox of them all.
The new Jurassic Park arcade game looks great. Look into that one.
it would have been a novelty if you could have ate said sheep/dogs/people and got health back during the bouts
Nice review Gamester81! You should definitely pick up Jurassic Park Interactive for the 3DO; it's cheap and pretty fun! Jurassic Park on the Master System is my favorite so far. I would love to play Jurassic Park on the Sega CD, but I don't have a Sega CD yet.
Just saw Jurassic World today. Easily the best Jurassic movie since the first one, and one of the best movies that I've seen in years. Absolutely fantastic.
The dog is most likely a reference too the third? movie where the dog gets eated (man that was a bad movie)
Great review!!! Personally, probably one of my favorite games of all time. There is more stuff to this game then meets the eye. Unlocking the extra dinos, secret modes, and the skins (survival). And the museum is very informative if you're a dino nut, like me. Oh, and the dogs/human/sheep are edible and replenish life energy ;)
I like the lost world on ps1 a lot more. This was ok though.

Dude it's a fighting game with Dinosaurs of course you don't expect there to be music! Also who the hell cares if there are people running around the arena your they're there so you can eat them. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't matter when it comes to size in the game. You can't let little nitpicks like that ruin the game for you. Just sit back and enjoy Dinosaurs fighting each other.
Simple as that. Well that's just how I see it.
Why are game channels uploading during the Nintendo World Championships? Figured they would have a little more respect than that.

Wow that game looks bad! The jumping animation looks odd. Primal rage looks 10x better!
This game sucks! My favorite Jurassic Park games are the two on Genesis.
I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of this game. Interesting concept, but poor execution.
