Thank you for starting at the very basics. Its refreshing to click on a tutorial that doesn't treat beginners like they know everything or jump straight into modelling.
I stopped using Blender for a while and I just needed a quick recap of the basic controls without going on a deep overview of the software and this helped me A LOT. THANK YOU.
Your problem is probably that youre on Layout. You have to go on Modelling. You can find this function on the upper side. I hope I solved your problem. O w O

Just getting back into Blender after an 18 year hiatus. It sure has changed and I have lost most of what I did know back then. But thanks to you it's all coming back now. Back then you couldn't even undo. you had to constantly save so if you screwed up you could just close out and reopen the last saved good one.
Thank you so much, I am just starting out and need this so much, I am trying to build my own game for my daughter and her friends, and I don't really like using the free models in Roblox Studio, so this is super helpful, thank you so much.
I used to be able to make models like you, but then I stopped using blender for like a year then I reinstalled it and I forgot everything I learned from you, thank you for this
I JUST installed blender and THIS tutorial is EXACTLY what i needed! Thank you so much because i cannot TELL you how many times i closed it and had to walk away from my desk cuz people just dont tell you how to MOVE in this program! THANK YOU!!! biggest hugs and sending all the vibes!!
i went from source level editing to this and it bugged me for so long, most of the tutorials out there were just ridiculous and it stayed install on my pc for a year or more and then i finally found this video and it inspired me to touch the program and i've learnt more in under 5 minutes of this video than i have done from any other video i have ever watched about blender... THANKYOU! :)
Wow, you actually saved my life. I am very new to blender, downloaded it yesterday. Found many turtorials of people yapping about random stuff whilst i didn't even know how to create something else than a cube... You really helped me out a ton, thank you so much :)
this taught me 20 times more stuff in a much easier to understand way and shorter amount of time than the several 20 minute + long professional blender tutorials i watched before.
FINALLY, someone thinks that not everyone has the same skills in 3D creation! Thank you. Forget the rest of the blender youtubers!! They all on the same lala land.
I ve never worked with Blender before up until now and THANK YOU so so much for this! Now I have a great overview and the perfect base of knowledge to start ♡♡
This was probably the most helpful tutorial I've found while trying to make 3D assets for the first time for a game! A lot of other tutorials would skip over how to do the most basic but important parts of modeling, and then simply show you how to do a million different things in Blender with little to no time given to each concept. This one helped me understand what I'll be using most of the time and that's all I need to understand how to get started.
Exactly what I was looking for 🙏. All those other complex @$$ "beginner" tutorial vids out there aren't for me. This is what a noob like me need to start. Thank you!

Without the face select, S and E have different functions on my desktop. E simple duplicates the objects and S enlarges, shrink, or extends it on the z,x,y axis's.
