This murder felt so unbelievable. I get he can get places faster and easier because he’s on a dragon but I don’t believe he could fly to her land, figure out her exact location out in the wilderness, kill her and fly back on a giant, loud, recognizable dragon and not be detected. Daemon was chilling in the steps stones while Rhanerya was already married. Had given birth to jace and was about or did give birth to Luke that same year.
Showed up months after she was dead and was kicked out by lady Jeyne cause he showed up months after. He flew to Driffmark and duel Laena’s bethoted that neither Corlys or laena wanted. And won her hand and left to pentos with her and didn’t come back to Driffmark for 3 years and came back with Laena and their 2 years old twins so he could present his wife and girls in court.
He then lived in Driffmark with his girls until laena died 3 days after giving birth to a stillborn son the first month of 120 AC
Leanor was killed in daylight in spice town two months later by his former. During this funeral Aemond lost his eye and the fight was Aemond vs Luke and Jace because Aemond beat up Joffrey who was 3 before he left to go claim Vhagar.
Daemon moved with his twins with Rhaenrya and 6 months later they married and welcome their first son Aegon III at the end of the year 120 AC.
The show made it like daemon kill rhae to marry Rhaenrya. Daemon was chilling on his second exile while Rhaenrya was marrying in KL.

"The show made it look like..." SIGH. If you have read Fire and Blood, then you should be aware that it was written as an in-universe history book, of sorts. The book itself states, multiple times, that it was written by multiple UNRELIABLE SOURCES who had much reason to skew events to make themselves, or their side (in the dance), look better.
GRRM himself has stated that if anything is canon, it's the show, as it represents us watching the events "actually" unfold, so to speak. Take Lady RHEA's death, for instance; the only people present were Daemon and Rhea. We see it in the show because we're watching things happen. Her horse tripped while she was hawking, she was awake for 9 days and died shortly after rising while Daemon was literally hundreds of miles away ruling a barren kingdom.
And Daemon returned to Westeros, flew Caraxes to the Vale, his pyromanaic dragon (yes this is a character trait of Caraxes) did not eat sheep nor burn anything indicating he was present. He found Rhea alone and caved her head in with a rock. And somehow people don't know 100% if it was Daemon.

      @Vikstorm 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

@@thearchangelmichae01 Let me put you in your place categorically...
      Books as History Books:
George R.R. Martin has described his books as having elements of historical fiction and mentioned that they contain various viewpoints. This is to enhance the narrative complexity and realism. However, this doesn't mean he equates his books to history books in terms of accuracy or suggests they should be seen as less accurate than the show adaptations.
      Show Being More Accurate:
The claim that Martin has stated the show is more accurate than the books is unfounded. George R.R. Martin has not made any public statement that the show is more accurate than his books. In fact, he has been quite clear that while he respects the showrunners' work, the books and the show are distinct narratives with significant differences
      Martin's Role in the Show:
While it is true that George R.R. Martin was involved as a writer and producer in the early seasons of the show, his involvement decreased significantly in later seasons. The showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, made many decisions independently, especially in the final seasons, leading to plot developments that diverged from Martin's planned narrative in the books.
      Different Viewpoints on History:
The idea that different viewpoints on history can all be valid but not 100% accurate is a nuanced one. Martin's books are written from multiple perspectives, which can lead to different interpretations of events within the narrative. However, this literary technique is not a commentary on the accuracy of the books versus the show. It’s a narrative style to enhance depth and complexity, not a statement that the show holds more truth.
      Author’s Authority:
As the creator of the series, Martin's books are the original source material. While he respects adaptations, his books remain the definitive version of the story as he envisioned it. Suggesting that the show is more accurate than the books contradicts the nature of adaptations and undermines Martin's role as the primary storyteller.
In conclusion, the statement in the post misinterprets Martin’s views and the nature of adaptations. The books remain the most accurate representation of Martin’s story, while the show, despite Martin’s involvement, made many changes and took creative liberties, especially in its later seasons.
You're too dumb to form an opinion. You're dismissed.

Exactly. Fire and Blood is the book and even though GRRM wrote it in real life, the way that he wrote it is being told from the perspectives of maesters in Westeros who are documenting their own historic figures many years after these events took place. The maesters themselves weren’t even around these important people or alive when the events took place. They will often get their info according to rumors, propagated records, biased individuals, and their own conjectures from the incomplete sources. They are ultimately unreliable narrators and no one knows for sure how events actually went down.

It’s made clear that Fire & Blood is written by scribes (most of whom had no witnesses to events but only rumors and what they BELIEVED happened). The books don’t say that Daemon did or didn’t kill his wife. Some of the gossip is that Daemon was in the Stepstones when Lady Rhae died, and some of the gossip is that he killed her. To be fair, Dragons are the quickest way to travel in this world, so it’s not like Daemon couldn’t get back to the Stepstones quick. And threatening a bunch of people with a dragon to say “Yeah, he was definitely here in the Stepstones when she died” would be pretty easy for any Targaryen. The books don’t outright say “HEY, DAEMON DIDNT KILL HIS WIFE!”. It’s like real history, maybe it’s completely false and only gossip or maybe it was true but it made the wealthiest and most powerful people look bad (The Targaryens) so the scribes (who risk being murdered by a dragon) decided not to paint Daemon in that light. Seriously, the book Fire & Blood leaves A LOT up to your own interpretation, unlike TSOI&F.

I don't think it's so much that is character was ruined, the fact that the book points out that he only came back to try to inherit runestone does lend some Credence to the fact that he may have had her killed, the fact that she was cognizant for a little bit doesn't mean she would be able to speak about what happened to her (I don't know if this is true but I feel like she was comatose for 9 days, woke up and went to take a walk, and then died, even if she couldn't speak it's possible that she couldn't remember, what happened to her because she had to have suffered major brain damage, which might at least impact her memories of why this thing happened to her) so I wouldn't say the books don't give the theory that Damon killed her and he creedence, they imply it in passing, and you can see where the writers would get their interpretation from, because nothing in this book is really concrete it's a historical document where we don't even know everything that happened

Not really, the show REALLY and I mean REALLY, makes daemon more evil and cruel than he is in the books.
Yes he despised her, simply because he didn't want to be married to her, she had no love for him not he for her.
It was a formality marriage and daemon saw it as a way his brother used to push him away from kings landing.
This amongst many things divides the brothers
Daemon was in love with a prostitute, who was pregnant with his child. She is forced to leave at sea this pissed off daemon and he leaves to fight at the Trident to let off steam and embarrass his brother by defeating the crab king
Then the ship carrying his pregnant love is destroyed by a storm.
This pain brings the brothers back together
Daemon also doesn't necessarily struggle against the crab king in the books as he's a master of warfare. There's just so many enemies to kill and he tires of killing men who are just desperate.
So he calls out the crab king to a 1v1 to end the bloodshed, kills the crab king. And immediately helps the crab kings wounded and shares his armies supplies with them.
He wins the people of the Trident over with his compassion not cruelty.

@brentarellano46 what are you smoking bro, half of the things you wrote didn't even happen the way you think it did. For one there is no "Crab King" there was no fighting at the "Trident" Daemon didn't "lose his prostitute lover when her ship was destroyed" there was no " Daemon sharing his supplies with the "Crab Kings" men. Read the books again.
Daemon is portrayed about the same as in the books. He's an extremely grey character, and they definitely do not make him more evil and cruelly than he actually was. "REALLY AND I MEAN REALLY." What a joke.
CRAGAS CRABFEEDER was a Prince Admiral, and he took over STEPSTONES in the Narrow Sea. The TRIDENT is a river in the Riverlands. Myssaria had a miscarriage and lost the baby, but she survived and became Mistress of Whispers for Rhaenyra. Your last point about Daemon sharing and helping the wounded men of Cragas Drahar is just a fictional fact that you pulled from your ass. Never happened in the books. Also even if they didn't technically struggle as much it still took Daemom and Corlys more than two whole years to defeat Drahar.

@@MR.ZAYI1991 ok, I double checked for my sake, and the only things I got wrong,
1.) only daemons child died in the storm, and it divided daemon and the king
2.) Yes there is no crab king, I used the name for others who don't know the source material and only seen the show
3.) it's called the step stones not the Trident, I confused it with another sea based story, my bad
4.) yes they fought the war of the step stones for 2 years but didn't struggle nor were they desperate as portrayed in the show
But I wasn't wrong with saying, Daemon still isn't someone who would murder his wife.
Yes he's ambitious but not a monster to those he doesn't need to be to.
The only real slimy bad thing he did was groom his niece but even then that's from our modern perspective, in his world it's a smart move to secure future marriage.
And possibly he had her husband killed or paid him off to flee/disappear.

Okay let me tamp down on this right now, the murder itself in the show may have been illogically planned, but I can see where the writers got the idea that Damon did it, because even this video calls out the fact that he went back to runestone to try and gain inheritance of the land, which can be interpreted in two ways (either of which could be true depending on your preferences) either he's just a prick who didn't care about his wife and just wants land, or he's a prick who murdered his wife to try and gain her land, and again it is all down to interpretation, this book is not a novel, it's written as a history book with unreliable sources, so as I've said before, depending on your specific interpretation of the text anything said could or could not be Canon, the things we are told are true in the book could not be true, and the things we are told not to pay attention to because they're stupid, could be true, so I mean maybe try to actually understand the source material, before you call someone else arrogant for having a different interpretation of it, you can't really butcher a character if we don't definitively know that character (keep in mind George wrote this book from the perspective of Maesters who are alive hundreds of years after the events they depict, so they just kind of try to cobble together characterizations to fit their agenda) you definitely lose points for insulting someone, I could be wrong in my assessment though, and I would genuinely like to have a conversation with you as to how you came to these conclusions

I think daemon was a lucky man. Like he had luck as his power. He could of even became king. he got into power as a gold cloak and turned them into his personal army. Got glory from a war in step stones. Wife died . Got into marriage w laena and raenyra at the best times. Lol he could of even became king by being heir if he had the ambition to get rid of viserys. He landed all these by litterally doing nothing but taking advantage of his luck.

Sounds like the writers hate Daemon which is moronic since the rogue prince is one the most interesting character and not a one dimensional psychopathic murderer. Didn’t these people learn from their mistakes when they came up with their own interpretation and made such a bad job that everyone now hates Game of Thrones due to the horrible ending.

GRR Martin stated that the books are written from the perspective of a 3rd party who were not there. Meanwhile the show is real source of truth of the story. You're suppose to not believe what is in the book is the true source.

The writing of the murder scene was a total disappointment. I understand that they have a little leeway with the show due to the nature of the source material intentionally giving us conflicting views but this was unbelievable outside of that as people notice when dragons are flying around and this would be even more true in an area like Runestone where dragons are not often seen.

GRRM is heavily involved in the show. Fire and Blood isn't meant to be an accurate story, and the readers are forced to puzzle everything out for themselves. Other than some age related changes, the show is supposed to be the unambiguous story.
