- A look at Balerion's history. He is the largest and most powerful dragon ridden by the Targaryens in Westeros.
Images and video clips are the property of House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones and HBO and are used here under fair use. - บันเทิง
Looks like they made his skull a bit smaller than it should be.
Definitely. His teeth were supposedly as long as swords. Those are a daggers at best. Most of the dragons in HOTD have heads bigger than what they show here. If he's significantly bigger than Vhagar, then his skull would have been as big as a decent sized house.
@@angryginger791In game of thrones they made his skull too small I definently agree. House of the dragon made it much bigger though.
I agree
I really do think the cannibal eventually grew bigger than Balerian. He was the oldest and largest of the wild dragons, and he continued to live as a wild dragon after the dance of the dragons
Yeah I think it's possible. And we don't know what happened to Cannibal. He just disappeared from Dragonstone, so he likely lived on for many year. I'm very interested in seeing what they do with him on House of the Dragon.
@@reelworld1 I hope they show him, and atleast show where he went after the dance of the dragons ended. Does fire and blood speak about where he went or what happened to him after the dance
@@darianwillis8520 No in Fire and Blood it's just said that he disappeared. So it gives them some latitude on the show.
It leaves the possibilities open for more dragons in the future too. In the entire series.
I totally agree
Funny how Qyburn explains to Cersei who Balerion was as if she hasn't been living in the red keep for over 10 years and hadn't already seen the skull like a hundred times
Yea he was bogus as hell for that story! 😂
i love to imagine that Balerion is what Shruikan from the Eragon universe would look like if they made the other three books into films
I think people were scared of trying to claim Balerion, but Aegon knew he needed major power to conquer the 7 kingdoms (well 6 technically). So he took the risk.
Always found it interesting too that Viserys only claimed Balerion and never had another. He was leery of dragons after. It's as if he sensed the power, even in and older Balerion, and he shyed away from dragons after.
@@reelworld1do you think that Viserys could have claimed another dragon after Balerion died? There’s no documentation of a rider being able to claim more than one dragon.
@@JamesDeBall As long as the rider's dragon is dead, they can claim another dragon. There was a deleted scene from Season 1 where Daemon was urging Viserys to claim Vhagar.
@@reelworld1 if it was possible to claim another dragon after Balerion, Viserys should’ve claimed Vhagar. He really dropped the ball.
@@JamesDeBallIf not vhagar than vermithor. Considering his grandfather rode vermithor too
Hope to see them both eventually in the series.
Thinking George has gaps 2 fix with balerion ... Winds of winter coming 😌 patiently i will wait 😀
6 kingdoms to heel.
I think the notifications problem is over now, got it on two different devices. 👍
Obviously, because of set designs and budgets, they couldn’t make his skull the appropriate size it canonically would be, because Cersei would barely come up to the size of one of his smaller canines if they were being size accurate
hes definitely much older than 208 as its mentioned that vhagar is about the size balerion was DURING the conquest which means he must have been alive well before he was brought to dragonstone just before the doom, as its mentioned he was already of a rideable size. imagine how massive balerion was at the end of his life if that is the case, as he wouldve had more time to grow larger than vhagar. as we see in the show vhagar, whilst being massive and lumbering is not slowing down or weakening due to her age in the show or the novels. if her and caraxes hadnt killed each other i reckon she would probably still be alive for at least another 100 years
The cannibal was bigger as he was there before and after ballerion spanning almost a thousand years and might still be alive for all we know
I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with the Cannibal on House of the Dragon.
i feel like 200 years for a dragon isnt enough to die of old age. wish GRRM gave them a more lengthy lifespan
George has left it a little nebulous as to their lifespan. He has pointed out that if they're housed in the dragonpit that it can impact their size and longevity. And that's where Balerion spent his latter days. The Cannibal is the real mystery, a wild dragon that was never claimed, as far as we know. He could have been much older. I'm interested in seeing what they do with him on House of the Dragon.
I always thought Balerion was also infected with the worms when he went back to Valyria. Maybe he recovered, but it impacted his lifespan.
Powerful melanin 🗿
All that heat should have killed Aegon I. Unless if he was like Daenerys.
CHARACTER ANALYSIS OF SATORU GOJO

Is the thumbnail an AI image, or original art? It's really good.
It is AI, there are few other ones in the video too. There's a limited amount of usable Balerion artwork, and I didn't want to repeat stuff so I made a few of them.
@@reelworld1Thanks. I thought so because I'm familiar with the artwork,
there were ones I'd never seen.
Is balerion was shown in any series?
Not yet, but we'll get him in the Aegon's Conquest series that is currently in development at HBO.
Would love to see the series go back to balerions time
That's going to be one of the next spinoffs. We'll get the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms one in a couple of years, and then after House of the Dragon concludes Aegon's Conquest will be the next series.
Ballroom could swallow an auroch, which is even bigger than a cow.
My thing is where could a dragon potentially bigger than balerian go how could he just disappear and no one knowing where he went?
Some think George might pick up this thread in a future novel. I imagine The Cannibal could've flown to Old Valyria, but that didn't work out so well for Balerion.
@@reelworld1 that’s a good theory and yeah maybe he was killed or maybe he just flew to another part of the world and is just chilling who knows 😂
I thought the injury to the blk Dread was substantial.
He did have an open wound and some scars, but he wasn't diminished by it and was able to fly Aerea back. He lived another 40 years after it, whereas she died shortly after their arrival. What's interesting is what sort of creature could've even gotten any damage in on a dragon like Balerion. Would love to see them do a series on Valyria at some point, where they depict what happened there.
@@reelworld1 thats what i was thinking.. something there was so big it injured the black dread. Something down there is big as fuck
@@christainmarks106some speculate it was a firewyrm... One half of a dragon's blood magic
Why cant anyone simply yeild in this show
