Finally got it up and running. The only delays we had was because we realized we needed some extra parts (I’ll list that below) th-cam.com/users/postUgkxihMYiJNXcHdbH-7ihymsLz61l7jVyb5O . So we have a loft where our current hvac just couldn’t seem to keep cool during the summer. We have been using a window unit since we bought this house over 6 years ago (all the houses in this neighborhood were built in the 80’s and majority of the houses built like ours use a window unit). I hate window units because they are just so noisy and the one we had really only cools one side of the loft. I had contemplated upgrading our current HVAC, but with all the rising prices these days, it would take years before saving up enough to do that. With the advice of my father-in-law (used to run an HVAC business), he recommended we get an inverter instead. We thought we bought everything we needed, but there were just a few other parts we didn’t anticipate needing (which is what caused most of our delay). My friend and father-in-law did all the work to get it installed and running and now we have nice cool air circulating nicely throughout the entire loft. It is very quiet and even the outside unit is much quieter than our main HVAC unit. Saved ourselves thousands getting this.
Hi Mitch, this looks a identicle model to my Daiken 5 kw floor mounted split sysyem, they are very efficient for all weather conditions here in the Southern Highlands NSW... Compliments on a nice neat install 👍
Nice work brother! I'm on a job where the client wants 3 floor mount Daikin handlers recessed into the wall of every bedroom, just the smaller gray back. I'll let you know the outcome. Gotta scab in 2×4 to screw into
Hi, did you check what is the minimum pipe length? Usually it is 2 to 3 metres (6 to 9 feets). I don't think it's much of a problem, if weather stays over zero Celsius. If weather stays below zero, it will constantly go to defrosting mode.
Yep sure did. You’re correct though, this is shorter then the minimum length they state in the specs however I got told that it’s fine in my location by Daikin tech support. Long story short, the lowest temp you’ll ever get here on the coldest winters morning is about 6°c and that is rare. Normally a winters morning is about 15°c. I’ve never heard back from the client so I assume all is well.
@@maracservices Hi Mitch, I was almost sure there are no temps below zero there. I'm from Finland and I have three heat pumps ...and a fireplace ..and a few stoves. And a sauna. I'm like I don't belong in this country, because it's almost spring, when I'm becoming accustomed these freezing temps we have here in winter.
@@jennamoonchild Finnish people must be tougher then Australians because I reckon I would not be able to survive such harsh climates haha. Sauna and ice baths sound crazy to me! A lot of houses here in Australia don’t have insulation in them to save money because it’s not necessarily required with our climate. Although I’d still put it in my house if I had the option.
Excellent work mate. Tidy. Not having a pop just a couple of questions. No strength/pressure test before vacuuming lines? what's the minimum lineset recommended for that model unit?
I'm thinking of getting the MFZ-KJ for my basement, but the operation manual mentions nothing about condensate. Is there a built in pump or do you need to add a condensate pump?
@@maracservices THank you, Mitch. If you don't mind, - cannot find info about drain hose. Daikin specs saying "13/16 connector". But there is no such thing as 13/16 hose available. What hose should I order? both 9000BTU and 18000 BTU units have the same "13/16" connector.
That’s the first time I’ve seen a console install, nice work as usual mate… No room up high I assume??? My U4 fault had no power on t3, so I swapped out the outdoor board and fan motor and away it went…. Thanks again for sharing 👍🏼.. Do you use the Daikin global service bank for sourcing the parts/models???
Thanks mate. Yeah so this room had no room up high (to many windows). That’s good to hear about the U4 fault 👍🏻. I actually haven’t used the global service bank to be honest. I just ring spare parts and get a price and availability over the phone and then send them a purchase order via email. Iv got a few Daikin service call videos I want to get out but unfortunately I’m waiting for the parts to come in stock again. Daikin seem to be struggling to keep everything in stock at the moment.
So Ive just provided you with a few more views across you videos lol but noticed you didn't run a vac stat back in the day and vac through gauges/1/4 lines? Seeing you are more evacuation informed do you wish you knew what you knew now back in the day lol
Hey mate I have one of these currently flashing green and not working in heating, do you know any possible causes? Can't seem to find this model on any daikin app.
"You're body only make you go lovey dovey"? You have got to be kidding me. Sounds like written by someone who never graduated from high school. Makes me wonder about the quality of Daikin ACs.

I’m very interested how that will look. All the cuts in the wall will have to be perfect, won’t be easy 😬 good luck brother
Very nice clean work. But the minimum pipe length for all mininsplit type is 3m.
Look at the manual instalation first.
Why only 3?
Because the extra meter of pipe needs more refrigerant @@SilasMoleCatcher

3.5kW which if I’m correct is 12,000 BTU’s (I think).

Sorry mate dont really know what you mean. Do you mean flare nuts? To connect the pipe to the unit?
No start up vid for the VRV ?

Line set too short
Mine comes straight out the back and into the outdoor. It’s been working fine for 18 years
No such thing. Short line causes noise
Really only affects multi head systems… in my experience and from tech support from Daikin.
And you are waiting for an electrician to connect three wires, phase, zero and ground??? )))))
Music ruins it man.
