- We all have come across times when we've looked back and said " I wish I had said that then " . Well when you have such a feeling, don't wait, 'cause it's almost never as appropriate when you try to go back and say what you didn't and almost always too late.
Two of finest actors from any era. And Annette Bening is gorgeous.
Oh you bet she is 😊
Pure glass - the epitome of feminine grace. A man could die protecting such a fine woman like that without hesitation.
Everyone was perfectly cast
You meant three of the finest actors.
@@ptr1537 agreed!
easily an all time great western with a tremendously meaningful love story.
I can recall the first time I saw Costner in Silverado young wreckless and boisterous. Quiet, aged, saddleworn, dangerous as hell!
That's another favourite movie of mine. One that I could watch over and over again.
The best part of the film was finding out Boss Spearman's real name was: "Blue Bonnet."
And don’t you tell any one
Charley’s a romantic fool! Love it!
Been a westerns fan all my life 62 years open range is the best ever filmed
AGREE!
Agree..Powerful
Costner brought it to a more human level
One of my favorite westerns. Costner and Duvall are perfect in this movie, and the rest of the cast, too. Kevin Costner was also in Silverado, another of my favorites.
This is my no 1 western, Coster has made some great films.
One of my favorite westerns, is “Lonesome Dove”, along with most John Wayne movies, “”The Rare Breed”, “The Big Country” and “Shenandoah”.
You are right I didn't know how I missed this film it's one of the best
The musical score and the cinematography are absolutely superb in this movie. Oh, and that gunfight....one of the best.
I just discovered this movie this year (2020) a few weeks ago. Think I've watched it 5 times since.
I just discovered it too, it's a great movie I love it 👍💕
It's a western with a ton of heart. The chemistry between Boss (Duval) and Charlie (Costner) is incredible and the glue that holds it all together......
August 2021. Now I wanna watch it all
Awesome isn’t it
Great actors great scene. One of the best westerns ever made
I never saw Kevin Kostner as much of a Western film kind of actor before this, but he was truly awesome . I think I like the Boss, played by Robert Duvall even better. I watched this movie a few times and could do so again, without an ounce of boredom..One hell of a movie !
Check Kevin out in Yellowstone
@@cometomyfrontdoor And Dances with wolves.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve watched Open Range. I put it in the same category as Appaloosa, 3:10 to Yuma remake, the Magnificent Seven remake, Django Unchained and Tombstone; movies that bucked the narrative of modern westerns being garbage.
Kevin you worked your butt off even risked ur life to provide for ur family sweetheart, I love u and admire you immensely ❤
The passion an love an stand your ground was felt all through this movie!! One of the best!!
Such a great movie 😍
Very much worth watching again and again !
One of the top 5 westerns ever made. Love this movie could watch it over and over.
Wonderful, wonderful movie. I can sit and watch this movie any time, any place.
MK....makes two of us. After Clint Eastwood’s UNFORGIVEN this was by far the best western. Kudos to both Robert Duval and Kevin Costner.
What a great movie 🎬 🎞 🎥 🎦 📽 👏 I admire these two actors who are both major artists 🎨 😀 👌 who have been in many different movies.
Legit one of my favorite scenes in a western ever, and of every other genre honestly. I first watched Open Range when I was a teenager and Charlie’s speech at the end, after the “Men are gonna get killed here today, Sue, and I'm gonna kill 'em” section has been imprinted on my mind ever since then. I can recall it easier than my own birthday. Top 5 western of all time, right alongside Once Upon a Time in The West, Appaloosa, Tombstone, and Unforgiven. I know the math doesn’t line up at all but I liked the number 5 for this list instead of 6.
You could include Shane :)
For westerns,
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, Rio Bravo, Open Range, Tombstone, Dances with Wolves, Unforgiven, 3:10 to Yuma, Pale Rider, Fistful of Dollars, and Magnificent Seven share the top shelf in my house. Any of these can be my favorite on any given night. All classics !
Great selection of movies. Don't forget Lonesome Dove.
The Outlaw Josey Wales.
its a great part in the movie and then to say ill be seing you charlie waitt its a powerful six words ment alot to folk like me as i know a bit about losing someone special and someone very precious
Great movie!
Freaking beautiful dialogue. It’s real.
The writing in this film is exceptionally good for a western. In fact the movie is mostly talking until the last 20 minutes, which is of course a non stop gunfight, but that's ok because the dialog is so good.
Mrs Bening is stunning
James Ferrell.....AMEN!!!!!
God she's beautiful
Always liked her natural beauty. Very attractive...
Heartfelt honesty from a gunman.
The writing is terrific, when Duvall says I'd like to put pen to paper I really thought I was in the same room with them
"I'd like to put pen to paper", I especially love these expressions. I'm a language and culture buff and learnt to speak American solely from watching movies and TV serials, long before I set foot on the continent. When I came there to go to college, most people I met thought I grew up in America. Of course I put on the fine touches by being there. Movies also gave me a great insight to the culture and it made my life much easier, since I was able to blend in with people much better. I was intrigued with the old west, the early settlements and how people came from all over and melted into one pot. Today, I make a living teaching the American accent and culture, to employees of several MNCs that are based out of Bangalore, India and I've been doing this for the last 19 years. Go figure ☺
Movie way better than given credit for.
Best part of the movie. Thanks.
Very welcome 👍
Charley’s eyes classic PTSD thousand yard Stare
Met her once, college days. Beautiful woman for sure.

@@riddhiverma5179 Absolutely! I could watch it over and over again, without getting bored.
This is a prediction of how great Hatfield and McCoy would be. Robert Duvall woukd been great in that to.
Costner best roll yet !

It's a treasure. Same here!
Damn Annette Benning was beautiful 😳
Wonderful movie but how come I discovered Kevin so late? I always knew about him but never really paid him attention.. what a mistake he's so skillful so competent so attractive so manly.. he's got it all
Larissa Figot
I guess you like K. Costner?
Muy buena pelicula..la compre en bluray pero...pero NO VIENE EN IDIOMA LATINO...UNA PENA..
Nope if someone so ignorant and blind to one's love they walk away they don't deserve the last word
I don't think that it was because he was ignorant or blind to her love, but that he was shy and had trouble dealing with his emotions and cared so much, that he didn't want to hurt her, in case he died in the gun battle.
I hope you’re not referring to shooting someone for knocking on your door as “Standing your ground?”
I'm guessing it meant " someone who's knocking on your door and planning to shoot you" not otherwise .
