Triumph's Bonneville 'Jumped the shark' after 1970 IMO ; the 650s looked the best and ran the best. The ads at the time claimed 52 hp, a bit of an exaggeration probably. It should never have gone to 750cc; the engine was detuned with lower compression and it just vibrated more. The 'oil in frame' was a stupid idea just more weight with little benefit didn't handle any better. Worst of all was bad quality control after 1970; my 1976 Bonneville leaked oil everywhere in spite of my best efforts. Now 74 I've been riding my modded 2010 Triumph 675 STR for as long as my joints allow lol. Nice video!
That's the one . Had to wait eleven mounts for delivery because of the longshoreman strike . Stainless fenders , short peashooters and upgraded twin leading shoe racing front brake . Lost that bike in the draft on my nineteenth birthday . T/C/E
