One of the most beautiful bikes of all time. The Japanese had the engineering and sophistication but the British bikes had something special, magic and characterful.
The British brought about most of the innovations. Japan just continued to develop them when complacency and union trouble caused a crisis within the British bike industry. They brought about their own demise but their original engineering skill should not be diminished.
Smooth, timeless lines...& you can tell that mechanically her rotating assembly taps along in a masterful symphony similar to a cherished & well-maintained sewing machine. Her beauty is stunning & absolutely timeless.
Stunning bike. I owned a late 1960's Tiger 650 and a friend owned a similar Bonneville. The two bikes riding together always turned eyes. Loved them. Thanks for looking after such historical icons. From South Africa.
68-70 was the pinnacle of 650 Triumph big twins. 6CA ignition, tls front brake, superb chassis and forks, 20 years of development, 49-69. Some may say the 68-69 is more attractive, but the 70 was unique with the 3 bolt front engine plates, and as a mechanic, that little design bonus was a godsend.
Epic! The roar of a vintage Triumph is the best of any motorcycle in my opinion. My dad had a 1970 with a 750 and my mother-in-law has (and still rides) a 1971 with a 650. Both bikes just have that sweet terrin' through the country sound when they zoom by, and when they're started and revved up they rattle the aluminum siding on the garage!
When i first became interested in motorcycle this & chopppers ofthe late 60s were cool & in the movies. The guys that rode these were Dentists & Lawyers. Classic cool!
What a beauty! one of my all time favorite bikes ever, a 69 or a 70 Bonneville, those are the best! 3 favorite bikes: 1970 Bonneville 1978 Kawasaki KZ 1000 1985 XR 500R
A lot of people don't put the rubber grips on the rear tank sides, but I think it is part of the styling of it . One of the best looking Triumph's they ever made, I think
Gorgeous! 1970 was the last year before the switch to the questionable OIF (oil-in-frame) models & best year for the venerable 650 Tri-twin engine which was well-sorted near the end of its production run. (Last 650 was '72, before the switch to 750cc.) Looks like non-original paint for U.S. imports in '70, but that color combo is beautiful. Front tire looks like a Conti. RB-2 ribber, a great improvement over a K-70 for a front tire. I suspect the sidewalls are still good, having been in a controlled environment for 6 yrs. Electronic ignition, if not already done, would be the only mod I'd do w/ this relic.
You are 'riding-it-on-the-cam' exactly as they were designed-for .Stunning-Bike ! This is absolute-proof that the-Brits had a Time-Machine : It's almost an exact-copy of a 1999-2006 Kawasaki W650....
They are the most beautiful machines in the world. But the only thing that would quiet those noisy cams is regular use of full synthetic oil. I prefer valvoline
Great looking, great sounding, & l'm sure it is now in better assembly & running condition than it was originally, after your team has loving gone over it.!
Have you guys ever heard of Cahill’s Yamaha, Tampa, Fl. Feels like I used to live there. They had a pit bull named Pete, identical to the little rascals dog.
Yessir,back in the 70s I was there a couple days a week 72-75. I knew Mr Hilleys son & bought a 73 250 Yamaha Enduro 929$ cash & later @ their Brandon location I bought a 1000LTD 80,Kawasaki 3750.00$ in 1980. Small world..Armenia Ave baby!!
@@richardmorris6365 Mr. Hilleys, Didn’t know that, you must be from the forest hills area. I was about a block away in Carrollwood. Those were some good times. They sold me a 1984 YZ80, it was very fast
@camarojeff9786 I'm out in Brandon actually Seffner area. We were either there or Barney's in StPete or L&S in Riverview. There used to be a place next door to Cahills that had thousands of used parts.
best looking triumph of all time,my brother had the same US import in the eighties here in NZ and was the first british bike i rode and fell in love then i ended up getting a 73 750 bonnie US import, there a real nice 70 bonnie for sale here on trademe here in NZ for $17,000

There's nothing like the sound of a Triumph. Beautiful bike. Riding a great bike on a nice day is the best high ever.
I think the Brit-bike have more smooth "low" sound than the Jap´s who have a "harder" metallic sound that for me doesn´t sound so nice...
Id clean my shoes before riding that Triumph. Absolutely beautiful.
The flying microphone grab .Brilliant .What a lovely bike man .Wow!

What a gorgeous Triumph! That exhaust sounds spectacular.
That is one beautiful bike. I love that cranberry shade of red.

Senior plays that exhaust like a superlatively well played Stradivarius. Excellent!!!!
Thank you very much!
A real beauty and that sound :)
My first bike was a used ‘71 Triumph. It was rough but had “soul” unlike my next 10 or so bikes. I miss it.
so nice restored british bike. Looking from Germany.
What a lovely sound
The best sounding bike I have heard today.
I once had a chance to play a guitar owned by a famous rock star. I can imagine that riding that bike would be similar!
Great review of an iconic motorcycle. Love your videos!
Thank you kindly!
That is a lovely Bonny!
Just curious what your methods are for fuel and fuel preservatives when servicing your excellent bikes. I assume zero ethanol, maybe some Sta-bil?
Looked up confidence in the dictionary, it showed junior throwing a microphone over a priceless 1970 Triumph Bonneville to senior. LOL.
Beautiful paint
not the right color. Factory color is Astral Red.
It’s stunning yesssss. What a bike. Thank you 👊🏼

Beautiful. Better than original out of the factory, no doubt.

Yummy! Love ‘em. I had a ‘69 in 69!
Magnifique !
1970 was the last of the “best” Bonneville T120s before the oil in frame and high seat model came out in 1971.
very nice bike.

I have a 1972 Triumph TR6R 650 twin
Can't find anybody in my KCMO area To help me restore it
I sure miss riding it
As good as it gets, As a 10 year old kid in 1970, looking through bike shop windows at T120Rs and BSA rockets 3s. Great times.
