Leave the loft open an hour before sunset. They won't come out , but older females will check the outside quickly and she'll go back in right before the sun is about to disappear. After a while others will do the same. Extend the opening time 30 min each passing week and they will never leave you after 6 months . Now you can leave the door open from an hour after the sunrise till an hour before the sunset which they'll be inside themselves
Hi Kurt your videos are doing well. Now I'm going back to your videos and I see that to home racing pigeons it is a very different process than homing other brreds. When you first let out a racer it will automatically go back to its owner of the owner dosent allow it to come into the loft then it will come back straight to you. If the racer goes to its original place and finds no loft there it will make it's way back.
Good. She is intelligent bird & expensive too. Please don't put it in race just make her happy and relax in loft, then put her in breeding I'm sure it's chicks will fly best back home 👍
Do you have any suggestions on how little food, if any, I should be giving a pigeon for them to be hungry enough to re-home? I have 3 older birds and have them in a 4x4 cage, but don't have an actual loft yet. Do you suggest me rehoming them now or waiting until I can build a better loft. They have been prisoner for 4 months. Any help would be much appreciated.
any tips for 1st timers? thinking of getting a couple. A friend has pigeons lives about 10 miles away, willing to give me some. he did say would rather have the chicks born here. I need to make a loft first. whats my best bet?
There is another way to get an old female hen you got from another loft to stay pair her up with a male bird that is already acclimated to your loft and let them out together seeing that the male bird is usually the one in charge he will steer her back inside when it’s time.

If she doesn't settle and lay properly I'll send a pair of splits over. Yours looks better than mine though, so hopefully she figures it out!
yeah you better ahahha
Nice to see your barles doing as her told

yes, she has no ring so i cannot race, she will be for breeding good racing barless!
Like the setup
Maybe add that you could keep them hungry the first couple of times. It can't hurt to make them eager to trap and then reward feed.
yeah sorry i thought most people normaly do that

if you get some babies just been weaned thats also a good start you can train them into your loft
My new racing homer not eating since i received him. May be eating very little from last 3 days, no sick sign. Any advice?
4th comment! Keep the pigeons in good conditions!
