    Owning or having a luxury car is nothing, what will kill you is maintenance,BMW and Mercedes loves your saving account money, and be careful buying a used one,because some people skip maintenance and trade them in

    • @drstevej2527
      @drstevej2527 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      All BMW maintenance is included in the first 3 years and most that are purchased within 5-7 years are CPO cars. Also maintenance records are available if you buy from the dealer as is something you can ask from the owner.
      Anyone buying an 8 year old German car has no business buying a car.

      What does that even mean? ALL BMW come with a 3 year warranty that covers maintenance. CPO cars extend that to up to 7 years. The vast majority of these cars are traded in as the OP indicates which means they are most likely going back to a BMW dealer.
      In short only a tiny fraction of all these vehicles lack excellent maintenance unless they are much older.

    Just ordered a front parking sensor that went out on my Lexus GS 350 F-Sport. Lexus dealership wanted over $1k to fix. Tried calling Toyota dealership to order part and they said they don't have access to Lexus parts (even though when I pulled the sensor out the front bumper the part number started with the word Toyota 😂. I remember my co-worker having a 1986 MB 190E, and when you closed the door, you could feel the weight and quality that MB used to have. He had a problem with the wiper motor in all the time he had it, and he DIY'd that....and that was the extent of mechanical issues. The interior was almost primitive compared as today's MB's. I would take quality any day, (older chap speaking here who has had European and American luxury cars) there seems to be such a disconnect between luxury and cost, quality and value. But life comes only once so if a luxury car is your thing, go for it, but go in with open eyes, I guess. For some folks, there is no difference between a need and a want.

    Bad thing about a low priced Mercedes Benz is when I hit a deer they totaled my car, sure the estimate was bogus but that's how body shops buy your car from your insurance company, fix it cheap and make a huge profit selling it. I'm buying my car back and cobbling it together for about 15% of their estimate, screw those people. My car was perfect, 57,000 miles, 11 year old GLK350 4Matic. Just remember that rapidly depreciating vehicles are only around until the accident. Thanks.

    It's all about what is most important and how much it's going to cost. Unfortunately, many irresponsible people cannot and will not make sensible decisions. Then they end up wasting a lot of money and some end up with a repo and bad credit. I could afford an expensive luxury car but, that's not that important to me at 71 YO. A good safe, reliable, and attractive car with great MPG is all the luxury I need. My 2020 Camry LE is all I need right now...along with my 1970 F-250. I bought a used Audi from a Honda dealer oddly enough, but it’s great it’s a 21 A4 that I got extended warranty the carfax was clean, excellent service history, you name it. I decided to get it because the modern day Hondas are just cheap and lack critical safety features that the Audi had while basically being the same price as a NEW Audi. And because they order parts from Audi I can just have them do some repairs there and pay less for example oil changes are 75 all with the same parts Audi uses and it’s done by a tech who drives an Audi as well. Honestly though my situation is just luck but still if you can just avoid the Audi dealer or bmw dealer or whatever dealer and do it yourself or go independent

    Luxury is all gimmicky to me, I just want light weight, high performance, sports handling, bucket seats, double wishbone suspension, but backup camera, touchscreen, parking sensors, push button start, and led headlights are good. Don't care about leather seats that age badly compared to fabric, heated seats/steering wheel, moving headlights, electronically controlled breaks, two mode oil pump, and so many other superfluous stuff. I never driven in a Lamborghini Countach, but I've heard you can hear so much mechanical sounds in the cabin, wheel sound, wind sound, it's all rather dramatic at low speeds, which I would rather take over a boring zero feeling luxury car.

    Mercedes is not a luxury car. The segment is called premium or near luxury. Yes insurance, fuel, maintenance, depreciation, consumables are all more expensive. You sacrifice reliability, durability, and efficiency for style and performance. I will say a lot of the car influencers have shown that a lot of very expensive repairs can be taken care of for much less if one is mechanically inclined and has some basic tools.

    ............................... Hmmmmmmmm? gotta say it Truly is possible to own a Fast Economical LUXURY vehicle where Low Maintenance is next to nothing to Feed and Clothe & said Luxuary car is next to nothing. Enter the 450h+ "F" Sport!...Yep! Never buy gas but rather plug in to 120v for 49 miles per charge. (always having the option to buy gas However in this case REGULAR gas & get *89 miles per eMPG. Brakes are minimal wear because I coast & use regenerative brakes = mnimal wear on brakes.... Oil & Filter was $ 79.00 *** & Lexus dealership even filled my gas tank up Wow! Additionally I never fire the ICE except minimally to circulate fluids and then shut it down...RESULT Practically Brand New ICE under the hood. & a Very very quiet Electric vehicle around town.
    My car is quick 0-60 5.5 Via Road and Track... However is a bit quicker 1st 1/2 block or so, because of high torq. Insurance is Not an added cost above a say Toyota.
    Only service I do is wax / Polish with *** Polish Angel *** Z highest Gloss possible...Sooo, in general you are indeed correct however a LEXUS holds its Re-Sale very well, then add a LEXUS model that is rare and in very much IMO a Win win win!

    yeah sure as a luxury car ages especially one that unperformed in the market such as a Cadillac SRX it costs a lot to maintain but some are known for lasting forever if maintained properly hell there's famously a 1983 Lincoln town car with over 1.3 million miles on its odometer my dad drives a used 2011 Cadillac SRX premium Luxury 3.0 liter V6 until the later 1980s you never though of a Cadillac having a V6 engine option you generally though of a big Ol' small block 350 V8 or a big block 400 425 or 472 V8 or 500 Ci V8 depending on which car and model year you had my late maternal grandfather drove a 78 Sedan Deville when my parents started dating in 1982 and Grandma bought a used 1981 Coupe Deville in 1983 that she drove for 5 years I loved that car except getting burnt by or stuck to the leather Upholstery from late spring/early fall
