  • When it comes to metabolism, you've probably heard some pretty conflicting information about how it works, or whether or not slow metabolism is predetermined by genetics. So for my latest episode, I aimed to clear up any confusion.
    ------------------------
Order Dr. Gundry’s latest book “Gut Check” here: www.amazon.com...
I will provide you with everything you need to know about metabolism, including some basic tips on how to best support it. Additionally, I dive into one of the most essential vitamins that many of us lack and identify the blood tests I recommend you request from your doctor for optimal health.
    On this episode you’ll learn:
The real cause of a slow metabolism and what YOU can do about it (no matter your age)
Why missing out on THIS daily activity can cause sugar cravings and weight gain
How “trendy salt” can actually slow down your metabolism - and the best type to get
How your thermostat can affect your longevity and sleeping patterns (and tricks for using it to your advantage)
How WHEN you eat could be more important than what you eat
The SHOCKING connection between vitamin D and your gut lining (and the foolproof way to increase your vitamin intake)
Why I recommend EATING your sunscreen!
Why getting your vitamin C like this is the smartest way to prevent wrinkles and improve collagen
The cheap and easy-to-obtain tests you NEED from your doctor (they could change your life for the better)
Why carrying the Alzheimer's gene does NOT mean your fate is sealed (and what to do about it)
Why vegans actually tend to have smaller brains (and the supplement that could help minimize these effects)
The tools to live a long and healthy life delivered straight to your inbox!

Dr Gundry..I have a question. Do the same protocols apply with diets and supplements between the positive and negative blood lines. I have heard of blood type diets and blah blah blah, but never tried them. Particularly 0-negative blood. Also I was on a 23 hour fast every day for 3 months with an hour window of eating.
I lost 30 pounds pretty fast but went way soft and some creepy skin even with walking everyday and working out in the gym. I have since gained 10 pounds back and my skins Bounced back some once again. I'm in my 60's and Would love to knock off the extra pounds. But how do I do that without going crapey and soft? I realize i'm older and part of its age. I also have Auto immune issues.... But never felt so good with intermittent fasting .

Interesting, I had the same question. It seemed like I could not gain any weight. The answer for me ended up being not just eating more calories, but eating more consistently. It took a couple of months but I ended up gaining about 10 lbs. Actually was quite difficult as I am not someone who likes to eat a lot.

I don't want to speak for Dr Gundry but not being able to gain weight may be due to gut damage or leaky gut. If you stick to the Gundry diet plan your gut health will improve which will enable you to absorb more nutrients from your food and stabilise your weight to a healthier level. Good luck!

Not a doctor but I have it. Doctor simply told me it is a seasonal thing for me/in my case I can only reduce it. No cure unfortunately. To reduce it doctor told me to lessen my stress and use oil that smells like coconuts that I have to put to my hair 3 times a day before I shower. After showering I put a solution after drying my hair off. Just to be sure I do after 5 minutes after my hair is already dried. It did not cure it completely but it did reduce it drastically.

Hi! As a dermatologist, we can’t say it’s an autoimmune disease. However, the food a person eat, the medication one might take, the lack of stress management can directly affect! The gut microbiome has a lot to do with it. I believe.

Dr. Gundry, Do you have any information about eating A2A2 beef verses A1A2 beef meat? Seems like that may be a missing link about how our body respond to the natural sugar molecule in beef as being unrecognizable by our body that you often mention.
