    Very good video!! Very informative quick and to the point

      Much easier to do single component short videos than explain the entire process of taking out the engine tearing it down and rebuilding it. Any decent mechanic has to know how it all works together to function as a whole. Thanks for the input.

      Yes your rite, I have a xl800 that is giving me weird problems with the dash and won’t start with the start button, I watched your dash video, I wish I had another dash to try in it, I ran a test on it and the test worked fine, and I can enter the code but doesn’t turn on when it should, also if I jump the solenoid the dash will come on for like 15 sec or when it’s running, kinda weird

      @@TheHomePros6221 in the comments on that video a guy said to disconnect the single blue wire and the dash would work. I still have that old dash I just put it on a shelf.

    Hey, I watched a few of your videos, and appreciate them. But, I could be wrong, but the tank does not pressurize? Inside the carbs are a little diaphragm fuel pump run of the motor pulse (impulse lines). I'm not sure of the exact pressure they make, probably about 3 psi max, but that sucks fuel from the tank, and recirculates whatever is left over back to the pump. Even if it recirculated all the fuel, it is a closed system, and would only put back in what it takes out. But, it probably draws most of the fuel, and is only recirculating a little back into the tank, so a vacuum, not pressure would occur, if it wasn't for the little vent tube. That tube has a little one way valve in it, so air can go into the tank (again, not pressurized) to fill the void left by the fuel consumption, but not let gas or gas vapors out. You are correct in pressure testing, and looking for bubbles, because if you have a leak from the tubes in the tank anywhere to the carbs, it will be sucking air, which would greatly reduce the amount of gas available for your carbs, and your ski will run horrible at higher rpms. These things suck an amazing amount of gas pretty quick, and the tank really needs good venting. So, if that little one way valve is kinda messed up, and doesn't let air in easy (because you overfilled the tank, and gas got in the valve too many times), you might not be getting good tank ventilation, and the carbs will have trouble sucking enough gas and will be fighting a negative pressure in the tank (suction). But, I don't know any 2 stroke machines that have a pressure gas tank. Again, just a back yard mechanic with an engineering background. That's my 2 cents on the rubber seal fix. It doesn't really matter as long as you aren't getting gas fumes into the ski, which shouldn't happen as the tank is under a vacuum pressure, and will just vent a little better. Having lines with no air leaks does matter though, all the way to the tubes in the tank.

      @ShadetreeJetski  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, it is a vacuum pressure building in the tank. You test for leaks by pressurizing the system. I simplify the explanation by saying the tank must pressurize. It is critical that the one-way valve works and the fuel system seals completely. The fuel cap must have a good rubber seal. These burn fuel extremely fast 1 1/2 hours on a full 15 to 17 gallon tank is all you will get running hard. Thanks for giving a detailed description of how these two stroke fuel systems operate.

    Loosen the clamp and pry up on the rubber under the bottom with a large flat screwdriver, working that way around the bottom until it comes off.

      @aaronconner2010 On the 2000 and 2001 models it clears easily. I dont know what model you are working on. On a kawasaki I drain the fuel tank and unstrap it to get these out because of clearance issues.

    Ebay only takes about 12% on average now depending on category. Used to be around 20% before they dropped paypal requirements.
    I wonder if this is what caused one of my cylinders to lean out on my 760. I always get a good hiss when I open the gas cap and never smell any vapors when I stick my head under the seat. The hours are high on so could be a lot of things but I didn't consider this.

      @ernestl709 may have a bad fuel pickup tube. Switch to reserve and try to start. Certainly the fuel sender is bad but that wont cause a no start. Have you tried putting fuel in a spark plug hole to se if it starts? Could be time to rebuild carbs...big job for that ski because you have to remove the exhaust to get to them.
