I know this is an old video, but I love the way you clean out that tank with air and paper towels. It's really smart. I know people will bitch that the wear ring should have been replaced, but what you did will work fine for a cheap machine. I too loved the paper towel trick in the fuel tank, my first thought was you were going to use a stick or something to clean it with the towels. Awesome I would have never have thought to use air. I did learn a valuable lesson about using dirty tanks. I bought a 50 hp merc and after getting it running, gummed up the carbs with crap. Nice video!!! I am surprised they still have parts for this machine.
the paper towel way i have never seen that trick before very clever you live and learn.
The subtle "alright..." when the engine fell into place :D Great vid Andrew, keep it up!
Been there..... then under breath or off camera (fucker!)
My only problem is i would have had to sandblast and paint everything i took apart im kinda OCD that way.
I’m with ya
With some new bearings and gaskets on the Crankshaft, at least a proper look into the Zylinders, i wouldnt Trust that Motor. Besides that cool Projekt👍
I agree. If you are going to do a job do it right. Show some pride and good workmanship.
@@noed.martinez9358 looking pretty ain't got nothing to do with a good job. If you're trying to sell it, sure make it look good but if it's for personal use it's up to who you are. He took a cheap given up on machine and gave it life again, that is a good job.
As you should be.
You're the only person who's videos I can watch multiple times without losing interest.
You should be an engineer and creat fixes for manufacturers from auto to heavy equipment. I absolutely love watching you as I learn that I can fix things if I just put my mind to it.
For the love of God, use some Never Seize and Grease, if I were rebuilding that thing all the moving parts would be swimming in grease.
OMG yes! Can't sleep now after watching this.
where did that jet ski come from? salvage? did he dredge it up,abandonned? was it free?
Your right though Never seize saved me hours of having to cut the aluminum prop off my mercury outboard when the rubber hub went bad. Was the first time I was introduced to Never Sieze, still have the same can from 1968
next season he will do the right thing
it will be too messy next season when he properly overhauls it
i didnt see any rebuild i seen a $50 jet ski is running now ..
Great video again, I really enjoy your engine rebuilds.
congrats on the 200k i wish u uploaded every day bro
Why ? Quality over quantity.
I admire people with those types of skills that you have very well done it’s a dying art with people that can work on engines like that
The only guy I know who can make paper towels do what he wants them to. You are the KING Andrew
Does your girlfriend ever get mad with all the guys man crushing on you.
It's not the boys she should be worried about! :P
@NPC #34254334 Response: only half? :P
@NPC #34254334 Response: Good to know :P Guess if I was a straight guy Andrew could turn me too, peow peow haha
@@jerryfadness4623 ikr disgusting
Sorry for advice for hammering the ball-bearing part for prevention of damaging the chrome plated sides better that use a piece of wooden part between hammer and ball-bearing. Thanks for your great videos.
let the buyer tend to the bearings
@@rogerd4559 no no no I care about customers 😁 and precision
Andrew.....you are a MASTER FIXER!!!
This may be the first youtube video i have watched when somebody ACTUALLY had eye protection on. Hats off to his guy.
I still have two eyes - when I get down to one, I'll start being more careful.
Well Done !!! My backyard all day long ...great video ...fun to bring old stuff back to life ...great to see it apart before I take mine apart !!! Thank You !!!
LMAO... at 10:19ish.... "this thing is seized up and I kinda broke it, so we gotta deal with this...." I CAN'T BREATHE!.... I just love watching him fix stuff!
That was a hell of an undertaking...good job...congrats!!
Gas tank cleaning technique is INGENIOUS !!!!!!!
We have an 89/90 LX, runs perfect. Great machines. Thanks for the all inclusive re-build video!
Shop towels with the air compressor to clean gas tank.... WHAT? that was an awesome fix it trick. This is why I watch videos like this. Well done man.
Compressed air and paper towels.....genius!!!👍
Amazing video! Good work on ur videos. Its 12.04 here and I have school tomorow but still watching cause ur the best!
Holy shit dude.....Must be nice to know you can freakin' fix ANYTHING
he is an EBAY/ Gtraigs list mechanic... yout fix it good enough to sell on the market
jim halcom or fix it good enough to have a good time riding it for the whole season
That trick ! -with the towels and compressed air was genious! Thanks for the tip. 👍
Persistence, patience, and a creative spirit...that's a lot of talent....excellent work!
NASA is trying to build a machine that Andrew CAN"T FIX ... Not a chance!
Hello young man, I’m in the mind set that you NEED a sand blasting cabinet, and a bigger one for outside.
Good idea. Buy him one.
Wouldn’t be as good as the dumpster rebuild, and I’m sure that he can purchase his own stuff,
Never any moss under this man"s feet!.
We have a similar saying in England.
Grass doesn't grow on a busy street.. 👍 🇬🇧
Love your attention to detail. Such an ethical bloke.
Love what you are doing. Giving another chance to old little machines that still have some life left
loved the trick cleaning the gas tank.nice job as always
Should make yourself a bearing Press Andrew 😳 And invest in a cheap bead blaster. Great video😁👍
beating bearings in with a hammer makes them last 2 months
If your going to do that beat them in on the outer race! You flatten the balls in the bearing that way eventally causing crumbling of the ball bearings and disaster.... at sea
we need a video on how to make a sand blast cabinet
jim halcom I think you can actually buy one from harbor freight cheaper than al the stuff you would have to buy to build one.
Just in time! i just finished watching that video where you had to winch that tree off of the cliff! 💪😎
MrDmagic88 that was a good video
@@ryanwoodford7933 indeed it was

Great job! Kind of points to Yamaha since all the mechanical issues seemed to be quite workable without buying loots of spares.
I just bought two of these and I watched this video about 5 times now. One of mine will be running tomorrow. The other will run next week after I receive parts. Thank you!
Lol, good luck with your new wave runner. I have 2 other wave runner videos on here too.
@@AndrewCamarata I saw them too! I don't see any videos about how to check/change the oil on the first generation waverunner. Are you up to it?
I guess its summer in ny because your cranking out the videos
Dang you have a tool for everything! Even taking out the towel from the tank! Lmao
GOOD WORK.....not sure it is worth much...but, you did a good job of saving it
jinan0014
Doesn’t have to be worth much to still have fun with it. Just like Andrew’s snowmobiles. Older but FUNctional and no bank payments to go along with them.
I know this is an old video, but I love the way you clean out that tank with air and paper towels. It's really smart. I know people will bitch that the wear ring should have been replaced, but what you did will work fine for a cheap machine. It won't be perfect, but it really isn't worth putting real money into that machine. I like that you actually FIX things instead of just parts swapping. I know parts must be swapped sometimes, but not all the time.
I had watched some of Andrews Wave Runner videos before. So, I did not set out to deliberately watch this one, but it was much more interesting than I thought it would be. It automatically came up after something else I was watching of his. Nice to find even an older one that I have not watched before.
"Had a lot of shims though, maybe I should stick a couple in there" lol nice!
I love how he uses a impact to tighten the sparkplug
I stopped watching.
Amazing skill sets you have.
If Andy can't fix it, nobody can! 👍
Hard to believe the rod bearings survived with the shape that machine was in. I imagine they are expected to fail *sooner than later*. Nice repair bringing that back from the dead!
I have recently started watching this guy's videos i dont know but it has a calming effect i think i will stick around
