Well done! I would attach a small flat woodboard to the House and the Cameras on that, so you don't need to drill new holes into the House all the time

      Actually a decent idea

Oh my dog you're so right. I'm so doing this next time. Thanks for this idea. Can even paint the board etc so it kinda of matches so you only drill into the house once. because I've had to chance cameras a few times. That plus I've used ABS plasic junction boxes for connections, longest one has been up for about 4 years in the Texas Sun has so far so good, and hasn't degraded.

Even with any short-falls, I really do like the Reolink cameras. I am looking to expand mine and add more cameras to my current ones for the outside and then I will have almost all cameras on Reolink for a single app view. I am also looking to get their doorbells to add as well once they get a version 2 or they work out some bugs with the current firmware.

Great video! Not sure wether you’re aware of this but I found it super helpful integrating my Reolink cameras with my Apple Home Kit and Google Home, I’d really recommend Scrypted, super clean UI and easy to spin up in docker 👍

I actually upgraded to the 16 channel reolink nvr. I have a bunch of the older 4mp bullet cameras mounted outdoors, one of the poe duo also mounted outside, and 2 domes inside. I used to use a dedicated PC as a nvr, love the new nvr from rlk. I actually recommended this setup to my place of employment(which I will also install).

Interesting setup I'll have to watch the initial video. My biggest thing is I want to be able to control the software and be able to hoard months of data.

THANKS! i'm having that same issue and your video shows the dual cam camera solves that problem, but at first thought it was only available as POE but found out is available as WIFI version which is perfect for me. NOTE: dual cam 6:47 would've liked to see the one cam vs this two-cam side by side, it's hard to tell the difference without doing so, but eventually on amazon one video showed the difference side by side, very noticeable shows entire yard!

The ask to Reolink to make mounting holes standard is a great one. I bought a batch of 522s with the thought that if I needed more features, I could swap in a more capable camera. If the mounting holes are different, why would I feel any need to stick with Reolink? Sales 101 right here.

  • @moniquemonicat
    @moniquemonicat 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

UPDATE: Reolink also has a wifi version of the dual camera that comes with attached flood lights. This is the one I purchased (2 of them). I'll be returning the single cams if these duals are better. Need them for an alley way so this will work best and love the flood lights!

I use the E1 pro with Shinobi. Awesome little camera and REALLY nice for a DIY baby monitor. As let's be honest, baby monitors suck ass! Over priced garbage. (I'm on my 3rd kid. So didn't want to spend $100 for junk.)
So I bought two E1 pro's. One for the baby, another one to watch my front door. I also plan on buying another two pack to cover the rest of the house. (Kids room and one to go outside my apt door.)
I can safely say, I love Reolink's cameras. EXTREMELY affordable and love the feature sets. When I upgrade my family to a house in the next two or so years, I also plan on adding to the setup to cover backyard/front yard plus other rooms.
I think the biggest pro with Reolink so far is the fact of how simple they are to connect to or add to an NVR.

@@RaidOwl Not with Reolink you won't. Lol. Give this a google "I made the reolink mistake". I came aross that because I too made the reolink mistake :'( I kept making it too. Until I finally ripped it all out and went annke. Their stuff is just much better. You can actually set iFrame and etc. But I use BI with AI Person detection. Hook Up Rob swears up and down that you can make it work, and sorta you can but it's not stable. I tried every reolink trick in the freaking book. Note: Annke isn't perfect, they're banned in the USA for federal contractors due to spy concerns soooo generally recommend not letting that camera talk to the internet but as long it's VLAN'd off or simplely blocked from internet access you'll be fine. They even have the 2 lens that preforms very well at 2K per lens.

@@fitlikeaglove7396 Just wanted to say that I mostly agree with your post, however I've gotten the I frame interval issue fixed on reolink cameras. The new firmware works much better now. The 36 reolink 4k cameras i've installed all work very well with BI. That said, Annke also makes solid cameras. My personal setup is a mix of Hikvision, Axis, and Reolink. I used to have the same issues with Reolink, but that was 2 years ago. Been fixed for a long time now.

check for automation to another devices also. we need it now days. if detection occurs, set porch lamp to full brightness, etc.
and how do you do the recordings? on NVR, NAS? I found if you have a lot of cameras and long recording, the management of the recording are very hard.

I have 7 cameras. I use 2 Argus Pro 3's with solar panels and they are great. I also use a TrackMix camera also solar powered and this is probably my favorite camera. I do have the E1 Outdoor as you mentioned it's your favorite. I love it, however it just doesn't beat the TrackMix in my opinion. It is my second favorite camera. Last but not least I also have 3 Lumus cameras. These are cheap and have basic settings. Nothing special about these at all, however for indoor cameras they are absolutely amazing. I would never use these outdoors even though they claim to be weather resistant. The basic settings and not being able to have the advanced settings the other cameras have is the primary reason I wouldn't use these outdoors. The other reason is the fact these cameras are under $50 dollars. The price tag to me is a red flag. These cameras would probably not hold up outdoors like the other ones do. With that being said I recommend all of them especially the TrackMix. I absolutely love Reolink.
