    Only seven days ? Good shit dude ! I just learned 180’s and power slides myself on my longboard, though it took me wayyy longer than you haha.. 😅 if anybody is having issues with stand ups a good pointer that helped me was learning nose and tail pivots in all directions and also being comfortable riding switch. Heel side and toe side slides make more sense now for my muscles and body if that makes any sense lol.

    Love the video sounds effects, amazing job sliding in only 7 days on such a flexy board

    Congrats dude, not only did you achieve it, but you did on a board that wasn't even made for sliding which makes it A LOT harder haha. I recommend getting a stiff board with rounded lip wheels. When I first started to learn how to slide I did the same thing, the board I had wasn't that different from the one you're using. Sometime later I got me a Landyachts Switchblade and this baby slide like a dream!

    Thank you so much for posting this. I recently bought a dinghy as my first board. I've been trying to learn how to slide to stop without ruining my shoes lol. I went out for my first day and did exactly the same as you... aggresive turns that got me nowhere.
    Any major tips you have for actually getting the board to slide?

    • @jaydawg1504
      @jaydawg1504  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The main thing is to keep most of your weight on your front foot because if there’s too much weight on the part you’re trying to slide, it’s not gonna budge anywhere. Combine that with swinging your torso in the direction you wanna slide and you should get it no time :). It can be scary at first but you can do it

  • @Dr_Footbrake
    @Dr_Footbrake 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    If you had Powell snakes you'd have done this day one (probably)

    • @jaydawg1504
      @jaydawg1504  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah so I just learned that my stock wheels aren’t good for sliding 😂

    • @Dr_Footbrake
      @Dr_Footbrake 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jaydawg1504 yeah a good beginner slide wheel is narrow contact patch, stone ground/no skin and rounded lips. Yours look like they meet the narrow contact patch criteria but not the other two haha.
      At least if you learn on the more difficult wheel/s you can slide anything after!

    • @Gianluccazz
      @Gianluccazz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man all you have the drop cat? It's me or the drop cat for what I saw on the video it's slightly lighter than de drop hammer?. I know and it's obvious in the slow motion clips. That it has more flex than the drop hammer. ( I own one).
      The closest slide that I did its carving too hard sometimes its slides but didn't know what a was doing hahaha.
      I think its too hard for beginners in a longboard with those type of wheels to slide. I know they are designed to go fast and have lot of stability and confort at riding. But I think to make slide on those wheels are for experienced riders. Because of the weight and shape. I searched lot of info and the advantages of that type of wheels in slides is the linearity of the slide. But they are little bit more heavier than smaller wheels.

    • @babyg220
      @babyg220 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Whichever board is more stiff and try to get 80a-83a wheels they are better for sliding. This guy learned how to slide on a very flexible board which is harder than it looks. So it's really up to you if you wanna take a challenge or not.

    • @jaydawg1504
      @jaydawg1504  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The trick is to really put most of your weight on your front foot (the pivot point) because if too much weight is on the back foot, it’s not gonna budge from the ground. Also swing your upper torso as well :)
